Hotel has a virtual check in that includes an additional $100 fee added when you check in for incidentals. Which is strange as they have no restaurant nor snack shop. Note the ocean view is technically correct but probably not what you are expecting. Hotel is pet friendly but the pet fee is not mentioned when booking the hotel directly as you need to search to find it in the website. I suggest booking thru a third party app instead directly with hotel. Gas station further to the south of town on the Reservation has much lower gas prices. read more

The 3 bed option was the reasoning for choosing this inn. We had 3 generations traveling and it worked out great. The room was clean, I like the no carpet in the room. We travel with slippers so it was fine. The check in with a kiosk was different, simple and I wouldn't be surprised if we see more hotels using this method soon. The lady that checked me in was sweet and in great spirits for it being past midnight. Two small improvements would be appreciated. One, the toilet was super loose. It was rattling and moving every which way. Secondly, a couple more towels and washcloths would be nice. There is a RV park right next door, only 3 RV's were there. Technically, one and some 5th wheels. If you are looking for a Sandals type of resort style stay, this is not it. It's clean, close to the water and doesn't give trafficking vibes. read more

Beds were horrible. I had to flip the mattress as the head area was sunken down and lumpy. When I returned from the beach my key was disabled 20 minutes before checkout so had to get another one. Then I wanted to shower before leaving and there was no running hot water. They told me it would be fixed in 5 minutes but after waiting 30 I finally had to leave sweaty and sandy. I asked for a refund and computer lady (very hard to understand accent over virtual screen) said she'd look into it. Oh, and the room telephone didn't work so i had to use my cellphone to call the front desk (they never answered after 5 tries). read more

Close to the beach and many restaurants, this place got the job done. The virtual agent that checks you in is different, but worked okay. The room was comfortable but it had an unpleasant smell and we found a cockroach in our room, as well as one in the parking lot. The free breakfast is just coffee, fruit, granola bars, and muffins. We stayed 2 nights with 4 of us. The 3 queen beds for the win! So spacious. Hard to find this arrangement so I would give them a 5/5 for that as an option. The bathroom needs some help. Drain didn't work fully and there was mold in the bathroom. Maybe needs some fresh caulk around toilet etc., and a good cleaning of the drain. Would give them a 3/5 for the bathroom. This place is pretty bad. It's not clean in here at all. we have a 3 bed room and all of the beds are dirty. the cover blanket/comforter had blood stains, cigarette burns and hairs on them. We went to the front and the lady kindly gave us new ones to replace the ones we had but the entire bed is gross. the bottom of the normal sheets are dirty, like someone had dirty feet and they didn't clean the sheets afterwards. Along with that, the pillow cases and the sheets were dusty, had hairs (some long, some short, ew.), and multiple stains of random kinds. The floors are not swept or mopped and the countertops don't look like they've been wiped down in quite some time. At the front desk, it is a kiosk that you have to check in through. In my opinion that is very unusual but we think it may be due to safety, so we can understand. to talk to the person, you have to press a button and they'll come out and talk to you behind a wall of plexiglass. The employee was kind given that i was very upset when reporting the poor conditions of our room but still an unusual situation. in the end, if you don't HAVE to stay in crescent city, i wouldn't. There are towns over that are much safer that include the gorgeous views and better hotels. After driving around here at sun down, it definitely doesn't seem safe (people riding bikes with ski masks, much homeless individuals, and all businesses being closed prior to sundown). We stayed here in a pinch after driving all day, but i definitely would NOT recommend. read more

Woke to welts all over our body and pulled sheets back to find lots of bed bugs alive and crawling. Called front desk to report. They said management would contact me and I requested a full refund. Haven't heard from them all day. Also reported with state health authorities. We had to bag up all our stuff to safely return home tp start cleaning our stuff. My cousin has over 63 bites on her body and major reactions to them.we showed the hotl staff the bugs in person and took photo and videos. Not good at all. So frustrating. I booked my hotel stay through Expedia. Hotel was clean and nice. I got there around 930pm and when I was let into the lobby there was a woman on the screen and she made the check in process quick and easy. This was the fastest I had ever been checked into a hotel. Very friend and nice. read more

I would give this place zero starts if I could. I checked into my room at 6:10pm. At which point I went to eat and worked on my laptop before going to take a shower after driving for 13 hrs. What I found in the tub was absolutely disgusting. I immediately went to speak with the front desk (which is a kiosk and not a physical person) and was informed I could not move rooms or be refunded because it had been over an hour since check in. Why would I inspect the bathtub as soon as I walked in? The manager was completely unapologetic and gave zero craps about the state of my room. This place was an UTTER disaster. First of all, look at their own website, where they say "24 hour front desk". That's a lie. There are no humans anywhere. It took us 20 MINUTES to check in - why? There's a KIOSK rather than a person!!!! The audio didn't work on the kiosk. The woman couldn't speak English. The digital signature pad didn't work. The screen didn't work so you couldn't sign your name (we used an "X"). The name of the kiosk company is "Aavgo". Omg this was the single worst experience I have ever had and it is 100% because of the stupid kiosk and NOT a human. Perhaps the worst part of this entire nightmare is that you must optically scan in your government ID!!!! This is a totally unsecured network!!! Your own personal information is gone!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The after-hours check-in procedure is TOTALLY atrocious. It is a kiosk with a video connection to some lady who was probably in Malaysia. Her English was heavily-accented, the kiosk speakers were a joke, and the acoustics of the lobby was like a bus station, making her almost entirely incomprehensible. It took us 20 MINUTES of pointing to our ears and begging her to talk slowly and clearly. 20 freaking minutes!! This kiosk nonsense is a DISASTER! Stayed a couple nights to be close to Redwood National park. Basic hotel. Nothing fancy to see here. It was good for having a place to sleep and shower and that's about it. They charge you $20 a day if you wanna use EV chargers. So that sucked since that's why we choose to stay here in the first place. We declined and used super charger instead that's like 5 min away. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful four day vacation on the beach of beautiful Crescent City, California! We decided spur of the moment to surprise our daughter who was already camping nearby in the redwoods! We really enjoyed our accommodations and this motel provided excellent service and we were treated like family here! The price was very reasonable too! The accommodations are updated and comfortable and there were four restaurants on site too! We had an oceanfront view room which we really enjoyed and enjoyed the sounds of the ocean right from our room! At night we really enjoyed the fresh ocean air by keeping our window open. We had a great stay at Anchor Beach Inn. The staff is friendly and the room was clean. It's close to the beach and the area where the sea lions/seals bask in the sun. We slept with the windows open and we could hear the sea lions/seals barking all night. It wasn't loud enough to keep us up, just enough to remind us that we were on vacation. read more

I just called the hotel directly, because I attempted to make a reservation on Expedia, which would not allow me to add a pet. When I called the hotel, a woman quoted me their direct price, which was almost twice as much as Expedia. When I mentioned that, she said, "Well you just do that" and literally hung up on me. I immediately called back and got a man on the reservation line. This person told me I cannot put a complaint in to customer service because I don't have a confirmation number. He asked if I was price searching. I'm not sure when it became a crime to try to get a decent rate when you're staying in a hotel. No one should treat their customers this way and I would recommend no one stay at this place. read more

Once upon a time, this may have been a nice hotel- there were little hints of what may have been. Big rooms, good location, furniture that was probably nice in their beginning days. But now the rooms and furniture are dated and dirty, and there is unsafe electrical (loose plugs, dimming lights) as well as insufficient bedding. Check-in occurs via a kiosk, with a person located who knows where, communicating with you via a computer screen, but I instead waited for the one person who was working behind a big plexiglass window, as I felt uncomfortable sharing payment details with someone working remotely. However, other customers used the kiosk, meaning loud conversations were happening right next to me as I attempted to complete my transaction with a real human. Very strange experience. My room had an ocean view, but only because the RV park right behind the hotel is now abandoned. There are several other hotels right down the street, perhaps try them first. :) read more
