Had to kill some time as I was dropping off a vehicle to get repaired and Anna's restaurant was close by. Very surprised I've never been there before cause it's been there for 10 years. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised to walk in and find a nice clean open space I was greeted by Ana who is also taking orders and waiting on people. I ordered taco plate and an enchilada plate with red and green. Both were really good. Everything was fresh. My only complaint would be that the tortillas for the enchiladas were not quite cooked enough.(not crispy at all.) . Would highly recommend this place to everyone. read more

Here we area agin, at one of our absolutely favorite eating establishments in all of New Mexico. Ana's Kitchen. Great food and impeccable service from Ana herself. You want to go there if only to meet Ana - she is delightful and living the American dream. We had a variety of superb food, but some of us go there only for the machaca - not found in many places in our city. Others prefer the chilaquiles, and Chuck raved about the pork chops. Went for lunch this week to try out this little north valley spot. I went years ago and couldn't remember if I liked or not. First off it's off the path of normal traffic which is nice cause it wasn't busy. I was greeted immediately by a lady who was super friendly. It is a small intimate spot which is perfect for their breakfast and lunch menu. I had the huevos rancheros with green chile. My go to meal to rate a restaurant. I also got the salsa and guacamole to start. The guac was fresh and delicious just very small, the salsa was good and chips good also. The Huevos were delicious and so was the chile. I did not enjoy the beans but that's just me. Also wasn't a fan of the brand of tortillas they use but again just a personal preference. I will definitely go back for lunch since it's close to my work and away from the fast food trap. I recommend you try and test for yourself the prices are worth the try. There is nothing fancy about this mom and pop hole in the wall restaurant. It is a tiny restaurant but a gem in the north valley. It is like walking into your grandmas kitchen for a bite to eat. We were greeted by a young woman with a huge smile. The menu is small just like the dining room. The prices are super reasonable. For us the portions are just right and fit the price. If you have a huge appetite you might find it small but we found it just right. The plates run between $8-10. But the flavors are just like grandmas. After reading the generally good reviews here, we were excited to try it out. Man, were we disappointed. My wife had a relleno; she said looked like it had come straight out of the deep fryer and plopped on the plate without draining the cooking oil. Her tamal was no better. I had cheese enchiladas Xmas style. Neither chile had any flavor at all, and it was impossible to tell one from the other. And I'd bet a dollar they came from a can. The rice and beans were also unremarkable. When we pulled into the parking lot and saw only one car (and this was lunchtime), we should have listened to our gut and kept moving. My wife and I stopped by Ana's Kitchen on Monday, 24 Mar 2025. I haven't been to this place since the late 1970's. The Huevos Rancheros were really good meals and the tamale too. Ana was very nice. I don't know who the lady cook was, but the food was worth it. Will go back again. read more

Stumbled upon this little hole in the wall and stopped in for lunch. The young lady that waited on us was pleasant and asked if we wanted chips & salsa. "Of course" I said. The complimentary chips & salsa tasted unique. The chips were freshly fried. The salsa was not too hot, with kind of a lemony aftertaste. We ordered: * Huevos rancheros, they came with whole beans, hash brown potatoes and freshly made tortilla. * Large green chile stew. It came with whole beans, potatoes, ground beef, and a freshly made flour tortilla. The dining area & restrooms were clean. There was not a lot of decor, more like an old time diner atmosphere. But the food was the real deal and it wasn't too expensive. Our check was about $13.00 for the two of us. read more

Just basically a family run establishment, the kind which flourished years ago, and are being supplanted by big chains and corporations from coast to coast. Great food on a low budget. It is what it is! Nice hole in the wall restaurant locally owned and Operated. Thick slices of bacon with fluffy eggs surrounded by perfectly sliced potatoes smothered in cheese and some of New Mexico's finest green chili. WoW! Now don't expect fine dining- no that is not what this is... You got mom in there cooking you a meal- a meal that will provide you the energy to get shit done type of meal. If you are in town to visit or live here it should be on your must do! It tops all chain breakfast joints, Twisters and even Blakes. First of all, this is a blue collar workers diner. Nothing fancy about this place. BUT, if you're looking for food like grandma, your mom, or whoever used to make - this is the place for you. I have ate there a few ties for breakfast, but wether it's the Fireman's Special, Huevos Ranchero, or Huevos con Carne Adovada it's all been really good and absolutely delicious. This is the best bargain in town. We had two fire mans special (two eggs, 3 bacon, hash browns, tortilla, and green chile) and two coffees for just under 14 bucks with tax. It's a family friendly place and because it is off the beaten path I've never had to wait. Seriously, do not judge a book by its cover. From the outside it looks small. But once inside it holds 12-14 tables. I've been waited on by Ana herself and Rose and the service is always good. Food comes out quick and nice and hot. read more

Do. Not. Waste. Your. Money. NOT CLEARLY POSTED: Cash only. Worst huevos rancheros ever. Almost flavorless green chile, pale yellow eggs, runniest refried beans I've ever been served, fake butter, cheap bread, weak chicory-tasting coffee, no soap or hot water in the only bathroom that employees also use. The only good thing was the friendly server. 37 years in NM & I usually love little mom-n-pop places, but NOT THIS ONE. Seriously--please close. read more
