Sadly, the selection was pretty picked over. So I went to look at New Balance, a brand I consider tried and true. A really knowledgeable salesman explained the features and benefits of four different levels of shoes. I didn't buy by price, I bought on benefit and am really happy with my selection. It's so comfortable and supportive. The salesman measured my feet and - whoops - I've been buying too small shoes for a while. Now with a comfortable expansive toe box, good arch support and a heel construction that feels wrapped around the back of my foot I am seriously happy and walking on. Thanks for the help, Stan's. Something professional yet comfortable. And flat, since I can't wear heels. By golly, they found me a Goldilocks shoe that I never would have located on my own. I bought 3 more pair after that as they wore out, no need to change perfection. So here I am, years later, looking for a comfortable, supportive casual shoe to help alleviate my pain. I was asking for a lot, but the gentleman who helped me found the perfect shoe. I wanted to cry, my feet immediately felt like they were being hugged by clouds. The staff at Stan's did it again. Now, it's not magic. It's having someone who helps to find your actual correct shoe size. For 20 years I have just assumed I was an 11 or 10.5, sometimes wide, depending on the brand. Turns out that I've been purchasing shoes a half size too large. I used to love a slightly roomier shoe, I thought that's how it should be. But my recent two pair that I have purchased have literally saved me. They are the correct size, they offer actual support, and they have a generous cushion to them. My knee and foot pain have gone from an 8-10 down to an occasional 2-3. Will Stan's work a miracle for your feet? Possibly. If you've been buying the wrong size forever like I have. But in general I have only had positive experiences here and so far zero complaints. As far as price goes, I have found them to offer the exact same price as I would have paid buying directly from the shoe maker online. For example, buying from Hoka directly costs the same as buying from Stan's. The difference is having them now versus waiting on shipping. Stan's will have occasional sales, but I have not compared pricing for those. So when it comes to value I'd say that yes, Stan's is of comparable value.

Kevin was so helpful in explaining shoe fit to me and watched me walk, pointing out that I pronate and need more arch support. I should rewind a bit though because this isn't like any old shoe store where you walk in and start trying things on. You enter, grab a number, walk around to look at shoes or take a seat in one of the many chairs throughout the store. Staff will then find you/call your number. I waited maybe ten minutes and spent another 25-30 with Kevin trying on different shoes. He gave me great advice on breaking in the shoes gradually as my previous shoes didn't have much arch support so it would be a bit of an adjustment. I left with one new pair of brooks aerials and ordered another pair that they didn't have in store. Yes the shoes are pricey but getting high quality shoes that fit your feet is important. Shoes that fit well will save you in the long run on future issues. I've already told several people today to head here and make sure they are wearing the correct shoe size and have the support they need.

Florsheim men's tux plain-toe oxfords. After we compared them to two other pairs of similar shoes on Nordstrom's site, we decided to go with the Florsheim shoes from Macy's. We placed the order through Macy's and it was fulfilled by this Florsheim facility in Glendale, Wisconsin. The shoes cost $110 plus $9.79 in sales tax, so $119.79. Standard shipping was free. The shoes arrived in less than a week. As soon as I unboxed them, we were both immediately impressed with the look of the shoes. They looked just as good in person as they did in the professional pictures on the website. However, we all know the true test is the fit. I've returned or exchanged numerous shoes over the years because, while the shoes looked great, they did not fit great. To my delight, these shoes fit well on the first try. I was pleasantly surprised and happy. I used the "True Fit" feature on Macy's website -- I entered in info about a couple shoes I already owned (brand and size) and the True Fit feature recommended what size I should order these particular shoes in. It worked. If you see True Fit while shopping for shoes online, I highly recommend taking advantage of it. It can save you time and hassle later. The lacing was uneven on one of the shoes so that was annoying. Out of the box, the shoes came with the standard and common criss-cross lacing style, but my wife changed them to the neater and cleaner-looking straight bar lacing style. The shoes look perfect. They fit well and are comfortable too with Memory Foam insoles. These aren't my first pair of Florsheims, but they are the first in a long time. They knocked it out of the park with this order.

While I like their products, their shipping program is very poor. My online order appears to have been shipped from a foreign outsource--so now I will be billed for a "Cross-border Fee." If I had been aware of this, I wouldn't have purchased their shoes. My UPS (United Parcel Service) delivery was scheduled for this afternoon and I tracked it digitally for the past week. I made sure that I was home for my delivery. No delivery was even attempted by UPS. They transferred my delivery to the USPS (United States Postal Service) and no tracking numbers or operators that I've called can tell me where my package is or where I can pick it up. Obviously, I won't be sitting at home all weekend for an unscheduled "second" delivery attempt--when the first delivery wasn't even attempted. Very poor form. Never ever sold or swapped a pair. Anyways, due to the color scheme I've never gotten around to actually rock these shoes due to I don't hv many outfits to match. Although I did buy a matching hat. Lol. Anyways, I say all that to say that I'm NOT a reseller. I decided to off these shoes and cop sumthing that's more in line with what I actually wear. I had my eyes set on the Obsodian retro 1s. So I posted my Rookie of the Year 1s for sale on Stock X and they sold like days later. I send them in only for Stock X to reject them during the verification process due to missing extra shoe laces that originally came with the shoe. However they did VERIFY it as authentic and Dead Stock and placed a VERIFICATION BADGE on the shoes. But sent the shoes back to me. (Again, due to missing extra shoe strings). I have since found the shoe strings in my dresser drawer. But instead of dealing with the hassle of sending them back to Stock X, I found a local buyer who had the Obsidian 1s. So agreed to swap. It was MY IDEA to meet at a reseller store for authentication becuz I wanted to verify what this guy had to be authentic. It turns out Powerhouse Kickz told the guy my shoes were fufu. The shoes that were originally purchased at House of Hoops AND verified by Stock X. (With verification badge still on shoe) They told me and my buyer that Stock X sell fake shoes. I informed him that they WEREN'T purchased from Stock X just verified. He said well Stock X is a person and they make mistakes. Bro, ur a person too. So my buyer passed, naturally. Michael was at a point in which he thought that he had wasted his money and was feeling frustrated as the insoles were causing significant discomfort and even pain. Then THFS called to check on him and he was encouraged to go back to the store and have his feet and inserts checked. Now he is staying on the right track; one step at a time.
