Very disappointed with our experience. The main issue seemed to revolve around our current dog not being on heartworm and flea prevention for the last few months, despite the fact that we already had an upcoming vet appointment scheduled to get everything updated. Rather than having a respectful conversation, the communication immediately felt accusatory and shaming, as if we were irresponsible pet owners. At one point, we were essentially being asked to go purchase medication and provide months worth of preventative care for our dog and the new puppy we had not even adopted yet, before we were even approved. The entire process became increasingly uncomfortable and honestly unprofessional. There's a difference between advocating for animals and speaking down to potential adopters. Rescue organizations should absolutely care about where animals are placed, but there's also a way to communicate with kindness, professionalism, and basic respect. We ultimately decided to move forward with another agency that treated us like capable adults instead of assuming the worst. I truly hope they reevaluate how they communicate with applicants in the future because the experience left a really bad impression.

Ray and Barb obviously loved Max and he loved them. Ray went to great lengths to help us understand what we would be getting into with an adoption. We took a couple of days to request a home visit for Max. Being a puppy Max has tons of energy and that was a concern for this retired couple. While picking Max up I could tell that Ray was looking to see how we reacted to Max. During the trial visit we knew the second day that Max was now in his forever home. Max was house trained and sleeps all night in a crate from day one. Ray would touch base with us everyday to see how things were going. In short, the process was explained well and great care was taken to ensure that we were a good fit for Max. We couldn't be happier with our new puppy and the adoption process.
