A simple but delightful trail. It's quick getaway from the local urban scenery. It's not completely secluded as you will still see buildings and cards nearby but its still a nice place to visit. I took my little dogs with me on a walk there, unlike hiking on a mountain I don't have to worry about a random predator coming in and hurting my dogs. The trail isn't challenging, mainly walking on flat ground. Although it seems simple, there is still lots of fun things to look out for if you try hard enough. I saw some rabbits hiding in the bushes, interesting insects, signs along the trail telling the history of the land, and a lot of birds in the center water basin. All in all this is a friendly simple hike that is perfect for a casual stroll. read more

Absolutely love it here. I recently moved to Anaheim and this place makes me feel like I belong. I walk/jog from Ball Rd to Lincoln Ave and then back to Ball Rd which is about 3 miles. I definitely plan on visiting this place every once in a while and would recommend others to do the same! read more

This walk was very nice, clean, pretty, and quiet but when I went there, there was a swarm of bees that was just in a spot that was "blocked" off by caution tape. To my dismay I was too late to see the tape and my dog and I tried to get away but I got stung multiple times and my dog got stung twice. As I was freaking out from the bees, three bikers almost hit me(which to be fair was my fault, but they were coming pretty fast). I will not be going here again. read more

With markers to track your location this place provides plenty of places to stop and enjoy the scenery or push yourself to walk the extra mile. Plenty of parking all over too. What a perfect little gem! This is off the beaten path and a great place to go for a walk. There are ground plaques to tell the walker how many "2/10" of mile walked. One side is paved for easy walking, then about a mile and a half in, walking parallel to the water ravine. Straight dirt, no shade (so prepare for the brutal sun from atop and reflecting underneath from the gravel). If sensitive to direct sunlight, grab a sun hat. It is also dog friendly, but grab a pooper bag at the opening gate as there are none on the trail. While walking, once in a while, might see a previous dog owner leaving their dogs mess on the trail (ick!). Overall a great place to take a stroll, the entire walk is under 3 miles (maybe 2.5?), and easy. There are benches in the paved side to watch birds. read more

Really cute hidden spot. Really quiet and calm. Definitely a place to walk or ride your bike if you need some relaxing quiet time.

Loved it. Clean and well maintained. There are outdoor exercise equipment. Water fountain available for humans and dogs. I recommend it to anyone looking for a nature trail in the city. Entrance is close to the freeway so very convenient. read more

In my continuing search for a good park to spend time with family--- I came across this place by seeing other reviews for parks in the area! Anaheim Coves is a mini park with a walking area around a lake. It's fenced in to keep people away from the lake part. I really like the attempt to preserve what is already growing, and it also protects the wildlife to some degree. The location is 'off the normal path'; the best way to reach this place is off of Ball rd. Every person that we passed was super friendly! The only thing that was a drawback was the cleanliness--- it was a weekend so I'm not sure if they have someone picking up trash that day, but to see beer bottles from where some people hung out the night before isn't good when you have little ones running around to investigate anything that is on the ground. Overall is this is great place to take a morning walk/run/bike ride, the walkways are clearly marked to help cut down on accidents. Looking forward to coming back to this place again! read more

Dog friendly! Went on a weekday morning and found plenty of street parking on Rio Vista st. The paved areas are pretty and flat, you are basically walking between residential homes (at certain points) and the "lake". Yes, it is fenced off but the fencing is nice, black fencing with pictures of birds/wildlife in it. That is, until you go further down (parking where Lincoln is) and it becomes ugly ol' chain link. The Anaheim Coves trail is actually only on the nice, paved side. You can make a loop by going across to the other side, that side is all dirt, is not as nice but you do get to walk between the "lake" and the Santa Ana "river". That side is technically part of the Santa Ana River trail bikeway which goes on forever. Doing the full lake loop though gets you about 3.5miles, which is decent. Overall, nice place for locals, probably won't come back, not really any hills but I liked that the trail at least had some length to it. read more

After moving to the area, my husband and I were interested in finding outdoor trails (if you have any recommendations - send them my way). We weren't really sure what to expect, because as you turn in, it's a bit confusing, but there is a map on their website to help you understand where to park. There's not a lot of available parking on either side of the coves, it's like 11 spots on one side and 14 on the other, but it's a nice paved stroll. I think it was about 3 miles all together. They've got some bird watching spots and some fitness signs that involved QR codes (which I don't know too much about). It was ok, but I do prefer park settings and I don't think I'd be comfortable running this alone. read more

Hidden gym! I came across this picturesque cove when I was searching for a pet friendly trail for my little bully. It's a paved trail, the landscape design is beautiful and it's clean. A great place to get a lil nature into your day. It has a nice trail along the water. Very beautiful natural landscaping you feel like you are on a camping trail. Walk, run or bike. It has some hills and the trail is longer than you'd think. Bring water there is a bathroom by the golf lake. read more

​I was surprised how short this was. It was really short... I was expecting waaay more (which I probably shouldn't have). I brought my dog and took him off the leash because no one was there. The paved road didn't last long, so I went behind the trail. The fun of that didn't last too long either since it was dead and there was no sign of life. It was pretty creepy though... If you end up going on​ the back trail as I did... Let me warn you that if you go all the way down to the street, you can't exit to go back to where you parked because there's a golf course. I tried going around, but it wasn't worth it since walking all the way to the street from the back of the trail was considerably far, and going around to figure out how to get through to my car would be far as well. As much as I didn't want to take the same way back to my car, I backtracked​ and used the same lifeless and questionable trail. When I got back to the Anaheim​ Cove, few suspicious people were there watching as I passed. One of them, who seemed homeless greeted me with a breathy "hey" and flashed me implying eyes. I was scared shitless and GTFO. When you're in the Anaheim Cove, it's beautiful because the plants are stretched taller than you, which means people from outside the coves can't see you either. So whatever suspicious things happen there... is a good place for suspicion​. But this place is also good for running! Nice and flat and no one is around. read more

Anaheim Coves is a gem among parks! A nice place to head to take a walk, this place is decidedly out-of-the-way. This is where you should go if what you want is a wonderful walking venue :-) This park not only a wonderful place to stroll, but it's dog-friendly too! If you walk the length of the place, it's a good 3 or 4 miles; there are even benches to sit on if you like bird watching birds :-) Tip: There's isn't even a smidge of shade here, so come prepared with a hat, and be sure that you've go water with you as well. read more

I will give it five star because this place is gorgeous, really nice trail for walking BUT sweet Jesus, the bathrooms although nice bathrooms but horrendous disgusting, not clean, I needed to use it and would not then I tried to go to the mans, it was just as bad. People, you should be ashamed of yourselves, no pride, no respect and it also goes for the maintenance folks, you're getting paid to keep it clean so do it. read more

I'm from out of town and when I go out of town I like to keep up with my exercise regimen, and my exercise is cardio. I always like to look for places to run wherever I visit. After much searching at many of the local parks in the Fullerton area, I settled upon the Anaheim Coves. Parking was not an issue. I successfully went for a run on the well paved trail. There were lots of other people there, all friendly. Nice to see people getting their kids out of the house to get some exercise. It's a nice quiet area to either bike, go for a walk, or run. I enjoyed my workout here and I'd come back. read more

Sadly, I haven't been here in 2 years. I started coming here shortly before I moved from Anaheim to Torrance, so I sure miss it. I used to go jogging here when I first started getting into running again. It was awesome coming here around 8:30am and jogging/speed walking for the next hour or two. I would go all the way to the very end of the trail by the golf course, then back to the parking lot/entrance on Lincoln Ave. I remember the place was very clean. So many interesting plants and shrubs along the trail. It was so refreshing! I should really stop by some time. It's been too long! read more

I live close to here and I like to pop in for a couple miles and then continue on through the neighborhoods around it. If you are looking for a long trail this might not be the spot for you. Its a pretty quick jog and or walk from one end of Lincoln to where the driving range is on Ball road. It comes with a decent view of water on one side of you which makes for a nice little change of scenery from the dry river bed that is also nearby. The trail offers drinking fountains and bathrooms along the way, with some turn outs to rest for a bit if you need to. There are about four entrances along the way so if you park off Rio Vista you can still access the trail. They offer a nice paved trail to run. People that run/walk this trail are always nice and friendly and I never hesitate to wave and say hello. The area around this spot is heavy residential so this is a nice little get away from running the neighborhoods. I usually like to do about 5-6 miles when I am walking/running so this is a nice little addition to make part of my route. I tend to drink quite a bit of water so knowing there are bathrooms here when needed is great. If you have not been here and live in the area, check it out. I wouldn't go out of your way if you live far but if you are local not a bad spot at all. CHEERS!!! read more

Awesome addition to the local community. I've always just ran around the streets around here so when I discovered this awesome new little trail, I was pretty excited. It's new. It's clean. It's well lit. There's drinking fountains and bathrooms along the way. From my doorstep I've done both a 3 and 5 mile run. You can do a circuit and get as much mileage as you need. The neighborhood is safe and parking is never a problem. read more

Anaheim Coves provides an enjoyable place for a brisk walk in the afternoon. The sights and sounds of the local bird community are definitely more relaxing than anything in my immediate neighborhood. The trail does get a little busy the closer you get to sunset as more folks get off work. The last time I was there a sweet older lady was pushing her cat in a stroller. She challenged my dogs to a race. I said, "You can't handle THIS, crazy lady!!!" ...And then I power walked away into the sunset, pumping my arms like a pro, leaving her in my glitter dust. read more

This small little trail is so perfect for a walk, bike ride or run. They have mile markers for one mile on the ground. Rabbits hop by for encouragement as you try to reach your fitness goal. It opens by 630am and closes at sunset. Not a lot of parking so be aware you might to find parking somewhere . Bathrooms by gate and drinking fountain. read more

I've only run here once, but I'm definitely coming back soon! I typically run around my neighborhood in Anaheim, but I wanted to change it up. My neighbors told me about this little trail and when I finally found it, I loved it! It's clean and fairly new, with water fountains, benches, and lights along the way. Online it says it's a mile and a half long. When I was running there was even a security guard walking around. If he's there all the time, that's a huge plus! It seems pretty popular, as there were a good amount of people walking along the way. I saw a mixture of older men/women and young families walking leisurely, very athletic runners, and people like me who are trying to fight nature's big F-U of a reduced metabolism once you hit 25. read more

The views here are phenomenal. It's only a 3 mile walk round-trip, but you can add terrain by walking by the marsh one end where it's dirt. They have benches throughout with poems(?) about birds. They have restrooms on either end and trash cans throughout. There were many other walkers on a Monday morning and everyone was friendly. There was also a cross country team that was training. Overrated fenced trail along recharge ponds. It's a great entryway to Santa Ana river but this trail itself is rather underwhelming.

I am always trying to find a good hiking place or a good dog walking place for exercise. I look for parking, atmosphere, view, land, and how clean and quiet the area is. I happened to stumble up on Anaheim Coves, which was beautiful, the roads are clean, the trash is picked up, dog friendly, a reservoir in the middle, great landscapes. Not too far from me either, parking on the street. It is very relaxing and hidden. read more

This is a truly great use of the space! Fair warning, the trail itself is not exactly 1.5 miles, so you will have to jog/walk/bike to the end of the parking lot on the fair end to make an even 3 miles. Parking can get to be a tad bit of an issue, but usually you'll be able to find a spot. Bathrooms and drinking fountains on both entrances. Its very well landscaped and good for dogs/little kids. If you're into that kind of thing (read: nerd) there is a typo on the sign at the Lincoln entrance. read more

Tried this trail out this morning, Monday around 7am. There were quite a few people and about half of them weren't wearing masks. I did appreciate that the trail is open for use and has enough space (7/6). Even though it's paved, the greenery and lake made it a beautiful natural setting to walk. I parked a bit before Cove church and found multiple openings / entries to the trail. I turned right on the path and walked about a half mile to the end and a half mile back. read more
