Mustafa Syrian Kitchen - The takeout

Granted, I am a vegetarian, so I have a different set of options available to me here. I will say it's good to have a diverse list of restaraunt when you are on Vashon Island looking for food so I am super glad this spot exists. However, the flavours lacked for me. It was underwhelming. It's a food truck so ambience is low-key and typically a takeout place. The staff is warm, welcoming, and attentive, ensuring that every guest feels cared for.

We arrived at the food truck around 12:30pm on a Saturday and had a ~10 minute wait to get our food. I got the Kebab meal, which included beef + lamb kebabs over a bed of basmati rice, hummus + pita bread, and a salad. The kebabs were delicious - had a good chew texture-wise and where very hearty and meaty in their taste, they are indeed very filling! The hummus had a subtler flavor in comparison to other hummuses that I've had, but this hummus gives a more homemade feeling to it - goes well with the pita bread and meats in this entrée. The salad was more of a standard tomato, lettuce, and cucumber salad - simple and refreshing to take a bite out of between eating the other options. Overall, spent about $14 - a pretty solid and filling meal given the price and quantity given, you'll definitely get filled up enjoying the homemade nature of the food here! I would recommend you give this cozy food truck a try when you visit Vashon! (4.5 stars!)

Impeckable Chicken - Sweet and Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich

Looking to switch up my lunch from the usual tacos or boring noodles I decided to give "impeckable"…read morea try as they have a food truck that visits regularly. I actually tried an initial visit and they were sold out of every sandwich save for one and decided to hold off. This only made my interest grow and wasn't disappointed on my follow up visit. I got the Crispy Chili chicken sandwich and boy was it good. First off it's one of the few places that pulls off how the picture looks; you know what I mean? When the picture hardly resembles the food. Not with Impeckable The portion and flavor hit, the crispy skin but not too crispy hit just right. Snag? The price. A sandwich which comes bundled with fries and a sauce of your choice will run you about $18, worth it maybe, but still pricey for what is a premium chicken sandwich. If you're a fan though, give them a try. I'll give them another go; a good chicken sandwich is tough to come by.

Wow, Impeckable chicken is absolutely incredible on all fronts. I've been here twice over the last…read morefew months and both times, I ate the best fried chicken sandwich of my life. The first time, I had the chili crisp one and the second time I had the "sweet & spicy". I found Impeckable on a random street in Bellevue one day while walking around and decided to try it. They were like 40 ft from where in the pre-COVID days there'd be 4 different bustling food trucks every day (near the barnes and noble parking lot... /cry). I miss those days - so many options, so vibrant and fun. But whatever, I saw this and was like YUS. They do a good job of posting where they'll be on their website, so if you're on the hunt for them... its at least easy. This place only does fried chicken sandwiches. They have like 6 fryers in the truck and fry your chicken fresh when you order it (maybe a par-fry and final fry situation -- dont know... but it doesnt matter). This makes the chicken PERFECTLY PIPING HOT when it comes out. It's fried literally perfectly - they have their ish dialed in. It's crispy. It's juicy. It's flavorful. Well seasoned. It's fast (like... 5 mins?). There's nothing to complain about -- literallyy. The chili crisp was super flavorful, pretty spicy and greasy, as expected... its like... fried chicken with extra oil on it, lol. But it was just so GOOD. The sweet and spicy, i thought, was more balanced and less messy - sweet, still a good amount of spiciness with a mango-habanero sauce. Both came with slaw on it to kind-of cool it down and add a little bright crisp. The fries on the side were solid, and they give you a dipping sauce to dip them in. Great! Overall 5/5 stars every single day. Consistency. Flavor. Perfection.

I love Fish And Chips…read more I've been lucky enough to be to the UK a couple of times and have Fish And Chips there several dozen times, as well as eating it all over the US and several other countries. I'm writing this all to tell you whether or not it's true. I definitely consider myself an expert and Fish And Chips. You will have to come here and see if you agree. This spot can throw down with the best of them, I said what I said The fish tasted delicious and fresh The beer batter is crunchy and flavorful with a good texture that allows for extra crunch I believe I could taste some finishing salt as well, although it may have been salt that rubbed off from the french fries The fish was fried perfectly as was the batter The housemaid tartar sauce was creamy, dilly and delicious. the house made cocktail sauce, and lime, cilantro sauce were amazing. Next time I come, I will definitely order the tartar sauce and the cocktail sauce and maybe even try a different one if they have more which they may I didn't ask. Sorry not sorry. The fries were crunchy and properly prepared A Large fresh lemon wedge was served with the fish, use it The shrimp are also perfectly battered and fried All of that was already 5/5 stars but for me honestly and surprisingly the fish taco might've been my favorite. It came with grilled fish on a warm flour tortilla with cabbage and pineapple salsa. There may have been a sauce on it too, but honestly, I ate it so fast I don't even know. I also ordered a raspberry lemonade, which is made from fresh lemon and fresh raspberries and quite tasty All in all, I have to say these guys definitely are using fresh delicious ingredients and delivering a quality superior product If you're looking for Fish And Chips, anywhere in the Puget Sound area, check their site as they are mobile business and are at different places every day, but it will be worth your drive regardless because it's delicious Also, have you tried the fish and you realize it's delicious come here and get my review a like or something... throw me a bone maybe buy me a taco I don't know ;-)

Of course I keep forgetting to take a picture of my coffee, but I'm gonna tell you all about it…read more This is the first (and only, so far) place I've gotten coffee on the island, but I can't bring myself to try anywhere else yet. They had a sign up the first day that advertised a rose honey latte special, and I love all of that, so I ordered it large and iced. It was amazing. I like my lattes with flavor, but I also want to be able to take the coffee and get a balance. If my coffee doesn't taste like coffee, it's too sweet. I could taste all the elements here and it's clear they use good, high-quality ingredients. They even topped it with rose petals! One day I strayed and ordered one of their specialty mochas, which I am generally hesitant to order because they're often way too sweet. I saw they use Holy Kakow syrup and know that's pretty good stuff. The mocha was really good, but also over $9 for a large before tip. That's my main complaint about this is that it's expensive. That being said, it's Vashon Island and most everything is super expensive. My large, iced latte is under $8 before tip and that feels more justifiable. This is overall a really cool place to check out with some cool history. The tea selection is absolutely amazing, though I'm too much of a coffee person to try it.

When you walk in, you're immediately hit with the smell of the roasted coffee beans, and you can see them roasting the beans from inside the shop. So cool! They have a wall of teas, a case of baked goods, and so much more that I probably even missed some things, like checking out the bookstore. I was feeling a bit worn from my travels so I decided on a Golden Mylk instead of opting for coffee. The Golden Mylk was a perfect blend of spices and creaminess. Very cozy, warm, and the perfect drink for a cloudy day. I also tried the Vashon Fog which was delicious. Not too sweet, and you could taste the tea over the milk, it didn't taste watered down. You have to check them out if you visit Vashon island!
