Last night my husband and I decided to try anchor out because it's only 10 minutes from our place. We were seated promptly, but that was the extent of our positive experience. We ordered some coke, and 2 apps. The apps came out in a decent time and were ok, I ordered a mudslide (very watery), and we ordered our food after the drink was brought to us. I ordered a sandwich, my husband ordered some wings, and I had asked for sweet potato fries and Mac. After 40 minutes we had seen 2 tables that arrived after us get their orders and finish up, asking for to go boxes, and our food still hadn't come out. Our server came to our table for the initial greet, to drop those off, drop the apps and drink off, and then nothing. No word on kitchen running slow or behind, nothing. We were polite and quiet, and decided it was time to just go. When we asked our server for our food in to-go boxes, it seemed he sprang to life, "Oh of course" and our food came out right then. He brought us the food and boxes and finally took the appetizer plates that were sitting on the other side of the table. I can't remember his name but he was a thin individual, pony tail, bracelets, rings, and a necklace I think. His shirt said "Got Wings?" The entire night he barely made any eye contact, facing his body away from us while talking, and barely checked on us. Not a good experience at all. The food was OK. read more

Me and my girlfriend enjoy coming here and it is definitely because of the food! I especially enjoy the cauliflower wing bites and their sandwiches are amazing, in terms of the atmosphere they have great sports bar vibes and outdoor seating! This was the perfect place to go with group after Tournament at Lake Point Sports Facility in Emerson, Ga. We had ten and wanted TVs to watch Hawks play Philly. I went to Anchor Bar with my best friend, his wife and son. Our service was top notch from start to finish. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server, Regan, greeted us in a timely manner. She was upbeat and friendly and very engaging. We ordered quite a bit of food and two of the orders were rather specific. A lot of opportunities for error but she handled it like a pro! Our food came out in a timely manner. Everything was hot and delicious. Regan kept up with our drink refills. A young lady who was the manager checked on us as well who was very friendly as well. Good service, but 3 of our 4 meals were served cold. It's like the 3 meals sat out on a counter under an AC vent for 10 minutes while the chicken parm was being cooked because it came out hot. The other 3 meals were supposed to have fries and weren't brought out. Figured those would come out hot and fresh, but they were lukewarm and not fresh. We happened upon this place for dinner, and we were so impressed! All of the staff was very friendly, and Kayla gave us great service! She checked on us throughout our meal, as well as one of the managers. The beer was cold, and the wings were delicious (not those over fried wings you get at other bars). The service is also very attentive although there weren't many people there when we dined. The food? It's really the only thing you need to do well and it was an epic fail. The cooks I assume are inexperienced as they can't execute the menu. With the exception of the fried pickles appetizer which was good, everything else was way off. From way over cooked burgers to roast beef sandwiches that were so over salted, they were inedible. My roast beef sandwich came in a combo with 5 wings and for the cost, there was sadly very little beef inside the bun. The wings? You will have tasted as good if not better on numerous other occasions. Average at best. There is no way that this is what the original family from Buffalo served up there. read more

I'm a huge wing lover and found the Anchor Bar at the suggestion of my daughter. The wings with dry rub were perfect. I got habanero ranch and buffalo ranch and they were the perfect combination of crispy on the outside and tender chicken on the inside. Meaty, too. Really good wings. My husband and i have been here a few times, this is one of my favorite restaurants. We moved recently from California, looking for places for date night and to go with friends. Trivia night is my favorite night! The drinks are great, the chicken wings are great!(the Parmesan garlic & chipotle are my favorite!), the chips and queso are really good too. The service is decent. The two best waitresses are Bethany and Alyssa! The bartender Jack is great too! I love the atmosphere here. Honestly its just one of my favorites and definitely feel like people should try it. I have ordered takeout about 4 times and each time they screw up my order. The food is good, but the takeout service is questionable. The last time, they had no pen for me to sign the receipt. The hostess was telling me to use a pencil??? Also the hostess seats not familiar with certain menu items when I placed the order. read more

The other wing places around (that I happen to like) aren't even worth mentioning - this place blows them out of the water. The food was fantastic, and the service was as good. We had 2 managers stop by to check in, and our server Blake was attentive and super knowledgeable, but not the least bit intrusive at all. We tried Anchor bar for he first time yesterday. We were seated right away and our waitress was right there to take our drink order. When she returned, she took our food order. They weren't very busy but for some reason about 30 minutes had passed and still no food. Our waitress and Devon, the manager were very apologetic and our food came shortly after. Devon offered to reduce our check or give us a gift card but we were in no hurry and said that wasn't necessary. Our food came and we thoroughly enjoyed it. My only complaint was that the Roast Beef on Weck was rather small considering the price but it was delicious. Devon ended up giving us a discount on our check and a gift card. Great customer service goes a long way so we will definitely make Anchor Bar one of our regular restaurants. I'm looking forward to our next visit already. read more

I have been to the original Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York. So I was greatly disappointed when ordering Hot Wings and found they used Texas Pete for the sauce. I can get the same thing at Publix a whole lot cheaper. Staff was nice. But I won't be back. read more

I'm a Western NY kid (Rochester), in the South. Not sure why this place opening didn't hit my radar, but it didn't. Imagine how happy I was to see it. I wasn't sure what to expect. Would the vibe translate? Would the food be good? I have to say - thumbs up. A few observations - It's big and clean. Nice sports bar. Many here won't really know and care about the anchor bar story, or that these wings are so much better than everywhere else in ATL, but overall, they did a really nice job on this place. - The service is super. Nice, with a smile. Servers seem to know their stuff. And really, what' important is - how hot is mild/medium/hot. That will make or break your experience and they did a good job. - The food was good. The wings were true to form. Really about 95% the same of what I get at home - and that's saying something as that would make them far superior to any other wings in the area. That's important. We tried a bunch - Buffalo shrimp was really good. Queso was nice - they dust the chips and fries with some steak seasoning or something like that - strangely addictive. Beef on Weck was a really good attempt. Wings were big, meaty, and the sauce was right. They had other good things as well - salmon was good, burger was great. OK - one thing I would fix? Can you put the regular Genessee or Genny Light on the menu? The cream ale is not the choice to make :) But if that's the only thing....you are killing it! Overall, for the 10% of us who are craving home, this place will fit the bill - I felt I was sitting in a Rochester sports bar. For the 90% looking for a nice experience all around - great sports bar with nice food and service, you will be very happy. read more

I order probably once a week from here and my only complaint is no matter what I put it notes I never get my side sauce. I called this last time and she added it so that was great.
