What should've been the correct receipt "with comped night" (that we were charged for on top of the whole amount AND refund)

We made our reservation over the phone for April 2, 2026 - April 4, 2026 with an over the phone live person at the Motel. The person put the incorrect dates completely in the system, and we were charged $579.12 "for a no show". I called the Blue Dolphin Inn Directly, and they promised us that they were refunding the total of $579.12, when in reality they charged us ANOTHER $200.00 on top of the original amount! They claimed to "comp" us one night, but charged us for it, and charged us ANOTHER $477.00!!! We went through round three of trying to get this squared away, and the girl at the front desk, (working April 3, at 4:30pm) was not only rude, but lying in an effort to fail to refund us the now fraudulently gained money. She stated "you booked through Expedia", whom I've never used in my life. She talked over me, and down to me. A TERRIBLE experience. We are now over $1,000.00 for two nights at the rates of $165.00 & $183.00 You do the math. This has ruined our trip. Caused nothing but stress, the exact thing we came here to get away from, and will never again stay at any Motels operated by this company. I'm not a negative person, and I hate to write this, but this is the only way I may be able to get a return call from HQ or any Manager at that.

On our previous visit to Cambria we stayed at The Sand Pebbles Inn. The Blue Dolphin is run by the same group of Inns. We reserved an ocean front room on the first floor with a patio. The room with a King bed was comfortable. The walk in shower was spacious. The mini refrigerator is a great convenience. We enjoyed the fireplace as the temperature at night was cold. The patio is perfect for enjoying the water view and sunset. Breakfast is preordered and delivered to your room at your selected time Parking is available alongside and in back of the Inn. Parking alongside is most convenient for rooms closer to the ocean.

    Breakfast options. No substitutions available.

I wanted an ocean view room but none were available. Our room was clean, comfortable with a bed, two chairs flanked by a small table next to an underwhelming view of the outside. Also included: a one cup coffee maker, small refrigerator, microwave and daily breakfast. My husband had the yogurt parfait. Good. I had the vegetarian scramble. Adequate. Breakfast also included orange juice but it was not fresh and tasted terrible. Would have preferred a fruit cup but substitutions were not available. Certain parking spots were tight and difficult to maneuver around. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely return. Our room price was very reasonable and location was centrally located.

My second time staying here wasn't as great as the first time. I absolutely loved the room I stayed in the first time. I made sure to take a picture of the name of the room. So the following year I could request that exact room. I called multiple times for dates on that specific room. Finally I said what dates is that room available. I was given dates and said ok perfect I want those three nights. When I arrived I immediately saw that the paperwork had a different room name. I said something right away but I felt like the gentleman didn't want to hear it. My mom went back and said something a second time and we didn't get an apology or anything. I was pretty disappointed. We literally planned the timing of the trip around the specific room. I also brought a lot of snacks to put in the refrigerator since I knew they had one. It never stayed closed so things didn't get very cold. I still enjoyed my time but it's not fun when your trip starts off on a negative note.

Beautiful hotel, great people, amazing views. We spent 1 night, wish we could stay a week! We visited the Cambria Christmas Market and the next morning enjoyed the delivered breakfast out on the patio. The hotel is very affordable, clean, quiet, with very comfortable beds. Irma was so nice and helped save a parking space because we brought a big van to accommodate all 10 of us! Can't wait to come back!

The view and walk-way/ trail just a few feet from The Blue Dolphin Inn.

Love, Love this place!! It's our go-to for our anniversary every year!! We've tried others in the area but this place never disappoints! It's walking distance to Moonstone Beach Grill which has delicious food and full bar.

What you need to know. First it needs to be said that the accoutrements and service have been reduced but,...not the prices. Others in the area have adjusted better. Service- the in room coffeemaker sprang a leak and dumped hot water on the cabinet. When reported I was handed a rag. A replacement appeared outside my door later. I did not craw behind the refrigerator to install it. Room items - has shifted to a demand-based process. Prepare a request form to bring with you include items that you would like refreshed and drop it iff at the office EVERY day (coffee, tea, water, cookies, etc.). Otherwise they will not be replaced until you leave...no matter how long you stay. Note- beds will not be made. No little chocolates on the pillows, etc. Breakfast items have been pared down as has the packaging (now a small grocery-bag) Still my favorite group of accommodations nicely outfitted and kept well, very good place to stay but,... Print the TV guide (first page) to take with you, there may not be one in the room. You really don't need the other three pages (all sports, ugh).

Staff are super friendly and helpful. Great location. Beautiful path out in front and overlooking the water. Rooms are clean and nice. A bit cozy for us and our two kids, but totally doable. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed the complimentary wine with ocean view and one of my biggest reasons for booking it was due to they accept dogs, which says a lot about an establishment. That being said, there are areas for improvement. When I checked into my room, I noticed that the the dark blinds were stuck so I went to the office to see if they could help. The manager came to my room; tried to lower them and agreed they were stuck. She said she would ask the maintenance person to fix it. A day went by and nobody came by. I was awoken to a bright room early in the morning so my sleep was cut short. I went back the office and the same manager welcomed me with "yeah, what's up"? I highlighted that nobody came by to fix it and she seemed pretty indifferent but said she would request it again. Needless to say, nobody showed up to fix it during my whole stay so I was greeted with shortened sleep thanks to the bright room in the mornings. While I was checking out, I highlighted this to the new manager and she laughed it off, saying that's why she brings blindfolds when she travels. No discount offer or anything. Furthermore, their door key cards are the most sensitive I have ever encountered. I had to have them reprogrammed 3 times during my stay. Also, the owner apparently requested that they close the wine tasting early due to rain so, when I showed up to use my complimentary wine vouchers, I found it closed over an hour earlier than their posted closing time but the server did provide me with the complimentary wine since I was a guest but they were no longer offering food so no marinated olives and nuts to go with it. That being said, the Inn does have a great location; is a value and I love that it is dog-friendly but they do need to work on their customer service. Oh and some more Vegan options and recycling/compost bins would certainly help.

You had to go channel by channel and hope to find it out of many channels. By the way, the remote they gave You wasn't a Spectrum remote? We even went to the office for help. They couldn't make it work. I wasn't here to watch TV of course but When it's dark, breezy and in the 50ies outside a nice sitcom before bed is sometimes nice. 3. This morning we went to get a cup of coffee at 8:05am. Coffee is supposed to be available @ 7am. Not open. 5 other guests were waiting patiently. Could we ask the office? No it wasn't open either. It finally opened at 8:10am. 4. Oh by the way, bring your sunglasses for Your room. The only lighting is spot lights in the ceiling. Nothing you can control from bed side. Were there any dimmers to adjust the lighting down from solar flare to reasonable. Nope. Just the palm of my hand or sunglasses. Again By the way, the Cambria area is awesome with some great wholesome dining experiences. Linn's and Robin's. Wow! We've stayed along Moonstone over the years. Just never @ the Cambria Shores Inn. Guess what? Never again because there are lots of choices along Moonstone. I'd like to rate it a 1 star. But, Mother Nature helped take the feeling of total disappointment away. Every time We strolled down the Moonstone board walk across the street it melted Our disappointment away. For a while. What a beautiful Ocean front.

We enjoyed our stay and all the front desk employees were extremely polite, helpful and accommodating. The room was very clean. The fireplace is easy to use and extremely effective. However, I would like to make a few suggestions on how to improve the experience of staying at Moonstone Landing for all your guests: First, please provide your guests with 3-ply, SOFT toilet paper. The cheap, one-ply toilet paper this hotel uses was horrible to use. If you're asking guests to pay premium prices for these rooms then at least provide them with decent toilet paper. Second, please consider investing in NEW, comfortable outdoor patio chairs with accompanying foot rests. The chairs you have now feel cheap and uncomfortable. Third, I would jazz up the "average" continental breakfast. It's the one thing hungry guests look forward to every morning and the pastries provided leave one underwhelmed and still hungry. Linn's cheese danish pastries are delicious but the other two muffins were "meh". The boiled eggs are fine. I think adding a variety of cereals would be appreciated. Maybe provide granola bars? Fourth, I know renovations are costly. But at some point you'll have to redo the stone flooring in all the bathrooms as the long cracks in the stone initially make a bad impression. Again, we enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this hotel. As a long-time patron, I'm offering my insights in the hopes you'll make the necessary changes to stay competitive and continue to draw in new guests.

I called multiple times over two days to confirm we were bringing our dog and never got an answer. you do have to leave a voicemail and they will return call. There is no AC unit, which may be an issue for some guests. especially for hotter days and the room does not have cross wind/circulating windows, Also, the booking photos show a sliding glass door to the beach (Hotel.com needs to update photos), but the hotel is actually across the street. Our window faced the water, but it's not a direct walk-out beach property. Now for the positives, the staff (all of them) were amazing. The rooms are bungalow-style and very clean and spacious. The hotel is pet-friendly $100 fee, and check-in/check-out was easy. The check-in area feels cozy and homey, with couches, chairs, books, and games available. They offer beer, wine, adult beverages (Adult options for your coffee), plus a kitchen and outdoor fireplace sitting area. The hotel is directly across the street from the beach, about a 2-min walk to the water. The room was large and well-stocked with a mini fridge (fees may apply), huge comforters, bathrobes, slippers, a fan, fireplace, shower supplies such as body wash, shampoo, and conditioner, and a sitting chair. There are many additional amenities available for a fee in the room and in their lobby area. In the morning, they deliver a basket with pastries croissants, cinnamon rolls, coffee, orange juice, and champagne, a really nice touch. They also have bikes you can use and go bike riding, corn hole games, picnic benches, There's also an ice maker on-site. Parking spaces are small, so be cautious if you have a lifted truck or wide rims. The area itself is very nice. The hotels along the coastline are set up similarly, facing north and south, so most have somewhat obstructed or no ocean views or direct walk-on beach access. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place, Hotel cost wasn't too bad but remember all the hotels in this area do not have walk out beach rooms. Area is very quiet, relaxing, and peaceful, and EVERYONE is pet friendly even with a pitbull breed. Our kids had a blast in the ocean and were able to play board games eat ice cream and enjoy the scenery. there are several benches along the walk path in case you need to sit down and relax. There is small community town about 15min tops. several restaurants and shopping. old town style, very homey. so, if you're looking for a disconnect type of vacation, no party scene, just want peaceful and relaxation, this is the place. I will attach pictures and I do apologize because these were at the end of the trip and not when we first arrived. so, excuse the beds. The hotel was very clean and have hardwood floors.
