Ordered pickup. It was right at 5p. No customers, walked up to take out window, two employees just stood and looked at me. I gave them my name, no response. Rude! Got in my car, pizza was barely warm, very little sauce, cheese or toppings and it tasted strange. I wasn't about to eat it after my first couple of bites. Complained, exactly as I did here. Their response was....Sorry, we missed the mark this time and that you're disappointed. blah, blah, blah, Thanks for the feedback! No free pizza, or coupon for future use, nothing. It's been a while since I've been to an ampersand, but I found a reason to come back. It's across from the movie theater. You can't blame &pizza for inflation, but it was a lot more than I remember it being, and the options for toppings and drinks a little weak. They're also trying to get you to leave a tip for ordering takeout on an app, which seems to undermine the whole fast casual model to me. What was notable about this experience is that I went ahead and tried the new brand vegan cheese they offer, as well as the pea protein based fake meat, and withheld some of my usual selections such that I got a completely vegan pizza. I have to say it was more convincing than most, like I'd have to actually stop and think that it wasn't the usual pizza, as someone who's had many dairy-based &pizzas. They also appear to have kept their practice for separate pizza slicers based on dietary needs; I was a bit miffed they didn't use the vegetarian one until I realized maybe they have a separate vegan one. read more

I am so frustrated. The pizza we ordered was EXTREMELY spicy. My daughter started to cry when she ate it. We called to inquire and were forced to speak to an ai who could not help. The AI told us to fill out a questionnaire. When I went to fill out the questionnaire the site said "Sorry, there are no available questionnaires at this time.". I'm shocked to see some of the negative reviews for this location. I flew in from LA to visit family during their crazy DC winter storm. We decided to get pizza and saw there was an &pizza location close by. The place was clean but empty due to the weather. The bathrooms were clean as well. The employees were awesome! Ty and Shane helped us out and were quick and friendly. Ty was patient and explained a lot of the new pizzas to us. She was very personable. My wife and I I ate here after a movie and wasn't disappointed. While the initial stars seemed low we decided to try it anyway. We had the vegan hot chicken pizza and the vegan garlic knots. The crust was super good, great flavor, and amazing toppings. Filled us really well. The only suggestion is they could have cleaned the lobby but it was close to close when we came in. Let's start by they're practice of CHEATING the customer with little to no topings. Because i frequent this place often i know what i been getting. This time they refused togive me what I'd been getting. When asked why i was given this from behind the counter (refer to the picture) by an employee that refused to tell me his name saying "You dont have to know my name" (seen in the picture). I went to this &pizza location today, I honestly didn't even know it existed. My only complaint is that they only had one person working in the front so it made my order take longer since she was taking care of my two pizzas and anyone else if they walked in to pick up their online order. The pizza and garlic knots were delicious and ordering take out was super easy - this location even had a pick-up window, which made going to get the pizza super easy! Some staff are very friendly, but some staff are very rude. I love the location and the pizza but last time ordered pizza and knoughty knot. They gave me my dessert without chocolate drizzle. When I asked the staff that to add chocolate, she said that they didn't have very rudely. I asked her to refund me because I didn't want it since it was missing the main ingredients. I'm giving this review in hopes management will make some improvements, because we love the location and price. The pizza is also really good when they get our order right. We have ordered four times and three of them our order has been messed up. Visit #1 We were given someone else's order completely and their system of contacting them is horrible. No restaurant should be too busy to answer the phone. I don't want to text with a robot! It took over 30 minutes just to let them know our order was messed up and for them to start remaking it. Visit #2 Actually was fine because we happened to just stop by and order. Staff was really nice and friendly. Did note with the 3 employees I saw someone could answer phone if it rang. Visit #3 Store out of bacon, but website doesn't say its unavailable. Thought I was going crazy because I knew the pizza I liked had bacon. I asked them and was told all stores out for days. Put it on your website menu that you are out of bacon. Visit #4 Ordered Hot knots and there was absolutely no jalapeños or bacon on any of them so I basically just received garlic knots. Didn't want to go through the difficulty of trying to text them to let them know. I don't know maybe they were out of bacon and jalapeños this time. read more

We really like the pizza here, but on our visit today the music was so loud, the person behind the counter couldn't hear what I wanted on my pizza. So loud, my wife went and stood outside while I waited for my pizza to cook. our request is to please keep the music to being a background music, and not blasting so loud that I had to scream my order at the employee behind the counter. This is the worst run pizza place and they definitely didn't understand the assignment. Pizza ordered at 6:30, received notification it was ready at 6:44, and arrived to pick it up at 6:50. I rang the bell at the pickup window and waited 15 min and no one acknowledged. Went inside and stood at the pick up area for 10 min and none of the 5 employees acknowledged me or the 8 other customers. Asked for help and the lady rolled her eyes and said they were busy. Waited 10 more min and finally got the manager. She just told me they were really busy. I told her my pizza has been ready and waiting in the food warmer for 45min and none of the 5 employees could spare 30 sec to hand it to me. I get my stale pizza at 7:30 and they gave me the wrong f'n pizza. This pizza place is attached to my apt building and I'll never buy there again. read more
