    Signature Latte Menu

I've enjoyed the coffee at their other location, but their limited seating and limited hours for coffee flights were always a bit off-putting. I love that this location has ample seating, and you can get a coffee flight anytime! I loved trying the Flight of the Month. Their vegetarian menu options seem a bit uninspired. We went with the Avocado Toast, which was pretty, but the watermelon radish diluted the flavor.

I had some time before catching my flight and found this little charming coffee shop! It's so cute inside and the matcha was insane! The sandwich was average but their matcha and iced latte was incredible! Also a very cute place to hang out or get some work down if your wfh!

Was looking forward to trying ancient grounds as the one in lakeview is a bit far from me. This new location is clean and was very empty. Great place to work if needed. The coffee however did not live up to my expectations. I've heard such good things about this place but perhaps this location is different. My iced vanilla latte was fine, but I wouldn't say it was extraordinary. A bit watered down and the flavoring overpowered the coffee taste. I don't think it was made poorly, just off proportionally.

    Cereal Coffee Flight

After seeing the Coffee Flight on Instagram, I knew this would be a great place to visit. We went on a Saturday morning and still found plenty of seating. The interior was stylish and comfortable, designed to be a space you could spend a long period of time in. We ordered the Cali Bagel which is cream cheese, egg, and avocado on everything bagel, the Avocado Toast, and of course, the Cereal Coffee Flight. The coffee was ready first, and included four mini cups. The flavors are Biscoff, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Honey Nut Cheerio, and Lucky Charms. However! Each cup tasted like the same base coffee with different cereal garnishes- fun visually, but not four distinct flavored drinks. However, the longer we sat there, the toppings seeped into the coffee and altered the taste some. Coming in at $17.75, it felt a bit pricey given how similar the cups tasted. However, the toppings were fun and you're definitely paying for the experience. Now onto an unexpected highlight of this visit- the food. We had actually planned to get breakfast elsewhere but when that fell through we decided to grab a bite here. I'm sure glad we did. The Cali Bagel was excellent- coming out warm and toasty, with the refreshing cream cheese and avocado to balance it out. It was also quite filling. My sister enjoyed the avocado toast as well.

I went specifically because I wanted to try something a little different, and the cereal coffee flight definitely did not disappoint.

Everything just blended so well together and the texture was perfect. Lot of cold pressed juice, cleanses, smoothie, oatmeal, and bowl options. I look forward to trying more!

One of the things I love about coming here is the customer service because it's really great, especially from one of the really nice girls who works in the mornings on weekdays (I need to get her name and edit this review because she's so nice) and their oatmeal bowls are some of the best I've had and I'm pretty picky about my oatmeal. Another positive is they can do a 100% nut free smoothie because they have separate blenders for people that can't have nuts and I think that's amazing. I've seen places that mix nut and nut free in the same blenders and that's so dangerous / frustrating. I'll definitely continue coming here

Originally on a mission for a smoothie, I was greeted by a friendly staff member and a much larger menu than expected. There is a slew of inventive food that all looked amazing, ranging from sandwiches to noodles and sushi. I opted for the Maca Picchu smoothie, a mini cranberry muffin, and an empanada. I was blown away by how flavorful everything was! The smoothie was creamy, lightly sweet, and very refreshing. The mini muffin tasted like a firmer version of edible cookie dough and was a perfect sweet treat. The empanada was not crunchy, but it was flavorful and the vegan cashew cream was incredibly smooth. I was really impressed not only by the taste of the food, but the texture and presentation as well. There is a level of detail and care that is apparent and really exceptional. Consider me a fan- I'm already looking forward to not only the next visit, but to bring more plant-based meals into my kitchen as well!

Sometimes when you're stoned you do the weirdest things and crave the weirdest stuff. I was scrolling on DoorDash for what felt like 67 years when I stumbled on Deep Purpl. Their menu literally screamed exactly what my munchies were demanding, so obviously I ordered everything. First up the Acai Bowl 20oz with banana, strawberry, kiwi, granola, organic honey, extra strawberries, and chia seeds. I am telling you this bowl changed me as a human. I had never had an Acai Bowl before and now I'm obsessed. Every fruit was fresher than fresh, the granola was a spiritual experience, and the balance of flavors was ridiculous. Then I got the PB Toast and I'm still asking myself why I hesitated to pay $6.99 for it. GAWD it was amazing. Crispy bread, peanut butter, banana, strawberries, blueberries, honey drizzle. The best $6.99 piece of toast I have ever had in my life. Because I clearly have no self-control I also grabbed the spinach and cheese empanada and malbec and beef empanada. No words. Everything was fantastic. Every single item was a joy to inhale and I will absolutely do it again. The DoorDash pick-up was super easy and the staff was incredibly friendly. The only minor gripe is they don't provide bags so I had to carry everything individually walking home, which was slightly annoying. But honestly the food, the vibes, and the experience? 10 out of 10. Will be back.

The first thing I noticed was how cute the space is. It has a cozy café vibe with plenty of seating, soft pillows, and even an overflow area in the back. The warm brown tones throughout the space make it feel inviting and comfortable, perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. I also have to give a big shoutout to the staff. Everyone was incredibly accommodating and very knowledgeable about the menu. It was my first time trying this style of food, but my sister (who was visiting from El Paso) was more familiar and helped guide us a bit. We ordered rice crêpe and shared an açaí bowl, and I was genuinely blown away by both. I got the tofu rice crêpe, which were perfectly seasoned, honestly one of the most delicious things I've had all month. I practically inhaled them. As for the açaí bowl, I had mine with strawberries and dragon fruit, and it felt like a full-on discovery. I couldn't believe something dairy-free could taste that good. It was refreshing, flavorful, and honestly a bit of a revelation, I can't wait to have another one. Overall, my first experience at Bru Chicago was excellent. I have no complaints. I'll definitely be back, recommending it to friends, and making it a go-to spot for lunch or getting work done. An easy 5 out of 5 stars.
