Not only is the farm family run (by a spectacular multigenerational family I might add), but it's filled with all the magic and mystery of the season in the best ways possible. I can't imagine the stress of running a seasonal operation, one where people only consider the here and now and don't recognize the YEAR LONG process that organizing, setting up, planning, creating takes but the O'Malleys do it flawlessly and every year surprise and delight us beyond compare. We love kicking off the holiday season with a trip to the farm to pick up a Christmas tree but more than that, we love the festive and unique experience they offer for us and our three little kids. Let's start with the FREE inclusions...big bonfires, pictures with Santa, hot chocolate and popcorn, shots of Jameson for the moms and dads just trying to stay warm this and every holiday season, funny and cute little holiday headbands (which are such a hit with the littles), holiday photo ops, and the scavenger hunt hayride, which is a family favorite. Then add on the special little extras like snacks (pretzels, churros, chili?!), and s'mores, and even PHOTOS WITH SANTAS REINDEER?!! It's truly like seeing your childhood dreams become a reality. Made a recent return to Bayside Garden Center, and I gotta say we really love this place. The…read moreyearly tradition to get our Xmas tree is wonderful, but even our regular visits throughout the year are always good ones. We popped by to inquire about grass-seeding, and their team is very knowledge! We're hoping to improve our lawn by doing some pre-winter work, followed my spring re-seeding. We gathered a few products that should prove to be helpful! We also love to graze through the gift-like items inside, especially around this time of year. They've started putting our unique holiday item and fun ornaments. Plus, there corner selection of gifts for kiddos is always great. Of course we didn't leave empty handed, as my house needed a few mini xmas trees to add to the decor, and we even grabbed a fun little 'reindeer' game we'll definitely play with the family this season. Planning to come back for a wreath in the coming weeks (they have big and beautiful ones). Highly rec supporting this local garden center if you get the chance.

An employee at Bayside sawed the trunk for us, put the netting on, and strapped it to the top of our car- it really saved us the hassle of doing it ourselves! A couple of disappointments I've had with Bayside are: I applied for a part-time job there a couple of years ago and had spoken to a few different employees. I went in a few times to follow-up. I also made phone calls to follow-up. The manager never got back to me and no one ever called me back. Very disappointing at the time. Also, I have shopped here a lot and purchased multiple things from plants, to plant stands, to gardening tools, etc. I bought a pair of $20 pruning shears for my mom who has arthritic hands and the shears broke on the first use. I went to return them the next day, I didn't have my receipt but they remembered me, and they said I could not return them without the receipt. I was very annoyed.
