Slowest service I have ever experienced. The original Anchor Bar owners would be ashamed that they are represented in this way. As a Buffalo native, spend your money elsewhere. Wings were dry and flavorless. Fries were dry and old. Beef on Weck was... edible. Their own interpretation of the original. It felt as if we were bothering the staff just by being there. Server head headphones on the entire time, never checked in. Honestly really disappointed. Can't imagine coming back on game day just due to overall service and lack of speed on a day that had maybe 10 tables total. read more

Definitely a tasty spot right in Kennesaw, GA. This restaurant is an off-shoot of the Anchor Bar in Buffalo. In fact they have a ton of Buffalo Bills memorabilia in the restaurant. When I parked and ventured in, I stood at hostess stand for about 5 minutes. A server eventually walked by and I assumed she was coming back - or going to get a hostess. She did not. Lol. I had to poke my head into what I assume is the kitchen to get help. No apology at all for the wait. I asked for a menu and once she gave it to me, she told me she'd give me some time to look it over. At this point, I noticed the bar in the back. My server went to join her fellow servers at the bar and never came back to take my order, so I left without placing an order. I really wanted to try the potato wedges (saw a photo online and the looked delicious) so I ventured back in a few months later. Once again, no one at the hostess stand, so this time I didn't bother waiting, I just walked over to the bar and asked one of the THREE SERVERS standing at the bar for assistance. I opted to sit up front near the windows. Food The potato wedges aren't on the new menu (the server and I both looked) but the server assured me that they were still available. I asked for a cheeseburger, cheddar cheese, cooked medium - with lettuce and extra tomato. Asked for a side of mayo. My server didn't write anything down. Shortly after taking my order she came back and asked me to remind her how I wanted the burger cooked. When the order came out, I told her that it looked like American cheese and asked her if she was sure it was cheddar. She said that's what she told the cook. THEN, she asks me if I want her to go check. Um ... yes... I also had to remind her about the mayo. She takes my plate and goes back to the kitchen looking supremely annoyed that I won't just eat the cheese. She comes back insanely fast - says that was someone else's food and hands me a plate with what now looks like cheddar cheese on top of a slice of American cheese. My gut / stomach confirmed this a few hours later. My burger was good - very juicy - but the potato wedges were overcooked. Price / Value It's been a minute, but I feel like the prices were reasonable. Overall Overall, I wouldn't come back. I didn't feel welcome. On both occasions, I stopped in between 3 and 4pm. The place was NOT crowded on either visit. Literally 2 guys at a table and 1 guy at the bar on first visit. Second visit, 3 guys at a table and no customers at the bar. Yet, my server seemed like I was inconveniencing her by tearing her away from socializing with her fellow coworkers. She never once came back to check on me and since I didn't eat my potato wedges, I was done fairly quickly. I had to wait nearly 10 minutes after finishing, for her to come back with the check. And she saw my nearly full plate of wedges and did not ask me if there was a problem with them. Lol. The owner and manager have fragile egos and would rather ban customers than address issues. They dismiss negative reviews as lies and kill the messenger rather than fix the issues. The food was never great and not at all a draw, but trivia kept us returning. They chose to lose our team of regulars because one of us posted a truthful negative review. They accused her of lying but would not say what parts were lies. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant. As a restaurant, they fail in the basics of having silverware regularly and condiments like ketchup. It was always fun to see if tonight we got knives in our silverware packets. They fail at the basics and you'll definitely taste it in the bland, forgettable food. The wings will not leave you craving more and the pizza will make you wonder what is in the sauce that makes it taste so bad. read more

Good experience all around! We stumbled upon this place after searching on Yelp. Great atmosphere and everyone that worked there was polite and spoke to us. Server was great. Great presentation of food. Looked great and tasted good. My husband said the wings were the best he's had. They had a lot of meat on them. He also had a Cobb salad which was huge. My wrap could've had more meat, but it was tasty. Sweet potato fries were a surprise-had cinnamon sugar on them. Cooked perfectly and were amazing! If we'd been in town longer, we would've gone back. This is hands down my new favorite place, and if you are gluten-free...get in the car now. In addition to a dedicated fryer, the gluten free bun is not only available for $1, it is hands down the best GF bun I have ever had. It's a super soft, which is unlike the norm, and passed the test of my leftovers being eaten by my friend who didn't even notice the bun was anything but normal. The wings are crispy and flavorful, and all sauces are gluten free. Pick a philly or chicken cheesesteak, any burger, or my fave the buffalo chicken sandwich with bleu cheese. The only not amazing is the fries as they are bland and boring...HOWEVER, the tater tots are perfection and the sweet potato fries are solid. When Anchor Bar first opened in this location (that replaced our beloved Fuddruckers) a few years ago, it was pretty good. At some point in time last year, we were in the area and decided to stop by and it was awful (a man was brought a Cobb salad that was just salad mix and when he asked the server about it, she simply replied that they were out of all of the toppings...which was our cue to hightail it out of the place before ordering any food. Apathetic service is such a red flag. Okay...so, now, my BF had won a gift certificate from this place so we figured, why not? We gave it another chance, and it did a complete 180 from our last (aborted) visit. The server (who was also the assistant manager and the complete opposite of apathetic) was very friendly and provided wonderful customer service. She was attentive and made sure we had everything we ordered. The food was also great. I asked for crispy wings and they were just that. They were out of their hottest sauce, but the server assured me I would enjoy the next heat level down and she was correct. My BF's chicken sandwich was also good and his tots were off the chain (my fries weren't as good, but adding the habanero ranch dry rub made them tastier.) We had vowed to spend our entire gift certificate on this visit, but didn't, which is fine because we plan to be back, but maybe not on Sundays during football season because I am a diehard Miami Dolphins fan and I hate seeing grown Bills fans cry while I'm trying to eat! :) read more

Had a great visit to the Anchor Bar this weekend for a Buffalo Bills game. I found out from friends that Anchor is "the" place for Bills fans to gather to watch the games. I've never been a huge NFL fan, but I had an amazing time! We arrived early & commenced with beer and appetizers. We had the pizza logs, Anchor bar dip, and mozzarella sticks, along with Buffalo- brewed Labatt beer. I especially loved the pizza logs. Shortly before game time, we ordered our entrees. Two of us had the avocado burger, one had chicken tenders, and another had the wings. Everything was excellent! Service was exceptional. The place was packed and crazy once the game started, but our server was on top of everything we needed. I can't wait to come again for the next Bills game! I've eaten here la few different through out the years. I used to order a lot of door dash from here until I finally went in person. The first two visits were great and I told everyone about how good their wings were but it seems they're going down . The drinks at least the last time I went weren't good, I went mine back , the other two in my party just chugged theirs. The wings still decent but not as good as they once were. The servers are always great though, great customer service. This is a pub style monster booth restaurant with bar seating and I'm pretty sure pool tables. This establishment has gone downhill significantly over the past few months (written June 2025). To be fair, the food was (mostly) good - the wings (10 medium) were great as always, with mains of Buffalo Chicken Wrap w/ fries and Beef on Weck w/ fries were good enough (though the Beef was not warm), and the fries had little flavor until salt was applied. My first Sweetwater 420 tasted like it was the first pour of the day - stale. My next one tasted better & I wondered when the last time the lines had been cleaned out. This place used to a great place to hang out on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to eat great food, drink cold beer, and watch some sports. The external appearance of the establishment is of one that hasn't been kept up & looks like it is about to shutdown. All of the TVs behind the bar had blue-tinted screens like they were missing the green signal. Other TVs in the dining room and facing the bar were okay. There were no managers onsite, and apparently they are the only people with the ability to change TV channels, so we (and other patrons) were unable to watch the Atlanta Braves game Sunday afternoon. Surely, management is trying to torpedo the place if they can't be bothered to put local sports teams on the TVs, and do not support the staff required to run a food service establishment. Even one of the regulars(?) was helping bus tables - that is absolutely absurd. We chose Anchor Bar because I wanted good wings and to watch some sportsball, so we were not in a rush. The service from Molly was really good - checking on us & other patrons frequently, apologizing for the slow service. There were only 2 people in the front of house taking care of the entire restaurant/bar. The 2 people worked really hard to take care of the customers, and we all waited patiently for our service and food. I'm not sure how well staffed the kitchen was, but judging from the time it took orders to come out, I wouldn't be surprised if there was one hard worker back there doing the best they could because they cared about their food service for customers. I will not go back to this restaurant until reviews here indicate a turnaround and a change in management to an entity that prides itself on treating employees and customers right, with great food and atmosphere. read more

I have been going to this location on a regular basis since they opened and am usually very pleased with the qualify of the food and the service. Unfortunately this has all changed drastically. Several management changes, quality of food has been downgraded, and service is horrible to say the least. On my latest visit, the food was served cold, there were no napkins or coasters at the bar and the bar itself was dirty even though there were only two other customers in that area. Additionally, the bartender on duty was not at all attentive, spending all of her time on her personal computer to the point of being rude. I am very disappointed since this was one of my very favorite places to enjoy a cold beer and a good meal. Needless to say, you have lost a loyal customer as I will not be going back. read more

I was watching a show on tv that chronicled the "invention" of the Buffalo Wing. Surprise surprise when I looked at the website and realized that there is an Anchor Bar in Kennesaw. The menu detailed several preparations of chicken- boneless, strips, traditional, vegetarian, etc. the chicken along with some burgers and pizza choice as well. Got their at 11:30 they opened at 11:00 and the door was locked. Had to call to get them to open the door. The menu prices are sky high for what you're getting. I have been here 3 times and honestly the service has been worse each time. You have 1 server serving the poker players and a few tables, and maybe 2 other servers for the other tables. So the ones who are lucky enough to the the poker player server, you hardly see the server and no one else takes up the slack. So my table sits here and doesn't get served or correctly waited on. Today I lost faith in my favorite "hometown" place. I , and my friends are from Rochester, NY, and have been turning people on to Anchor Bar for years. My friend and 93 year old mother have been coming all the way from Newnan to have lunch with us . Today we waited 1 hr and 20 minutes for food, much to the apologies from the inept server. When we finally got it, everything was actually cold ( not an exaggeration). We asked a few times for a manager. We finally got one when we were leaving . And much to our surprise, she had been on the other side of the dining room having fun with the bar patrons. Completely oblivious of the the fact that the dining room was tanking . At least they have poker patrons to cater to. What happens when Bills Season starts ?? You guys will get 1 more shot from me, and I would welcome an answer . Mixed review. I'm originally from Buffalo area and were in Atlanta for a Bills Monday night game so we found the Anchor Bar and were excited to go. Well we were disappointed. Great being with other Mafia fans was the only highlight. Beef on Weck and wings were far from what you get in Buffalo. Roll was not a kummelweck roll, no salt no caraway, not a kaiser roll. Beef was cold as well as au jus. The wing themselves were pitiful, small and not very meaty; sauce was good but not quite right. Under staffed, the poor gal behind the bar worked her butt off non stop, felt bad for her. Management needs to do better getting the help and MOST DEFINITELY IMPROVING THE FOOD, not a representation of what Buffalo is famous for. Since journeying to Buffalo, NY and eating at the original Anchor Bar (they invented buffalo wings in 1964 in case you didn't know) doesn't seem very likely anytime soon, visiting their location in Kennesaw sounded like a pretty close substitute. I had no idea there was even an Anchor Bar in Georgia, thanks Google Maps! I split a single (10 pieces, $12.99) between mild and lemon pepper. There were close to 20 flavor options! We asked for extra crispy. My wings were on the smaller size, had cooled down, and were somewhat dried inside. I guess extra crispy is not the way to go. But the mild and lemon pepper flavors were good. Looking at the website recently, it appears the single has gone up to $13.99 which seems kind of pricey. Oddly enough, Anchor Bar told us they had run out of carrots which was mind-boggling, considering they're a wings establishment. At least there was celery and to be fair, the menu only mentions serving wings with celery. Since sides have to be purchased separately, I ordered some mac and cheese ($3.99), and it was delicious, a thick white cheese sauce with some garlic notes mixed with rotini. There's a patio which was a nice option during these uncertain times. Because there was no TV, cars zipping by served as the background music. It was pretty mellow outside since most customers wanted to be in the AC, I'm sure. Our server was Eddie, and he was excellent. Very friendly, helpful, attentive, gave solid recommendations. 1st time. Not too crowded at 6pm on a Friday. Friday evening they have poker & either live music or a magician (that's odd but fun). The service was swift & friendly. Soda was EXCELLENT! Ordered a Buffalo Chicken Salad $13.99. It was a spring mix lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, croutons (they forgot to add them), Bleu cheese crumbles, and med Buffalo boneless wing nuggets. The chicken was perfectly spiced & very tender. I wish they had chosen a sturdier lettuce like Romane because the lightly tossed spring mix wilts down when you put dressing on it. This causes all the toppings to fall to the bottom & the ratio of lettuce to toppings is off. Otherwise it was a pretty good salad. Due to the lettuce wilting up under the ranch, I would say $9.99 would be a more accurate price, or just used more lettuce to beef up this dinner Salad. read more

I'd seen this place in an article or two for having really good wings ... So of course we tried some wings. They were good, but kinda smaller than I expected being over $1/each. We got extreme heat and spicy garlic. The flavor was good, sweet/savory mix but not that hot. I'd say around the habanero at the wing cafe in Marietta. Our normal spot is clays sports cafe in sandy springs or the wing... So hard not to compare to those places. Service was fine when we went. Not too crowded. Late lunch hour. My mom ordered the wedge salad with salmon and the wedge was a normal size lettuce head but the salmon looked pretty small beside it. I'd say maybe ~5oz of salmon? The fries were awesome. $4 enough to share between 2 people and they were seasoned with some kind of house blend, maybe a cajun blend but we loved them. PS: the draft menu was kinda sticky so not sure how often it's wiped down. Overall, glad we tried this place but probably won't replace our current wing spots.
