I have lived in Tempe,Chandler, Gilbert and have had a few vet experiences but I will forever travel to this vet for care. He spent so much time with our recently adopted pound hound and discovered a knee joint issue and recommended preventative care in order To prevent but probably prolong the issue of a potential surgery. They also call and text follow-ups from appointments. I was struggling to know if I was getting ear drops in far enough to ear canal and the VET actually called back as well as techs. I can't praise this practice enough. We will forever be Anasazi patients for all my babies. read more

So we've been customers of Anasazi for over 10 years and seen this place go through several different rounds of vets including changing ownership along the way. We stuck with it through it all but have decided to move on. Quality of care is pretty good overall. But, I feel that the current ownership pushes more for extracting as much money as possible out of their clients versus actually listening to them. We had a nearly 11 year old tibetan mastiff losing weight and suffering from multiple issues including both repeat urinary tract infections (leading to incontinence) and fecal incontinence (which was particularly great with small children). Her quality of life was honestly drastically diminished from even a year or two back. When we brought up the possibility of euthanasia Dr. Langeneckert didn't even acknowledge it and instead came back with nearly $500 of suggested tests and things to try. I'm all for treating an animal who is ailing, but when a geriatric dog is suffering and the veterinary profession seems more interested in prolonging their life, I just don't get it to be honest (and my mind goes to the rather negative place of simply assuming this is driven more by generating business and billing than doing what is right for the customer and/or the animal). We ended up making the difficult decision to euthanize via another vet but the whole experience left such a bad taste in our mouth we'll be taking our other dog (and any in the future) to another vet moving forward. So yes, you'll definitely get decent care here, but expect to be pressured to spend as much money as possible. read more

GOOGLE map was sending me to Guadalupe / Country club. 2-2-2021 - Brought our cat (Raelin almost 3yrs old) to this vet. Dr. Sharon L was kind and honest about her health especially her teeth which was the reason I brought her for a second opinion. According to Dr.Sharon L (Anazazi clinic) - on a scale of 1-4 ... Raelin's tartar build up is about 1 and therefore no need to worry. Oasis Animal hospital's review on Raelin was her teeth was in bad shape and needed cleaning. I told the technician @ Oasis clinic that wasn't discussed with the vet but why was it in her report. She couldn't give me an answer. Never going back to OASIS Animal hospital again which is much closer to my home because this is a 2nd time I brought my cat here but was not happy with the feedback and care she got. read more

I brought my 6 month old Doberman to get some shots and due to covid I couldn't come inside but the doctor actually called me to discuss things about my baby over the phone! She was very informative and I feel my puppy was in good hands. My prior vet experience was at banfield and they're clearly not too dedicated to making the dog comfortable... this vet was very good, 10/10 I'll recommend them and continue to bring my baby here too!! read more

This is a review for the laser declaw. The laser declaw is a good price, however, I am not convinced that it is better than standard declawing. When we brought our cat home, she did not have bandages, which is nice, however, she was limping and had bleeding from her paws almost immediately. We had to take her to have this fixed the same day. So we took her to a vet that is in our neighborhood. He checked her records and said that the antibiotic Anasazi gave her was for the surgery only. If her wounds were to re-open, she might get an infection. The neighborhood vet gave her a antibiotic that lasted for two weeks. About a week later, one of her paws opened again. She hadn't been doing any vigorous activity during this time. Overall, I was very confused about why laser declawing was marketed as preferential and is pricier. read more

My mini daschund has severe periodontal disease and Dr. Evans has been wonderful in helping relieve Frodo's pain thus making a happy and healthy 11 yr old pooch! I saw her for the first time in Jan. 2014 when visiting AZ. They have an state-of-the-art dental equipment, like their X-ray machine which found left behind chips of tooth imbedded in his gums from a surgery probably in early 2013. She also had to pull several more teeth because they were infected so badly. Today I saw Dr. Ruiz who helped me go with a more conservative route, since it hasn't been that long since his deep dental treatment. We'll see if we can control Frodo's new infection. If it doesn't work we will have to do an anesthetic deep dental cleaning again to try and save his canine teeth. It's pretty much all he has left after years of pulling teeth :( The staff is very friendly and knowledgable, the office is clean and they have the coolest cats walking around. One kitty actually walked up to my dog and rubbed its head against my dogs head - I have never see that before and I am glad my dog is friendly - lol It's a great place to go! read more

This place is very expensive and that's my only complaint. They call a lot (and I don't mean follow ups) trying to "remind" you to come in for services you may or may not need wanting to keep that business coming in the door. If money is no object then this is your place. You'll of course receive good care here. I've taken cats here on and off over the last 10 years or so and they always receive what they need. I'm confident in their care. It's always been a good experience. It's just the money. Getting hit with that caught living in Gilbert tax isn't fun. Businesses think everyone in Gilbert is well off I guess. Just this month I wanted to get a battery of shots for a cat and their price was over $200. The Spay and Neuter chain in the valley only charged me $61 for the exact same shots. You can't make appointments for the shots there and you'll have to stand in a line if you don't get there early, but look at that savings. Enough said. There are other options just blocks away. read more

I went in to have my GF's pomeranian's teeth looked at as they were smelly and all jacked up. We pretty much wanted to know how much it would cost just to have them all pulled as we felt they were affecting his breathing too. Their quoted price was way more than other places. We switched to Anasazi from another local vet in the East Valley and couldn't be happier. The staff at this clinic are so kinda and genuinely act like they care about our puppy. Our lab had gotten pretty sick with an unknown cause then quickly got sick again with kennel cough. Both times we were able to get him in quickly. Then, while at the appointment the vet was very thorough and caring. We liked all technicians and front office staff. The vet even called us personally a few times checking on him to make sure he was okay! read more

Our first experience with the clinic was when our dear family pet had to be put to sleep. It was obviously a very sad time for us, and we found the staff at the clinic to be very sympathetic and they treated the situation with compassion and were careful to advise us on our options, then respect our choices. A few months ago we adopted a dog from a rescue shelter and took him to Anasazi for his shots and check-up. We were again pleased with our experience with the staff, who offered advice and treated our pet as the adorable pooch he is. I found their prices to be what I've seen elsewhere except for the nail-trim which was a whopping 20 bucks! Next time I'm going to Petco where they'll do it for $7. Very very pleased with this vet! We've been to many over the years and all seem to have hidden or unnecessary costs. Last week our dog ate nine rocks (first time in 9 years) and Dr. Lee was fantastic with us. Not only did she give us our options, but after we decided on surgery for the last rock that would not pass, she called and checked in daily and ensured our dog was recovering well. Worst experience ever, I wouldn't take another one of my pets here if they were the last animal clinic in the state! Charged us nearly $4000.00 and misdiagnosed our Princess with pancreatitis and had her on 7 or 8 different meds and her condition only got worse over the next month. So she was finally sent for an ultrasound scan which I originally asked to have done when I first brought Princess in to Anasazi and they refused my request and denied the ultrasound because it wasn't part of the standard procedure, but in vet terms that just meant that they wanted to rack up the bill first which they did for a sum of almost $4000.00 and it turned out that after the ultrasound we needed to see a specialist who then broke the news in less than 24hrs that Princess has only been suffering all this time and it was necessary to end her pain & suffering by putting her to sleep since Anasazi misdiagnosed her condition for almost 2 months while bleeding our finances not too mention all the wrong meds they prescribed for her that just added to her suffering we had less than a few hours to say good bye to our beloved Princess and to think that we had been charged nearly $4000.00 so our Princess could suffer her last 2 months alive and then we had to come up with another almost $2000.00 from the specialist just to get her actual correct diagnosis which wasn't pancreatitis but in stead it was a terminal lymphoma cancer of her liver and lower intestine. It was also brought to our attention that Anasazi should have known from the start what Princess's condition truly was but there was no money to be made if they came right out and told us right from the start!!! Then after we contacted care credit about what had happened, it was investigated and Anasazi's attorney immediately started the whole denial process. What a joke of an animal clinic Anasazi turned out to be, careless, thoughtless, heartless, and scandaless, they are a business when it comes down to it and your animals best interest will only be considered by the amount of $$$$$ their condition will cost you! The staff was usually very friendly...but, if one encounters a "misunderstanding," expect a hassle. I took notice on a few occasions of the front office being somewhat unorganized; with an unprofessional lack of communication between ALL staff members...whether it be misplaced paperwork, lost urine samples, or refusal to contact the clinic's owners upon customer request. Though they were very loving toward my pet, and treated him with the utmost respect (as far as I'm aware of)...I found their services to be extremely pricey, and am still a little speculative when it comes to what exactly I was charged for. After fileting my furniture and person, I decided it was time...I called several places around town who quoted me upwards of $700 for the surgery. I ended up at Anasazi b/c they charged $350. We were visiting from Ohio with our 5 lb. toy poodle when he was attacked around the neck by a larger dog. We were beside ourselves. A friend recommended the Anasazi Clinic which worked us in as soon as possible. Everyone there from the receptionist, technicians, assistants and Dr. Smart were just fabulous. I had a great experience here recently with my dog, Zona. Non-stop itching and scratching sent me to them after seven days of misery and sleepless nights. My dog has some aggressive behavior and does not do well at places like the Vet. Anasazi was very friendly upon my arrival and got me right into a private room, the veterinarian was very knowledgeable and they were not pushy at all when it came to costs or services recommended. Dr. Halterman and Dr. Nossaman are both very kind, professional women who treat my kitties as if they were their own. The staff is also incredibly friendly and kind to my pets. Their service is always timely and affordable. I also love that my kitty cat kids get a "report card" complete with stickers highlighting the details of each visit. I've also brought my kitties here for boarding, which is affordable and convenient. I would recommend this vet to anyone with a kitty! This clinic referred me to Dr. Alan Mafara for an orthopedic procedure and while very nice, he is NOT an orthopedic specialist and not certified in that field. Do your research and not just online as the advertising is misleading! The staff is very friendly and you can tell they genuinely care, and i'm sure they are great for vaccinations and euthanasia, but I would HIGHLY recommend you stay away for surgical procedures of that nature with this particular doctor. read more

We took our kitten here to get declawed and the experience was amazing. Helen Evans was our vet, she took the time to discuss everything with us, and genuinely cared about taking care of Sparta (our kitten). We chose to have her boarded after the procedure over the weekend (we have three other cats so easier option) and they took amazing care of her. The whole staff knew her, and told us what a joy it was to have her. If you are looking for a vet, we would highly recommend this clinic!!!!! If I could give a 0 or negative star for this business, I would. My boyfriend and I have four cats and after much frustration with scratching damage, we decided that de-clawing was an option. My sister had taken an outdoor cat that she had rescued to this clinic because they offered the laser de-clawing procedure and she recommended them to us. I will give this business this much credit: they were able to get in all four of our cats at the same time which made it a lot easier for us in terms of recovery time. However, what they gained in accommodation, they lost in everything else. Our appointment was changed, we were not given enough pain medication at the time of service (we had to return to pick up additional meds), we were never given the opportunity to set up follow-up appointments for the cats (which are included in the cost of the service), and we never received so much as a phone call regarding how they were doing. We did, however, receive a phone call that we owed them additional payment because they failed to charge us the correct amount in the first place. This call came two months after the surgeries were performed. Upon trying to get a straight answer from Lindsay as to how much we owed for the services, we were run around in circles. We are awaiting a detailed statement from this business with a total breakdown of services done and what exactly is owed before we give them any more money. ***Update: Upon receipt of the statement, we were able to see what the outstanding charges were for exactly. Even though each cat's bloodwork was listed within our original estimates, they failed (so they say) to charge us for it. Also, even after letting whoever I argued with on the phone regarding our balance know that we had never once received follow up calls regarding our cats' health, we have yet to get a single phone call from the vet. That is just bad customer service. I will be paying the outstanding balance, frankly because I don't want to have to endure collections or small claims court, but I would not recommend trusting these people. Whether this was a genuine mistake or not, I cannot say. All I know is that after the experience that we have had with this animal clinic, flubbed up charges and severe lack of customer service, I would recommend going somewhere else, like the Gilbert Veterinary Hospital. I took my dog there a couple times and the staff is phenomenal. Unfortunately the last time I took my dog was to easy his pain forever. Going through one of the most difficult things I've had to do was eased by the kind hearted staff there. Not only did I get full explanations of everything that was about to happen but you can tell they genuinely care not only about my dog but about me as well. They followed up to see how we were doing on my last night with my dog of over 13 years. After, I received a card with his paw print, a hand written note from each of the staff as well as a donation was made to the Phoenix Zoo in his name. I was looking for a place that specializes in canine dentistry. When I did an internet search Arizona Dog & Cat Dentistry popped up. Very official looking web page. When I showed up at the address I could not find the above business but found Anasazi Animal Clinic. Taking time off from work, I was not pleased with what I found. They do not have a Dental Specialist. They offered a free dental exam, which I accepted. But after questioning their false advertising claims the vet did not have time to see my dog. My 3 year old cat got declawed here and they literally treated her as if she was their own. I called at least 3 times a day to check up on her (she stayed an extra 3 days with them in boarding) and they answered all my questions. I was probably the most annoying client they had but they were so sweet to my needs and they seemed to love my kitty just as much as I do. Also the fact that they have the follow up check up puts me at ease knowing that she will be taken care of after I take her home. Her age was scary to me but she was back to normal a day after taking her home (4 days after surgery). Recommend this place to everyone for declaw. read more

We trusted Anasazi to spay our dogs safely, but they burned both puppies. One puppy was burned twice. After being pressured, they agreed to care for one of the dogs by paying for their treatment of the burns. The puppies were burned from the cheap warming blanket they used during surgery. They did not agree to pay until we asked and pressured them to pay. Very disappointing. Will never go back!!!!! read more

We took our pup here for a checkup. The staff was friendly but didn't seem very knowledgeable. They did not even know that my breed of dog was a shepherd. I set the appt up over a week in advance, so they could have done a little research to be prepared. They gave me misinformation about things that I asked them instead of just telling me they needed to do a little research first. Also, I am training my dog a specific way and specifically asked the vet not to give her commands. Not five minutes later she gave my dog commands and used a choke correction when taking her back for her shots. All in all, an inexpensive vet that might be good for someone just looking for inexpensive basic, simple procedures but maybe not a vet you would want caring for your pet on a lifelong basis. read more
