The only guy in the area that knows how to fix watches. I brought 5 dead watches in and he was able to get them all running like new.

Their shop is full of vintage OSU items and antique watches and jewelry which I perused during the repair.

While it is true that it is a husband-and-wife business, Mike, one of the owners, mainly handles the coins. His wife answers the doorbell and assists with paperwork and some jewelry assessments, but during my almost hour-long wait with my sister, I only saw her look at one piece of jewelry that came in. All coin transactions with customers looking to sell are managed by Mike. When we finally met with him, he spent over 20 minutes explaining why he would not be purchasing our Morgan and Peace Dollars. It wasn't because they were fake; rather, my sister had purchased them from the Bradford Exchange, and while they were in "PCGS type" holders, Mike noticed that many coins were cleaned, which devalues them significantly. He was very kind and even suggested that we take them to a coin show. Mike also mentioned that if I bring in items that require closer inspection, I should make an appointment. He indicated that appointments take priority. This is truly a "Mom and Pop" establishment, and you should expect to wait a long time. They are upfront about this and may ask you to return later if possible because the shop is small, has no seating, and wait times can be lengthy. This is the only reason I rated it four stars. I found Mike to be friendly and attentive, taking the time to ensure that every customer who walked in understood why he would or would not purchase the items they presented. I can not comment on his inventory because the day I came, we was so busy with sellers he didn't even have a chance to put any coins out on his displays.

I had a great experience with Olufson Designs. I wandered in one day with questions about having my…read morering sized differently. They took detailed photos of the ring before, which were included on the estimate and receipt, and gave a clear estimate of what to expect. This is after we dropped it off at a different shop in Albany to have two bands soldered together, where photos were not taken of the ring at drop off and he felt overall uneasy about that experience. I really felt like everyone was friendly and helpful!

About a year ago, I brought a ring in to Olufson to inquire about having it appraised. I wanted to have it appraised for insurance). I don't think she knew that I brought the ring in a year or two earlier to have the gem identified (it was an inherited ring and we didn't know what the gem was). And I was told at the time that it was a high quality gem with high quality diamonds on it. She offered to buy it on the spot for $388. I politely declined knowing that the ring was likely worth a lot more. I finally had it appraised and the replacement value is off the charts. I know that replacement/insurance value is not equal to a purchase/selling price AT ALL, but the gold alone is worth 10x what they offered me. So shady. I would never go back to Olufson after this. Moral of the story: Always ALWAYS get a second opinion. Never sell jewelry on the spot. And maybe avoid Olufson.

Costco didn't have anything at drop off so we were left to search thru items here. Even the basic t shirts are $15. If you want an item that is Nike you'll pay between $70-120 for a shirt or hoodie. For those prices you should earn college credit!!! They have some changing rooms to try on clothing- which was absolutely vital to be sure items fit before buying them. They had a few couches which we kinda took over with trying to find the right sizes and take some breaks after walking all around campus. The women's side was disappointing because they had so many damn crop tops. Not everyone who is a woman is college aged and wants half of a shirt or sweatshirt. There seemed to be similar items and themes. It would have been nice to change things up a bit and have different things on T shirts and sweatshirts. We wanted to show support of our Beaver but didn't expect to drop so much damn money. Don't come to this store expecting good deals. Make sure you have a spare kidney when you checkout!!!

The selection is not horrible, but the prices ruin it. The other problem is that they are never actually open when you are in the area and consider popping in. Overall this store is a waste of time and not worth the hassle of finding a parking spot to visit.
