Update 11/21/21 Reviewing several years later and the quality of work on the brows is still excellent. There's use of a stencil, wax, trimming, and tweezing to get your brows to the perfect shape and I love them EVERY TIME I go. Absolutely no complains - there's a reason Anastasia is known as the Brow Queen. They've changed a few things since my last review; they finally have a website up to book appointments yourself and not call, and the $32 excludes tip now. The one thing they do need to work on is the website. I'm not sure if ABH runs the website or Sephora, but it is SO finicky. I have to confirm and refresh multiple times for my appointment to go through and you have to be careful not to double book when doing that or else you get incorrectly charged for a cancellation fee when you try to fix it and they don't really respond to resolve it. (I got mine resolved physically at Sephora). That in it of itself is so annoying I would have left my review at 4 stars but the service is just so unmatched that I didn't want to be overly punitive. I really hope they get the operational portion up to speed soon! BTW: it's also nice ABH brow studio has its own separate area on the second floor of Sephora so you have privacy and aren't just getting your brows done in the middle of a busy store. They do indeed use stencils, which is not as strange as I first thought it was. Yes, it's pricey compared to the $8 threading I used to get... Here are the reasons I splurge for Anastasia: 1. Consistency Because they use the stencils, I've ALWAYS left completely satisfied and happy with the shape of my brows. I no longer have to seek out the most talented or perfect employee. 2. Stencils I first saw Anastasia on some day time talk show and was really impressed with the results. I really love the stencil shape for my face and think whatever formula Anastasia came up with works! I get complimented a lot on the shape. 3. They can wax or tweeze. My eyebrows look better than they ever have, thanks to Emma!!! Mind you, mine were more sparse than the hair on Trump's head and uncommonly uneven. I typically stop by the $8 threading place, but since I was getting married, I decided to grow them out months in advance to be shaped properly. Unfortunately, I tried another eyebrow speciality boutique in my neighborhood that was more expensive, but the results left little to be happy about. Good thing my brows grew back enough for Emma to work her magic. She gave my brows the shape and evenness I never had before! I've gone back twice and each time have been impressed. My now husband, kept saying to me, "You look different! Really great! Something is different..." Great brows make a difference! My email to corporate: I have been a Sephora rouge member for three years. In addition to this, I have also been frequently visiting the Sephora fifth avenue location to do brows at the ANASTASIA studio. I am also 37 weeks pregnant. After arriving twenty minutes to my appointment and then completing my appointment, I needed to go to the bathroom. I was not allowed to use the bathroom by the employees upstairs. In fact, I was told to go to the Starbucks two blocks away which requires me to make another purchase in order to use the bathroom. This is discriminatory and I will be looking into the laws or regulations of how your company can operate a spa-like store without giving your customers a bathroom. Your services are also not that cheap, folks should be able to use the bathroom. I spoke to someone downstairs and they said that the bathrooms have been recently locked with alarm codes and that it's a corporate issue. This is absolutely unreal in New York where. It's hard to find a bathroom. Highly discriminatory and messed up. read more

I started going to Anastasia Brow Studio 3 years ago after routine visits to a local eyebrow threading salon was slowly leaving me short of an eyebrow....and there, at Anastasia, I met Hasije. Be forewarned - Anastasia uses a stencil to do your eyebrows so regardless of what you ask, they will just go by the stencil and don't have the expertise to do what you ask if it doesn't fit the stencil. the brow expert i had really did a very poor job. I told her specifically that i had been growing out my brows for 3 months, that i wanted to keep them thick and just for her to shape them. I mentioned this twice because i know certain brow experts have a tendency to over-tweeze. I used to have my eyebrows threaded for $5 a few streets away from my house for about 5 years. One day the very nice lady completely (mistakenly) threaded almost half my eyebrow off. I freaked out and never went back. My sister recommended Anastasia, so I waited about 6 months for my brow to somewhat grow back and I went to see Hasije. She worked miracles and I have NEVER done my eyebrows elsewhere. I know $32 must seem like a lot just for your eyebrows, but trust me...it's completely worth it. They meticulously work for about 15-20 minutes on your eyebrows to make sure they properly shape them and take out every last piece of unwanted hair. Best part is I don't have to go every 2 weeks to get them done because they grow back so much better now. I usually go every 2 months (believe me or not). Side note: If Hasije isn't there or on vacation, I recommend Emma. She's fantastic too! read more

She was really informative in telling me where I overplucked and where the brow arches will be. Yes, she did use the standard Anastasia stencils. And yes, she helped me take a picture of the outline she drew. The last time I got my brows waxed, I got a nasty allergic reaction, so I asked Hasije to tweeze at first. She suggested I tried the wax since it was super gentle. Sure enough, I barely had any redness after the wax (and it was pretty painless). She also filled in my brows. The price may prevent people from the brow services but it's totally worth the shaping and just basic knowledge. I'm a big fan! My eyebrows are usually thin because I don't really have a natural arch, so I feel like if they were thick, they'd just look like fat logs above my eyes. I've always had them waxed at cheap nail salons, and I'm horrible at at-home upkeep. A few months ago, they got waxed waaaay too thin. I've been trying to grow them thicker ever since the bad wax job, but now I sorta just don't know what to do with them. I called yesterday (they actually picked up the phone!) and was able to make an appointment for 45 minutes later. Richie did my brows. I told her I wanted them thicker and more of an arch. She was very gentle and took her time. She filled them in very naturally too. My eyebrows have never looked better! It was $32, which didn't thrill me, but I think it was worth it. You have to tip in cash, but I only had two bucks in cash, so that was all I could give her. I told her I would go find an ATM, but she said no, next time! And there will be a next time. I am extremely picky when it comes to my eyebrows. When I was younger, I went a little tweezer happy and followed the trend of the thin eyebrows. For years I have been trying to grow them out, and Richie at Anastasia's does the best job in helping me do so. While she doesn't push me to buy products, she recommended an eyebrow serum that has worked wonders. I don't get my brows done very often because Richie does such a great job thy I don't need to. But when I do, I always leave her feeling prettier because my brows always look amazing. Richie takes into consideration everything - my hair, skin, and what I want from my eyebrows - and makes them perfect. I used to only thread because I have sensitive skin, but the wax they use at Anastasia's is wonderful and never bothers me. I highly recommend Richie at Anastasia's! read more

There needs to be a complete overhaul here. They've gone from 10-stars to 2 in the past several years. There's no standard anymore, and it seems like inconsistent training is provided to the brow techs. There's no quality control on their work. On my last visit, the tech didn't even use the Anastasia brow stencils to shape my brows. I felt like I was in a dirty chair at the back of a neighborhood nail salon. When the brow studio was open at the Times Square location, it was ran flawlessly and could've commanded a $50 flat fee as opposed to their $32. I have been suffering from 2 different shaped eyebrows ever since I tried tweezing my eyebrows myself when I was 13. I thought there was no hope for me and just settled with regular touch up threadings but not too often because since I already have thin eyebrows I didn't want to OD it and have it look like I just have a think line over my eyes. And for some reason I didn't like the idea of hot wax on my face so I never tried waxing before but my friend who swears by this place urged me to go so I nervously went for it. Then I noticed that my eyes kind of popped out and I had that "surprised" look on my face I was like uhmm are you sure they look ok? She told me that I had naturally puffy eyes (ILL) and that my eyebrow shape before made my eyes look even more droopy so now of course my eyes look opened and less puffy. She's right because when my friends saw me there were like omg wow yes your eyes do look more open and looks soo much better! I went around the holidays, to my usual person, Alla. Granted I did not have an appointment but the receptionist, Giselle, suggested to sit and wait if her customer doesn't arrive, then she might take me. I waited for 40 minutes. After 40 mins, Alla, saw me and didn't greet me, she had her arms up in the air, saying "I don't have time." So rude and she made me feel uncomfortable. I don't know if it was the stress of the holidays, but there is no reason for that kind of behavior. She could have said that without getting so bent out of shape.
