I sell art, and one of my pieces was advertised as already framed in a two-inch-wide black lacquered frame, but it had scratches and wasn't suitable for my sale. To meet my customer's request to keep the same size and uphold my own standards, I decided to have it reframed. After calling several framers who didn't have the exact size, I finally found Charles' Custom Picture Framing. Charles, the owner, assured me over the phone that he had a two-inch shiny black lacquered frame and could customize it for my piece. When I went to pick it up, the frame looked smaller than two inches, so I asked him to measure it. It turned out to be only 1¾ inches wide, not the two inches I paid for. When I brought this up, he insisted I had seen it beforehand and offered no empathy or solution. I was charged $382 for a two-inch frame, which is a lot of money for a frame that didn't even include glass or plexiglass, and received something smaller than promised. Because of this, I may lose my sale. This experience felt dishonest, unprofessional, and disappointing. I would not recommend Charles' Custom Picture Framing to anyone.
