Great service. It was a hot day but everything was still yummy. I thought I wasn't going to like the potato's but they were actually really really good. Flavors were all there and I didn't have to ask for any extra sauce.

Split a carne adovada and green chile chicken enchiladas with a friend for dinner since neither of us could decide what to get. Super cute interior and very cozy. Waitress brought fresh chips and salsa and then fresh sopapillas. Both the salsa and carne adovada were much spicier than we expected but delicious. Green chile enchilada also had a decent kick to it but not as much as the adovada. Meat was a bit on the dry side and I wish I had more chile to wet it, but still tasty and very hearty. Really enjoyed the potatoes.

    Simple and delicious.

I got my Sunday treat from El Patio today, and I was highly surprised of the flavors and how wonderful it was. I had the Ground Beef Enchiladas rolled Christmas style. Nice. The Sopaipilla was different from others, it had a sweet taste to it, yummy. I do recommend this place for future New Mexicans and other's visiting the state of New Mexico. This was a Doordash order, and I loved it.

Eat where the locals eat. We had a quick lunch here and received prompt service, sitting on the patio under the trees. I had to go with the #1 best seller, the Green Chile Chicken Enchiladas. It was a simple dish with yummy flavors. Pretty much every dish is served with a side of sopapillas, fresh and warm, to enjoy topped with honey. I recommend it!

El Patio wasn't initially in my first round as I wanted places that were open in 1937 and/or had 1,000 reviews but the stuffed sopapilla was a knockout. I came to New Mexico specifically for green chile but a delightfully incendiary red-and-green combo is probably the best way to go. The service was super-informative. There was no "I like everything"; after I explained my parameters the waiter narrowed down the lengthy menu to two top choices.

Dinner here last night was really good. We waited out front for a little bit before we were seated. Once we were inside, we tried a few beers and decided on one from a local brewery. Chips and salsa were both good. I was very happy with the El Patio Combination. Even though the flat cheese and onion enchiladas are a little strange...I guess not really being filled is what makes them flat..the flavor was good. My Chile relleno and taco were both delicious too. My wife had the same feeling about her enchiladas as well. Sopapillas that accompany the meal made for a yummy dessert. Service was friendly and there when we needed it. Good place to stop for pretty authentic New Mexican food,

This is one of our favorite places to eat in Albuquerque. The staff are friendly and the service is quick and efficient. Enchiladas--so good! Chile cheese fries--so good! Green chile stew--so good! And the sopapillas are the perfect end to the meal. Chef's kiss!

I'm traveling through town and searched for local favorites, specifically Mexican and found this local spot. I loved it. I was seated quickly, just beat the rush. The green chicken enchiladas were real good. The potatoes on the side added a nice home cooked feel.

Frito Pie with red chili. Comes with choice of red or green chili and only beans, no meat.

The frito pie came with the choice or red or green chili, with no meat included. Would have liked to have some meat. Was hoping they had fry bread but no success. Service was good and welcoming. I like they have Mexican bottled cokes.

This place is AMAZING! The chili is the best ever. I wish they had a recipe cookbook. The pancakes are incredible! The restaurant is small & quaint and not set up for large parties. It's a cozy, house like atmosphere. Ryan was our server and did a wonderful job. They get busy so make sure to take a little extra time! Can't wait to come back. We came back two days in a row it was so delicious!

Best restaurant in Albuquerque, probably New Mexico, possibly the entire American southwest. If you live north of Lomas or east of San Pedro, stay in your suburban hellscape, it's already too crowded. Stick to Chilis or whatever it is you enjoy.

Great food, attentive staff, cool use of an old bungalow as a restaurant. El Patio checked a lot of boxes, all in the right way. Recommend as an appetizer the frito pie with red chilies . Beer and limited cocktails available to wash that down. A limited number of mains but they are all excellent. My chicken enchiladas were very saucy, rich, and filling. Decent sopapillas too. Only negative--parking but what do you expect, it is right across from UNM.

Directly across the street from University of New Mexico's main entrance, this place is packed when school is in session. This place is huge, but not at first glance. Walk into the retro-looking, Western themed dining room, and you'll see a huge menu board above the order counter. There is are several freestyle soda machines in the middle of the room. There are little digital screens in the corner where you watch for your order number and a counter in the corner where you go pick up your food. It's not until you go into the next room that you discover there is another "next room," and then another. There is a lot of art on the walls, including several John Wayne pictures. The girl at the counter who took our order was an absolute ray of sunshine--so friendly and sweet. We ordered the green chili cheeseburger with onion rings and the daily special which is the "green pile-up" (beans, hash browns, scrambled egg, and green chili beef). The good came our talented quickly, and was quite yummy. Frontier is an Albuquerque classic. If it old? Yes, but it has a huge faithful following, not including the things of UNM students that pack this giant diner during the school year. It may not be a "must try" for some, but if you want Albuquerque nostalgia, this is your place. Btw--it's pretty darn cheap,!

The food came really quick, within 5-7 min. It was delicious!! The diced pork wasn't dry and blended perfectly in their flavorful red chile sauce. I tried the green chile sauce too, and it's fantastic but does carry some heat (just a nice warm glow not blazing hot). The potatoes, scrambled eggs, and beans bursted with flavor in the chile sauce. The sides were plentiful in quantity. If you are in downtown Albuquerque, you have to try Baca Boys!!
