Visiting town for work and decided to make a reservation for dinner with a colleague. We would highly recommend a reservation because it was pretty packed around 6 PM when we went. We were greeted by friendly hosts and sat right away. Before talking about the food, I want to give a major shout out to our server Marina, who was very attentive and for the couple of issues we had, she apologized and made sure they were handled right away. We started with the guacamole and salsa as well as the mushroom tostadas for our appetizers. Marina even offered additional chips for the salsa that we had left. For my entrée, I ordered the shrimp Al Carbon, it usually comes with chorizo, but I got it without it and still enjoyed it. Even with full Restaurant, it wasn't too loud, and the bar was buzzing with hotel guests and those eating at the bar throughout. I enjoyed my experience and would recommend y'all check it out, too!

    Two orders of tacos here.

The location is beautiful, bright, chic and inside of the Hilton Curio Collection Hotel which is stunning. This restaurant isn't just a food stop, it's an experience! We stoped by on a whim and ended up having one of the top 3 steaks of my life. And when I say that, I am a STEAK EATER... This steak was *chefs kiss* And literally nothing else mattered. lol But the staff was amazing, the sides were ok. My partner wasn't fond of the lime flavor on the rice, and I agree it was overwhelming too. But.... That STEAK!! Be careful with the salt/pepper tower. It will spill if you're not. The mushrooms weren't bad, the tortillas were amazing! we ordered room service the next day because the food was so good. It didn't disappoint!

Excellent dining/service and social time at the bar top. I arrived early to snag a bar seat as I knew from past experience it would get busy. Excellent cocktail (Andaluz Manhattan) and Guacamole & Salsa app to start. I was able to sip and observe others food items pass by to assist in my choice. I had the Enchilada (Wagyu) entree which was a worthy hearty serving. Lydiana and Ava were cheerful and professional behind the bar. They crushed providing the busy service bar w drinks too, as the dining room was busy. ABQ is my halfway stop enroute to DEN, and this will be a routine stop.

This restaurant is located on the ground floor of a beautiful Hilton Hotel adjacent to the ABQ Convention Center. I was there for breakfast. The service was impeccable....our every need/want attended to promptly. I had the delicious Strawberry French Toast, made on a brioche bread. I did add scrambled eggs to my order for a bit of protein. Perfectly prepared and fluffy, it was a nice addition.

Jessica was an amazing server. The food was absolutely amazing and so were the drinks! Highly recommend Char.

The food was amazing! It was a special evening and we wanted to try a restaurant we hadn't been to before. Our server, Chris took exceptional care of us which made our experience even more special. I could tell that Char is not a usual restaurant and not overly designed. IMHO, the ambiance is close to European simple design. Nothing gaudy here. I'll be back just to sit comfortably at the bar. Elevated New Mexican cuisine.

    Fish tacos were bomb!

Always great service, very clean, the bartenders are friendly and on it! Food is always great! Highly recommend staying at Hotel Andaluz or at least visiting Char for a great meal and excellent drinks.

Pretty darn good. We just got into down, checked into our place, and couldnt wait to take our uber to the Char. We had heard good things about this new spot in town and had high hopes. The entry was inviting as we arrived. A guy was playing some acoustic guitar at the entrance. After a short wait we got our table in their beautiful large room. Out attentive server was on top of things and had our order out pronto. I had gotten a few small dishes, starting with a flight of salsas. That was fun. Then the green chili stew and mushroom tostadas came out. Both were fantastic. The beverages were very good. And overall we had a nice time. It's already one of the best spots in town.

Awesome meal at Char in Albuquerque. Restaurant was attached to our hotel so we had to try it based on reviews and recommendations. The food and service were great! I had a Branzino which was exactly what I was craving. My wife and daughter enjoyed their respective meals as well. Would recommend this place to others

We were blown away by the ambiance and presentation at this restaurant. Our filet stayed perfectly warm on the hot stone. At the end of the meal, the dessert menu was presented to us inside a smoke-filled glass dome.

This is a great little restaurant inside a hotel near the convention center and Oldtown Albuquerque. The restaurant was beautifully designed and ample seating and a small bar area. I ordered the grilled romaine salad with a carne asada add on. The wilted style salad was fresh and had some type of nuts included. I also had a great local wheat beer from Santa Fe. The bartender was the host and server as it looks like they were short handed. Overall, I would return for this great place just off the main drag in downtown.

Most likely the best steak restaurant in the city! From the food to the presentation, everything is dialed in! The salsa flight was delicious with a great selection of local flavors! Recommend this place for special occasions!

I ordered the cinnamon roll, frozen horchata, green chile stew (comes with a warm tortilla), and adovada taco. The total comes out to less than $20! In this economy?! That's amazing. The most expensive item of my item was the iced horchata, which was good. The food still takes the spotlight though. The cinnamon roll could use a TINY bit more cinnamon and brown sugar, but is still pretty good. I'd definitely come back here.

Directly across the street from University of New Mexico's main entrance, this place is packed when school is in session. This place is huge, but not at first glance. Walk into the retro-looking, Western themed dining room, and you'll see a huge menu board above the order counter. There is are several freestyle soda machines in the middle of the room. There are little digital screens in the corner where you watch for your order number and a counter in the corner where you go pick up your food. It's not until you go into the next room that you discover there is another "next room," and then another. There is a lot of art on the walls, including several John Wayne pictures. The girl at the counter who took our order was an absolute ray of sunshine--so friendly and sweet. We ordered the green chili cheeseburger with onion rings and the daily special which is the "green pile-up" (beans, hash browns, scrambled egg, and green chili beef). The good came our talented quickly, and was quite yummy. Frontier is an Albuquerque classic. If it old? Yes, but it has a huge faithful following, not including the things of UNM students that pack this giant diner during the school year. It may not be a "must try" for some, but if you want Albuquerque nostalgia, this is your place. Btw--it's pretty darn cheap,!

Next, the entry door is no longer facing the street. It is on the north wall of the building off the entry to the parking lot. The entrance sign is just sharpie or pen on paper and very faded. Once inside this small converted residence there are two dining rooms. The first was full but there was open seating in the second. There isn't a lot on the walls so the room echoes your conversation to everyone in the room. A bit more art on the walls and the diner vibe would really make itself known. The food. The NYT recently put Mary and Tito's in their 41 best list in the US so I had very high expectations. Usually my wife and I order a single item and share the meal. This time we ordered knowing we'd have take home leftovers. I ordered the Mexican Turnover Combination with beef. This is a pastry crust folded over a combination of ground beef, rice and beans. I ordered the red chile with this. My wife ordered the cheese enchiladas with green chile, rice and beans. This came with a lot of chopped green chile, not a sauce. Overall it was ok, but the beans and chopped chile put down so much liquid it rapidly became a soggy texture less mess. My turnover was tasty and the red chile also ok but not up to the rave reviews I've heard. At this time, I'd rate it the third best red I've had in NM. (See my review for La Cocina in Espanola for my pick for best Red chile in NM- so far anyway ) Overall, I'm glad we finally got the opportunity to dine at this local institution. When we do give it another try, I'm going to follow the recommendation for chicarones and pork adovado. Actual rating 3.5 stars.

This charming little bistro near the south end of Old Town is elegant, welcoming, and truly a hidden gem. Having convenient on-site parking was a nice bonus, and we were warmly welcomed as soon as we arrived. Our server, Christopher, made the evening even more memorable. He was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He also took the time to recommend several local restaurants and places to visit, which we really appreciated. We started with the mussels, and they were outstanding--fresh, tender, and served in a rich, spicy butter broth with perfectly toasted crusty bread for dipping. My cedar plank salmon was cooked beautifully, full of flavor, and paired with a delicious chorizo risotto. My husband ordered the filet mignon, and after trying a bite, I can understand why he said it was one of the best steaks he's ever had. The mushroom risotto and seasonal vegetables were the perfect complement, and the fresh salad with homemade dressing was a great start to the meal. To top off the evening, the staff surprised me with a three-flavor sherbet dessert complete with a birthday candle and a thoughtful personalized birthday card. It was such a sweet touch that made me feel truly celebrated. We couldn't leave without trying the German chocolate cake, and it was the perfect ending to an unforgettable dinner. Everything from the food to the service exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to come back and try more of the menu the next time we're in town.
