No one else is going to take the extra time to clean the underside of your car and double check every nut and bolt is tight during a simple oil change. I attempted to book a spot online. When I never received a confirmation I called the shop on Tuesdaty. I was told they were short staffed, but the guy on the phone confirmed me for 10am on Sunday. I asked him to make sure there would be a lift available since I was coming a distance. He said there was plenty of room. Fast forward to Sunday. I show up at 10:00 and no one is there. The place looks like it went out of business by the looks of the grounds. Weeds growing out of the pavement, random trash and debris all over the place. However, I decided to give him a chance and wait to see if maybe he's a few minutes late. When he doesn't appear by 10:30 I call, no answer. I call again at 10:45, once again no answer. At 11:15 I give up and head home. At 12:15 he finally calls back because he just got to the garage and tells me I can come back. I let him know I'm already on my way home and to far to come back. Very surprised to find this place. I was able to fix a transmission sensor issue that was fairly simple but needed a lift and some tools I didnt have access to. Spent 4 hours here only cost a couple hundred for the time and all in all was able to do a job for 600 that I was quoted 3x that most other shops. The owner is very helpful and accommodating. They have every tool you need. Would definitely use this service again if I had something I can do myself. read more

Very pleased w/ the service we received here. The resident mechanic was very friendly & accommodating, made sure we had everything we needed. Upon arrival we noticed there was a lot of what appeared to be misc 'clutter' in the vicinity of the parking lot & it was a different location than the pictures on Yelp at the time, so that was confusing at first, but then upon talking w/ the mechanic we realized they had just relocated there so they were still in process of setting up. That was July (I'm very late posting this review) so now it's probably looking great. The mechanic didn't charge us add'l time for going over our allotted time by a bit (we had reserved 2 hrs), which proved they care more about the customers being happy than putting themselves first. This is the best garage and workshop I always wanted. And I believe this is the only shop that open in the LA area where you can just work on your own car with a good professional support. I have been there yesterday working on a replacement of a handbrake line clip, and it was around 5+ hours, and the price was only $165 after tax. Been coming here since 2018. The lift is obviously the main reason to come. But the full array of tools make it worth it for jobs where you need a specialty tool, but can't justify buying it to use once. The staff/mechanics will help if they can so that is another point of added value. Used to be pretty busy, but seems like demand may have dropped. Could be COVID or the price increase? But now some jobs make more sense to go to the shop, because the margin of $$ saved isn't as great. And if I'm working on my car for pleasure, 40 bux an hour kind of forces me to rush which also makes it not as enjoyable. Overall, it's still a fair rate. But that's just me. My dream for the longest time was to have a 2 post lift installed in the garage of my home. Sadly I never won the lottery so I was stuck wrenching on my back while my car was on jackstands. Now that I'm much older I can really feel the aches and pains in my back. I felt my wrenching days were slowly coming to a close. Thankfully though I found this place and scheduled an appointment to work on my BRZ. This place is great because they put your car up on a lift for you and let you use all their tools. It's a good idea to bring your own ratchets though because a lot of their stuff has been used and abused. Joseph works at the garage by putting your car on the lift and checking you in. He was a humongous help to me by giving me much needed advice and some extra elbow grease when I really needed it. I ended up purchasing a prepaid package because its a great deal and I do plan on coming often to maintain my car and install parts in the future. read more

I waited after more than a few visits to review this place. If I'm honest, my skills are probably at a 4/10, but I love wrenching on my own car and learning in the process. After "finishing" this last project, I got about half way down the street, heard a loud "POOF!", and my car died. Would not restart... I was just going to admit defeat, and call a tow truck to take it to a shop. I figured I might as well walk back to the garage and ask Joseph what he would do. He let me borrow the OBII reader - no codes... Despite my resistance, he insisted to help push the car a few blocks, back to the shop to have a look. Just from my explanation he had some good ideas of what it could be. Sure enough, he was able to get it running. We drove back to the shop, and we fixed the problem. (I didn't reclamp the intercooler and it popped out of the outlet during boost) - A 5 minute fix. What a waste of time and money it would have been if Joseph didn't save my @$$. Anyone that says Joseph didn't help them when they needed it, either didn't ask, or seriously has no clue what they're doing, and are beyond the scope of a DIY shop. There have been a few times I've called Joseph over to take a look and he was a big help. Joseph has been nothing but great. I can only imagine how frustrating that one star review is from the guy that broke his own car and blames Joseph for not holding his hand enough. With the rising cost of SFR homes and draconian HOAs, it's become impossible for DIY mechanics to own a garage-mahal. My next big ticket item was a car lift to install in my former garage. But certainty and life are an estranged couple. Garage-less, I've been getting away with minor tuneups in a community parking structure. Dream Garage popped up on Yelp as a new business and fascinated me. I knew I'd be taking my car here eventually. And one weeknight drive home, the clutch pedal went limp. ---- I spent 2.5 days living (working) here, so this is what made it cozy: Free Wifi Lounge (cluttered but good enough to rest or eat your takeout meals) 8 to 8 operating hours - a full 12 hour day. They even will let you go overtime (rate increases) Hand wash sink. 2 restrooms (one was not as clean as the other. Your gf/wife may object) Great location (7-11, Target, CVS, plenty of fast food nearby even an In-n-out a bit further. Autozone is within driving distance as well) ---- Wrenching notes: Hand tools are mostly Harbor Freight variety. Not my favorite, but they work. I brought the better stuff from my own sets. Uncomfortably hot inside. You can use the shop fans - but they will blow dirt in your eyes. Safety goggles required at all times. Dream has a very impressive tool selection. If you peruse the photos, some ambitious wrenchers have done some big jobs here. Even with a mid-engine car, I felt confident I could do the big job here. The specialty stuff I took advantage of: Transmission jack - worked like a champ. Removal was easy. And it was the easiest time I ever lined up the input shaft during assembly. The multi-tilt ability of the jack worth every $. 2 tall support stands - crucial to supporting the engine with the transmission removed. Mityvac brake bleeder (clutch slave bleed) Cutting tool - to cut down a specialty bit for clearance. XZN (triple square) sockets. European cars. SMH. ---- If you're doing a big job - go with a VIP package. You'll get more hours per dollar and free basic cold beverages (your guests not included) Also, I was not charged to leave my car there on the lift overnight nor in the morning until I returned. I broke a flex joint and I wasn't charged for it. It wasn't expensive - but they didn't even ask me to pay for it. How cool is that? They even dispose of fluids for you!! (oil, brake fluid, etc) And they will take all your excess metal for scrap recycling. Can't say enough about the staff. Chance and Christian - great guys and will drop in to sanity check if you're stuck on something. Hoping they stay in business for the long haul - because I want to keep coming back! read more

The customer service is great as well. Chance really explains and lays out what is where and how to work things properly. If you don't know, just ask, and he will stop what he's doing to explain it to you. They really care about you and your car there. Plastic covers went over the seat and the steering wheel along with a paper mat for the floor. The waiting room is cool if anything a bit unorganized...but still ok for people to wait and chill for you to get done (the wife watched anime the whole time). lol They have some drinks and food there if you want to keep working. They don't try to over charge you for anything and if you check into yelp, you get a 10% discount! If you do a yelp review, they will give you a 20% discount the next time you come in. :) Awesome! I know not everyone is the type to go somewhere and work on their car. Sometimes It takes longer then one day. I had to leave my stuff overnight and it was fine. I just put everything I had under my car and I was good for the next day. I mean I had new parts, old parts, tools and instructions, tires and all sorts of misc stuff about and everything was as I left it that day around 2:30pm. The next day around 10am it was all there. All accounted for and everything. Very cool. The patrons there also just mind their own business but don't mind a quick chat about cars and stuff. It was nice to hand around like minded people that wanted to work on their cars and try to know the in's and out's of it. A few parking spaces outside because they share a plaza as well with other companies. but not really that big of an issue. You might miss it at first if you come here for the first time. If you see a plaza with lots of garage doors...that's it! Call in and book an appointment with Chance if you want to check this place out. I'll still work on my car at home, but when I have a big job that I want to try to do myself, i'll be for sure coming here again with all the tools and lifts and AIR COMPRESSOR GUN!!!! sooo cool! and fast!! Great place for anyone to perform maintenance on any car. My car is lower than normal and almost never can be lifted without some serious thinking and jack positioning. This place was able to get my car on the lift without worrying if I am going to have new scratches or other issues. I haven't had much luck with other shops performing maintenance and I am confident in most areas of car mechanics I just needed the time and convenance this shop offers. You can also use a non lift space for a little cheaper, I changed my oil, Cleaned out some transmission solenoids and replaced a bad oxygen sensor which I needed some assistance due to the socket wouldn't grab correctly. All in all, beats dealer prices and most mechanic hourly rates if you don't have a garage or workspace to DIY on your own vehicle. Always a good thing to call ahead to ensure space and tone for whatever project you are tackling. Weekends are a bit higher due to space is a premium. Freak'n Awesome! My 2007 Dodge Caliber sounded like a diesel! Dealer said it was a bad Alternator and Idler pulley, $850 to fix. Pep Boys laughed and said they would do it for $450. Looked up some similar projects on You Tube... found Dream Garage... and went at it. It took me 4.5, hours, and a little bit of advice and help from the guys in the shop, and boom done! Removed Alternator, replaced the Decoupler Bearing and put it all back together. Every tool I needed was there. It runs great again and my final cost, $215. I saved over $600 doing it myself at Dream Garage!!! Woot woot!!!! If you have no practical experience working on cars, but consider yourself to be pretty smart "so how hard can it be" and/or because it "looks easy" on you tube, you might want to really think twice about going here for anything beyond tune up, wipers, or lights. read more

Lift rental with tools, but the guy working there Joeseph actually helped me with items when I got stuck free of charge.
