Do not go here!!! We took our two dogs here when we first moved to the area. I was very surprised when I pulled up to his house. The outside kennels are trashed. The fences are falling over in places. There is literally trash around the front of his house and in the kennels. He wasn't there when I got there even though we had scheduled a specific time. I called him and he got upset. He said that I should have called him half an hour before I got there. Again, we scheduled a time. He arrived in a rush and I was heading to the airport, so I didn't get a chance to check out inside of his house. I looked at the reviews on here and they were all 5 stars. I thought, ok so his outside kennels are run down but he is really good with dogs. I came to pick my dogs up about 4 days later. They were stressed and ready to get out of there. And they stank! We again scheduled a specific time to pick them up (and called half an hour before). We also scheduled for them to have baths right before we picked them up. That didn't happen - I'm pretty sure he sprayed them with a dog freshener type of thing because their top coats on their backs were wet and smelled like that. So I thought, ok he didn't have a chance to give them baths. I asked him if he gave them baths and he said yes. .I said that they smelled bad. I thought that maybe there was a miscommunication...he flipped out on me. Seriously, this man started yelling at me! It was crazy! He said, how dare I say that he didn't do his job! I was speechless. Then he went into a huge tirade on how he couldn't pick up my large dog to bathe him because he had a hernia. TMI, right? I said, so you didn't actually bathe them then? That was it. He blew up and told me that he didn't want to ever watch my dogs again. Like I'd take them back there. FYI - He wouldn't even let me come in his house when I picked the dogs up. I came to the door and the smell of urine was overpowering. When he opened the door I realized that the smell was coming from inside the house. He checked who I was, closed the door on me and then brought the dogs outside. I started to write a check and he said that he only takes cash (red flag!), but by that time he had already yelled at me, so he was getting paid with a check or not at all. I don't know how anyone would give this man a good review!

I took her to camp bow wow for what was supposed to be a 2 night boarding stay. An hour after I dropped her off I received a call from the manager saying that she has been bitten by another dog and was bleeding but the injuries seemed minor. I requested he send me pictures and authorized him to take her to the vet. The pictures did not show the wound in its entirety (she is quite wiggly but I still think good pictures could have been taken). The picture showed two bites that punctured through the skin, whereas she had three bites that punctured through the skin, and two more that left decent marks but didn't break the skin. The manager took her to the vet (he attempted to take her to our current vet but they were full for the day). The vet called me to explain the depth of the injuries and what all needed done. In the end her injuries were not superficial like the manager led me to believe but needed staples. (The manager isn't a medical professional so he gave his best guess I assume) I didn't feel my puppy was safe there so I decided to pick her up a day early. When I picked her up her bed was soiled which leads me to believe she wasn't taken out. The cone the vet gave her was cracked when I got her, and they had the cracked cone on her like it wasn't a problem or a hazard. Luckily I had an inflatable recovery collar on hand in prep for her getting spayed. I do appreciate the way it was handled (they took her to the vet, covered the cost, and made her boarding stay free.) However, I don't feel that the dogs were being properly watched, otherwise this wouldn't have happened.

I wish I had thought to actually take a photo when they showed it to me. But that essentially is what they pulled out of Mocha's ear. They actually had it in a plastic baggie for me to keep if I wanted it ‍ Anyways I politely declined. Although it did look cool af. When I brought Mocha into the vets office yesterday I thought I was just bringing him in to check out his ear then would have to take him back in for the procedure. The doctor surprised me when he asked me when Mocha had eaten that day. I asked why and he said "well cause if you leave him here we will just take it out today and you can pick him up at 4". After picking up my jaw off the floor (mainly due to my baby boy going under anesthesia unexpectedly) I left. The vet was so fantastic! Mocha was quiet on the ride home and a little drunken sailor for the evening, but he wasn't in pain or uncomfortable anymore. He's completely back to his normal psycho self. Definitely recommend Pleasantburg Vet to anyone in the area needing a vet. They have been our vet for over a year now and I'm very pleased with them.

I was able to make an appointment easily over the phone, about a week in advance. I had a great experience checking in, loved the vet Dr Stauffer, and was in and out in under an hour! I felt that my pet was taken care of and I left with a good understanding of the underlying illness and required care. The place was smaller than expected, which wasn't an issue at check in but was very crowded when leaving (multiple large dogs in the small lobby, a desk/workspace in the patient waiting area instead of behind the counter, just overall crowded). Loved all of the vintage pet artwork. Overall good experience!
