I needed the battery replaced in my watch recently. I called one of the big jewelry places in town and asked about the service. They said it's preferred to have the customer to drop off and allow 24 hours for their watchmaker. Not that I was necessarily in a hurry for the service but I decided to contact one more place just to see, and found great reviews for Art's so I gave them a call. I spoke with a very nice older man who told me watch battery replacement is a walk-in service completed while you wait. Great! I kid you not when I say that this service took 90 seconds or less to be done! It took longer for me to dig into my purse for my wallet than it did for that person to swap the battery, check it and reset the time, giving my watch a quick clean with a cloth before handing it back over. It was amazing! In and out in 5 minutes! Art's storefront is located in a little business area of Goodpasture Island tucked amongst other small businesses and medical offices, with plenty of parking. It is a small shop but you don't need much when dealing with small items like watches and jewelry (likely easily missed unless you are looking for this type of business). My cat passed away very recently and I've had this cat ring since childhood that I hadn't worn for a long time because it was broken. I took it to Art's on 9/21 with a promise it would be ready by 9/26. I got the call in the early afternoon that it was ready! I drove there very excited to see it. And let me tell you, I am so incredibly impressed with the quality. They were able to solder the band so you can't even tell it had been broken and they polished it so well it looks brand new!!! The gentleman was so kind too and asked me about my cat, knowing I was supposed to get her ashes back today (which I received earlier). Customer service and quality are top notch. I recently moved to Oregon and was looking for someone to look at my Nixon watch, I have had it many years and never had anything go wrong with it. I took it to John who told me the watch case was on too tight, the battery was fine, cleaned the terminals and put oil on the mechanism, few mins later he said it had started working. I live in a small town on the coast. One day I noticed that I had lost a sapphire out of my wedding ring. The local jeweler estimated $2600 to repair and replace the Sapphire. My husband and I drove up to Eugene and went to Art's. They replaced the two sapphires on each side of my diamond with higher quality stones so that they would match.
