If there is one aspect about life that I understand most, it is excruciating physical pain. It…read morebegan as a toddler and never truly stopped. Sure, there were waves of peace. Typically, the peace would be interrupted by the car that struck the left side of my body and flipped me onto my neck. Or, the drunk driver that hit me head on. Maybe even the other three car wrecks I experienced. Not to mention two knee replacements. I've fallen from a second-floor building and tripped on my own feet too many times to count. When melanoma hit me in hair school... my 40-hour school week and 50-hour work week put me in a spin of daily episodes. But when you have learned to live with pain and watched your mother do the same, being alive and happy takes the edge away. Trust and belief that this would pass caused it to do so. Before any of these incidents fell onto my path... what some call auto-immune diseases tortured me on a day to day basis. Most of my body would feel as if knives were piercing my skin. The last 6 years have been free of this pain minus the times around my body experiencing trauma. I am happy to report that it is few and far between when an episode hits. Yesterday, was one of those days. My feet could barely touch the ground without a jerk reaction pulling my body off the breathing fire train I was strolling on. Now onto why I am sharing personal information I do not often toss around like salad... finding bodywork to zap stagnant fascia energy like a lightsaber has been the key for me since I was a little tater tot. For starters, if you too need a heavy release of fascia... Sarga will be your jam. It taps into the subtle body and asks the therapist to find listening ears/hands when healing the dormant energy. Today, I stepped off the massage table * for the first time in my adult life * completely worked out of every stabbing pain and screaming fire inside of my body. Thank you, Arielle. I still feel as if I am walking on water and flowing with the sea.

At my last appointment, Arielle suggested lymphatic work to help with a recently sprained ankle. It was an amazing experience! Within a day I started walking without a brace or ankle pain and the joint pain in my hands which I've had for about 5 years is completely gone! Thanks Arielle!

I originally gave this company four stars, but I had to go back and change my review based on my…read morelast two experiences. I am highly dissatisfied with the customer service and the overall process, including calling, confirming appointments, and the way charges are handled. The level of customer care is no longer what it used to be, and that is truly disappointing. At this point, I would rather take my business somewhere that values customers and provides quality service. I do not want to continue wasting my money on a company that no longer meets those standards.

A few days later I received an email with an appointment confirmation(for what I had requested, a 90 minute massage), for 9:00-10:30 am kn the date requested. I hit confirm to lock in the appointment. Today, the day of my birthday, I drive to the location and walk up to the receptionist to check in. I tell her that I have an appointment at 9:00, to which she reply's "no you don't". I show her the email I received with the appointment time, and the confirmation I received, and she said "well I'm sorry that you got a confirmation but you don't have an appointment". She was incredibly rude, and did not offer any options for making it right. I was a member at Elements for quite some time, and I have never been treated so rudely. I got up early, on my birthday; a day I had taken off work, and drove over 30 minutes to get to the Middletown location just to be turned away. I will not be spending my money here ever again. Their customer service was incredibly bad, and they need to fix the errors in their booking system. This was a really sucky way to start my birthday.

She was incredibly kind and helpful, especially knowing it was my first time. I was the only person at the spa so I didn't experience anything more than the sound of music and running water. I wasn't sure what to expect. Here's what I learned that may be helpful to you for the head spa experience: - The Thai bed offered the comfortable, wider bed. It was heated and I was covered with blankets. - You will wear a towel on your top. Straps would be in the way. Come wearing a tube top, something that can be pulled down, or slip off your bra. - If you don't have warm socks, they offer fuzzy socks. - Lockers are provided for security. The key is attached to a bracelet and you can slip it on your wrist. - A scalp analysis is completed before and after. - The treatment started with a massage and it continues on and off throughout. - The pressure isn't painful but it can be intense, including on your scalp. My arm muscles were very tight so I was mindful to breathe through the soreness. - The head massagers are amazing. I've already looked up where to buy my own! -Your hair will be washed multiple times. Aveda products are used. Overall, a wonderful experience. It is definitely a splurge for me; however, this will be a treatment I'll come back for to keep my scalp and hair healthier, plus have an opportunity to relax.

Wonderful experience with Mo! My lower back feels fossilized sometimes because it's soooo tight,…read morebut Mo was so thorough and put in a lot of work to help alleviate the pain and stiffness, which has plagued me for about 20 years. I am fit and I am a longtime yoga practitioner. I understand my role in managing these issues, but no amount of exercise can offset 8 hours sitting at a computer a day. A good massage is sometimes the only thing that can help when my body really starts locking up. Ive tried a number of massage therapists who are trained through westernized programs, and I even had a standing appointment with a wonderful reiki master who was a massage instructor for many years. Unfortunately, none of these therapists (who were legitimately excellent) were able to provide much relief for issues like persistent psoas tightness and snapping hip syndrome, etc. Mo is the first massage therapist who really made a difference in my pain and my low back and hip function, after just one session. I don't know if I truly do need deep tissue work or if it just *feels* as if I need deep tissue massage to me because of my usual experiences, but I always ask for deep work and rarely feel as though it's even close to being deep enough. A lot of massage therapists just don't seem to have more than textbook classroom-based understandings of the body, and they tend to try to use sessions to lecture me about the most basic things or assert their expertise, even while they're failing to recognize where my muscles are tight and how to actually address the tightness. That's why I decided to try an eastern-based practitioner this time. This was a fairly vigorous and intense session and I got the exact pressure I wanted/needed, without having to even say anything. It felt as though I finally got some release along my spine. She also did exceptional work on my shoulders and mid-back as well and gave a brief scalp massage. It made my whole week! Lalai is my new standing massage therapy provider and I highly recommend them, and Mo :)
