Jesse walked me through the scope of work upfront and we moved forward. The job wasn't simple -- the wall behind the shelves had herringbone tile. Jesse opened it up, installed proper backing so the shelves could be bolted in securely, then redid the herringbone tile and matched the existing grout so well you can't tell any repair was ever done. That's exactly the outcome you hope for with tile work. While he was in there, he also fixed a leaking tub spout that required opening another section of wall for plumbing work, then patched and painted it back to seamless. Jesse's attention to detail was outstanding throughout. I'll be calling him for any future work at the house.

He asked if I still had hot water, which we did, so he told me he'd be at my house at 9am with a new 50 gallon Bradford-White unit. His quote was VERY fair and we went with Dan to make the repair. I researched Bradford-White vs. Rheem and was glad we took his recommendation. Dan arrived at 8:45am and went right to work. He drained the old water heater and removed it. Then, he installed the new one. He cleaned up everything and was gone by 10:15am. Quality work done professionally at a fair price. I will definitely use Maple Plumbing again.

Requested toilet replacement due to bad flange on existing toilet creating sewer smell in bathroom…read moreand, if needed, a drain clean out. Waited a week for an afternoon appointment. Morning of appointment, plumber calls to reschedule to that morning due to a personal appointment he had scheduled that afternoon. We scramble to accommodate but inform that due to reschedule there's no one to help carry the toilet up and light of stairs. Instant attitude. Plumber arrives with helper, is rude, condescending, asking why we want the toilet replaced, I list the services requested. He then denys there's drain clean out requested while waving his phone around telling me I'll have to reschedule. There's an obvious sewer smell in the bathroom, yet he can't smell anything. I tell him that was the purpose for his being there. He again denies it's on the service request so I tell him I'll call husband, he states he'll go get the toilet. I'd had my husband on the phone listening to all of this the whole time when plumber arrived and started being rude to me. Told husband I wasn't going to have someone in my home that I'm paying for a service, that is being so rude to me, that now don't trust to do this service. He agreed. I went to garage and cancelled service. He tells me I owe him $59. I tell him I'll call his office, he repeats I owe him $59. I tell him I'm not paying him a dime, I'll call his office and to leave. He says some choice words, I tell him good luck at his Drs appt. While closing garage door. Handy more choice words, I then tell him to get off my property or I'm calling the police. He leaves, I go inside. Husband's still on the phone and heard everything. He's outraged and called their office. Plumber told then owner I was nasty to him, was told that my husband heard everything because he was on the phone with me the whole time. Apologies were said and he asked if he could send someone else out, we've declined their service.

I scheduled an appointment for 8am on Monday, by 10am I was panicking because we had a main line sewer clog and had not received any communication. I texted, I called (never went to voicemail except one time days later, every other time it appears someone answered the phone while on mute so I'd just hang up). It wasn't until my husband started calling that he finally got an answer and was told they'd be here at noon. That time again came and went, but they did finally show up at 1pm. The two guys that came out resolved the issue, but said their "card reader was down and could only accept cash". Since this repair is going through my home warranty, I need the invoice for reimbursement and have been told since Monday that Bob (the owner) would send it. Monday night he said, nothing. Tuesday night he said, nothing. Wednesday morning he said he was working on it "right now", nothing. Wednesday evening he said he was working on it "right now", you guessed it - nothing. At this point I don't think it's ever going to happen, likely because this isn't a real company. They're not BBB accredited, cannot communicate over several days, and overall has been a nightmare to work with. I'm kicking myself for cancelling with another plumber that quoted me the same price, so don't be like me - call this guy instead (2247046220) Drainmaster Sewer & Plumbing LLC! Same price, way more professional, and has the reviews to back it up. Additionally, it really rubbed me the wrong way that he would not answer me but would respond when my husband contacted him (on several occasions). Despite me being the one to schedule and pay, it seems Bob does not want to work with women. Run, don't walk, away from this poor excuse of a "business". Bob has no idea how to run a reputable company.

They had some install issues with the second faucet and stayed until it was completely done and functioning well, past 8pm on a Friday. The price was a touch higher than what I expected BUT I did not ask for an estimate and they did have to do some extra work they didn't anticipate, so I was happy to pay. I'm actually fairly certain they fixed my running toilet and I didn't even ask them to do that. I highly recommend this service.

TERRIBLE SERVICE AND MANAGEMENT. DO NOT HIRE THEM FOR YOUR SERVICE. RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. DESERVES ZERO STARS. I received service from Roto Rooter to getting sewer rodding done. I was given a two hour time frame when I initially called. Two hours later, I received a phone call that the technician was running behind schedule. The technician said it would be 400 hundred dollars for an outdoor rodding service when he came. We came to agreement to a lower price that would include both the rodding service and for camera inspection a couple days later included in that price. The technician mentioned I would hear from Roto Rooter a day or two later regarding the camera inspection...I never heard back, so I called the following week to get a status update. When I called to get an update, the dispatcher not only raised her voice at me and argued with me, but also hung up on me without listening to the full story!! They were going to charge me an extra couple hundred dollars to have someone come do the camera inspection. I told the dispatcher that is not what I was told and what was written on the paper. I also have video proof of the conversation through our doorbell with the technician stating the camera inspection was included in the price. I had to call back off a different number for them to answer and speak with management. The manager was not willing to listen to the story of what happened, but instead was defending the employees while also being rude. What kind of company allows their employees to speak rudely and raise their voices at the customers and hang up on them. She said she does not allow customers to raise their voice at employees, but was okay with the employees raising their voice at me and hanging up. What kind of training and service is that!! It was very rude and disrespectful. I DO NOT plan on using this company ever again. They try to scam you out of money for a service that won't take long, while being rude and disrespectful. Like other reviewers have mentioned, there are other companies providing higher quality services at a lower price, who have better customer services skills than the employees at Roto Rooter. It is unbelievable they allow their employees to talk like this to customers. Never using them again! read more

This is what kind of service you get from these guys. I called before 2 PM and told them their technician did not connect the washing machine drain hose to the drain pipe and left it hanging on the dry wall. When I used the washing machine and did not know that the washing machine hose was not connected to the drain pipe. All the water from the washing machine completely distorted my ceiling and the water went into the cabinets. I called them several times asking where is the service person that was suppose to come and they did not have an answer. So they called at 7 pm saying he will be there in 30 minuets and he never showed up. These guys end up showing after 1 PM, after 23 hours later. They only put 3 fans to dry the water. They refuse to check for mold, check for water damage, check for electrical damage and refuse to paint my kitchen ceiling. Then they want me to sign a paper that says that I cannot come after them for damages if I want a refund for the pluming. Be aware their customer services and service they provided at home is absolutely horrible. Now my house will have mold where the water went. Don't trust them at all. I will file a law suit if they do not fix the issue they created. read more

We just bought our first home and the second day after taking a shower, the toilets and utility room drain all backed up. We called Roto-Rooter and were given an accurate estimate of the wait time, including the option for a water restoration service to come in, although the damage was not that bad. Silvano came in and did a thorough inspection, very knowledgable and helpful. Unfortunately we discovered the line from our newly purchased home to the city sewer line was rotten and broken at the basement connection, requiring excavation and installation of PVC pipe instead of the ancient cast iron pipes previously present. Pretty disheartening for new home owners! Silvano was very nice and sympathetic to our situation, even explaining that we could have had a pipe and plumbing inspection as part of our home inspection before buying -- now we know what to do next time! The day after, Jesus and his crew came out and did a great job excavating and installing the new pipe with minimal damage to our front lawn. I highly recommend Silvano, Jesus, and their teams as everyone was very helpful and sympathetic to our situation. We can now take showers in our new home! read more

I called Roto-Rooter because I sold my house and was having the inspection in a few days. I noticed a leak in my basement so i called them and was able to get someone that same day (within a few hours). My tech Howard (4285) was great and very informative, i showed him the leak and after searching for the cause he found the pin size hole, and advised how to fix it. while double checking to make sure there are no more leaks he noticed a loose tube from the ac and stated that should not be dripping to the floor it should be connected and drained. he was able to connect the tube and fix the a leak. Not once did he try to up-sale or try to make/get the service, he gave his "professional opinion & recommendations" he also advised exactly what to do to fix the small hole and to call them if work needs to be done once the inspection comes back. I would defiantly recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone looking for plumbing services. I will be calling them if inspection comes back with work. I called Roto Rooter because my mothers toilet was leaking from underneath the toilet. I knew there was going to be issues so I called the professionals first. Dave and his partner showed up and instantly knew what the issue was. My elderly mother was using bathroom wipes and flushing them down the toilet. Dave and his partner got their equipment out and went straight to work. They were both very courteous to me and my mother and were always communicating exactly what they were doing. 2 hours later they had cleaned out her mainline from the toilet out the the city sewer and cleaned up after themselves. I think it was a fair price and i don't mind paying more for great customer service and a job well done. We had a gas shut off valve that was leaking and continued to do so when turned off so the gas co turned it off at the meter, this was very late in the evening. I called Roto Rooter just before 5am and requested service. At 7am I received a phone call telling me my plumber, Armion was on his way. Armion told me exactly what he needed to do and replaced the valve, turned on the gas and made sure the gas hot water heater and furnace were lit and the stove worked before he left. He also took extra special care to wear protective booties over his shoes to protect our new carpeting. He was knowledgeable and professional. He is an asset to the company, Thank you Armion! Nothing worse than finding your homes main drain clogged. I've used Roto Rooter before and have always had great service. This was a Sunday and there was no up charge. Kyle #784 arrived on time. He is very personable, thoroughly checked the problem, was very upfront about what needed to be done, the cost and kept me informed through the whole process. Because I have a really old house, I was concerned that there were more issues with the pipe. Before Kyle packed up and left, he had his field supervisor Bob Kroll bring a camera and complete a thorough check of my main drain. It's great to have that piece of mind. I made a call on Saturday morning and had a technician at my house in 3 hours. I needed the main drain for my downstairs plumbing unplugged as sewage was coming up through the basement shower...yes...disgusting. Roto Rooter was excellent with communication, notifying me through texts of arrival. Felipe is a 27 year veteran at Roto Rooter and knew his stuff. When he was done everything worked perfect. He left everything in great shape (the santizing was my job), but the shower was free from debris before he left. Excellent work on our water piping in the ceiling. Don #3145 came out and did a great job on the copper piping plan in a space that was very difficult to reach etc. We will be using him again for sure on our next plumbing project. He was very busy that day, so arrived a little later in the afternoon but was ready to do the job and answered all my questions very well. I was visiting my mom in Aurora IL. Original appt was for Sunday. Was pushed back due to rain and other customer emergencies. No worries my issue was not an emergency. We had a cast iron drain that obviously needed to be replaced. We had called several other plumbing companies in the area that would not give me a quote would only say it cost a lot of money. My entire experience with Roto-Rooter was fantastic. The person I scheduled the appointment with and the person who called to let me know that the technician was on his way were both extremely pleasant. Giovann (tech #2910) was incredibly nice, professional, and helpful. He answered all my questions, but more important he got my shower drain running again! I'm located in Uptown and there are plenty of closer options in Chicago for drain clearing services, but I'm very glad my landlord recommended this one. Horrible experience! Our upstairs bathroom had a bad leak they came and "fixed it" a couple months later SAME issue happened and they claimed it is our fault because when we get out of the shower we drip to much water out of the tub!?!? So they return and bring back those big industrial fan blower for the bathroom and heat up the whole house!!!! And the other one strayed leaking water into our brand new floors!!!!!! When calling that morning telling them , they said they would arrive between 9-12pm never came!!! We are done with you guys! Horrible horrible horrible. read more

I would call these people again in a heartbeat. I've never had a sump pump bust in the middle of a downpour before but the damage was definitely an 'emergency'. Roto rooter made me feel like a priority without charging me extra for the privilege. Sump pump was changed out for a reasonable price and water mitigation was scheduled easily-again without exorbitance. Had Roto-Rooter out last night to take care of a slow drain that was backing up occasionally. The plumber (Giovann - Tech #2910) was outstanding. He identified the various problems, talked me through what he needed to do, and showed me the results of what he had done. It couldn't have been easier, and he couldn't have been more professional. I called mid-morning to schedule a dishwasher installation and they scheduled it right away for later that day and said to call back if the dishwasher was delivered earlier so I wouldn't have to wait longer than needed for them to install. He looked at the leak and went to Association office of my condo building to request a water shut off to change a cartridge. He was told the shut off would have to be scheduled. He came back to remove cover to see if I had a shut off by the cartridge. I did not. Even though I did not have a shut off he decided to remove the cartridge anyway, but was unable to turn it. Then he said if he was able to remove the cartridge everything would get quite wet because the water wasn't able to be shut off. Then he said he didn't want to get wet and would not try to remove the cartridge. He told me that he would have to return in 3-5 days when the water shut off to my tier could be scheduled. Since he could not remove the cartridge he decided that it was on too tight. He told me I would have to soak rags in vinegar and wrap them around the cartridge and keep rags wet until he returned. He told me if I didn't do this that he might have to go into the wall in the hallway to get to the cartridge. I told them that he would have to get permission from the Association to do something so drastic. The Association told him no. Then before he left he told me to keep the bathroom door closed and leave the ceiling fan on until he returned in 3-5 days. He closed the door. I told him that I had the fan on but wasn't sure it was even working. He did not check the fan and closed the door. When he left, he left muddy boot prints from my bathroom all the way to my front door. When I responded to the ad on Yelp the price to come out was quoted as $69.99 to come out. When he replied to my email he changed the price and said it would be $39.99, but before he left he changed the price again to $69.99. I am a disabled senior citizen dealing with a stranger in my unit and was afraid to question him. I notified his company about the mess he made and they said they had no one to clean it up except him. I told them I did not want him coming back at all because I didn't trust him. I also talked to Association office and we decided he was not competent and that he should not return. I hired a different plumber to come and look at the faucet. They came and found the bathroom door closed and asked me why it was closed. I told them that Preferred Plumbing closed the door. When the door was opened my entire bathroom was dripping water - from the ceiling, down the walls, dripping from the light fixtures and my medicine cabinet. All of the knobs on both my medicine cabinet and my vanity were corroded from the dripping water. The paint was pealing off some of the walls and bubbling up on others. The stain on my medicine cabinet was also peeling off. The floor was so wet I had to put towels down so this plumber could have access to the leaky faucet. Even though I had told Grant that I didn't believe the fan was working, he never checked it before he closed the door. The light fixture was blinking off and on. The new plumber told me that the water probably got into the walls and may have shorted out the wires. Even the floor tiles were coming up. The bathroom door was so distorted from the excessive water it had absorbed it had to be forced to open it all the way. I have been back and forth with Preferred Plumbing explaining the discrepancy in the pricing and the amount of damages Grant caused by closing the door, but they decided that Grant was not at fault. They also refused to adjust the pricing even though I sent them a copy of the email that Grant sent to me quoting the price as $39.99. When the new plumber came he had no problems removing the cartridge even though I had been unable to apply the vinegar soaked rags that Grant insisted were necessary. I would not recomend Grant or Preferred Plumbing to anyone. They changed the pricing and caused a lot of damage to my bathroom. They accepted no responsibility for the price changes Grant made and refused to take responsibility for any of the damages that Grant caused by closing the bathroom door without checking to see if the fan was working even though I told Grant that I did not believe it was working.

We suspected it might be the capacitor, but the first technician pushed for a new motor. The second technician didn't mention the capacitor or the motor and instead recommended replacing the entire unit for $9,000. Aquaduct diagnosed the problem as a faulty capacitor and replaced it. If we truly needed a new air conditioner, that would have been fine. Our current unit is 15 years old, and we understand that it might have been time. But what we wanted was an honest assessment, and that's exactly what Aquaduct provided. I highly recommend Aquaduct!

We had an extremely poor experience with Aquaduct Plumbing after they installed our water heater…read more The installation was not done correctly (dielectric union, flue and drain pan) and corrosion developed at the dielectric union within a few years. This issue was pointed out to their technician during a service visit, & we followed up by email with photos clearly showing the corrosion. They claimed it was not their fault and since it is outside the labor warranty they wouldn't take care of it. When the issue recently worsened and we asked them to stand behind their installation, they pointed to an expired labor warranty and then stopped responding to our emails entirely. A water heater installation should last far longer than this without corrosion at the fittings, and a reputable plumbing company should take responsibility when a clear installation issue is identified, regardless of elapsed time. Unfortunately that was not our experience with Aquaduct Plumbing. Now I have a 4 year old water heater that will likely need fully replaced because of this piece that is almost fully corroded. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
