The owner is dismissive, unresponsive, and does not care whatsoever about the quality of work and does not see through resolution of whatever issue you have going on. IMO the only thing he cares about is getting paid + squeezing in as many jobs as humanly possible in a day. My experience was not a one-off as I hired Andover Pest Control for multiple properties of mine, each having different set of problems. All experiences were of similar nature = over promise and entirely under deliver. I only started using them because the previous exterminator I used for 10+ years passed away and figured I would give a local company a shot. Well, here we are. The work they "completed" not only did not make any difference.... it ultimately caused more issues than when started. I was promised refunds (in writing) of which were never sent or received. Color me surprised Mike didn't stand by his word..... I have since hired a new company to complete all the work and it has been night and day in relation to professionalism, responsiveness, treatment plan, and results. There are some great options and professionally run companies out there so be sure to do your research. I wish I had actually read through the reviews before hiring..... because it looks like my story is not unique. **To address Mike's response, more lies. 1) The property he mentioned that was "strewn with garbage" is accurate. This was a pre-renovation treatment he performed. I had just purchased the property at time of treatment and inherited tenants that had been living there for 20+ years. In fact, the 5 month renovation was just completed this week. 2) The other 2 units he mentions were 2015 gut renovations one of which the most recent tenants had caused over $30,000 in damage. I just completed 3 months of repairs there prior to being comfortable having new tenants move in. 3) His tech waited for 1.5 hours because tenants were late moving out; and the tech happily agreed to wait saying he would just go grab lunch and come back. I went out of way to express to Mike how friendly his tech was and that he was lucky to have a worker like him because they are not easy to find.... to which he chastised me for asking him to wait. 4) Mike has never once been inside my personal property. 5) Mike admitting I had to file to my credit card company for reimbursement is also accurate.... since he stopped responding after saying he would provide refunds. When I explained that they would need at least a 40 foot ladder to get access to them, he said, no problem! When can be there tomorrow. They got to my house, and took care of all of the wasps. They haven't been back since. I'm not sure if what I paid was a cheap price or if i overpaid, but I really don't care because my wasp issue is gone. Totally worth the cost. Mike is a coward and will perform services at your home as if they're 100% certain to work, sell you on a guarantee in case it doesn't, then because he did a terrible job, the pests will never actually be gone, and instead all you'll have left is a guarantee... a guarantee he won't take your phone calls, and will actually tell you the words out loud "no" when you tell him you want to show him an area of the house you think the infestation is occurring. Then he'll try to charge you additional fees to perform services that will be damaging to your home and require you to then hire a contractor to repair, because the first services he assured you would work didn't. I paid a fortune and am still living with pests. I also gained a new filthy rat in my life: Mike from Andover Pest Control. Ultimately, because my issues persisted and Mike refused to either refund me or complete the services he was paid for, I had no choice but to dispute his charges on my credit card - a case I won and was wholly refunded for. Shows you just how blatantly in the wrong he was. Having receipts for the additional pest control I had to hire certainly helped. But despite me having my money back, and having the satisfaction of some justice, the truth is this man put my family through hell of sleepless nights not only due to the pests he couldn't get rid of, but due to the stress of dealing with him, wondering if my issues would be resolved, wondering if I'd get my money back, and having to go through all the steps of the dispute. We have called Mike (Andover Pest Control) several times over the past 15 years for pest issues at our home. He has always come out quickly, dealt with the problem efficiently and without fuss, and at a price I consider very reasonable. I will continue to use his company whenever we need one. Today I had a bit of trouble reaching him because an out-of-area competitor had done something sneaky with the Internet search and I ended up speaking with their salesman, not Mike. When I figured out what was going on, I hung up and started over. When I finally reached him, he came over (at 7 PM) and took care of a big nest of yellowjackets that we just discovered. This company did not do effective work for me because it didn't last. They were not helpful to me after initial work. They didn't return calls and were curt and rude. I still have the ant problem. Here's the story: The company responded to an ant problem in my house. He sprayed all around with chemicals, and said it would take 3 weeks to be effective. He suggested that the hedges around the base of the house were too close to the building so ants could get into the house too easily. So I and two other people took on the laborious Job of trimming back so as not to damage the hedges. It seemed to solve the problem, but the ants returned after the 3 months. I have never been treated with this level of rudeness by a business. I called to inquire about an unexpected worker at my door, in an unmarked van. The owner was dismissive and hung up on me. We had a squirrel living in our chimney behind our fireplace insert. We called the Animal Control Officer who spent a couple of hours trying to coax him out with no luck. I called Andover Pest Control and Mike showed up within a half hour. He had a plan and it worked! He caught the squirrel in a cage with a one way gate then sealed up the area he was getting in. Andover pest control was recommended to me to get rid of yellow jackets in the eaves of my cellar entry. I called and spoke to mike. He had his worker come right over. The worker sprayed the section that the nest was in. Then gave me a bill for 290.00 for 20 minutes of spraying. This was a complete ripoff. I made the mistake of not asking how much they would charge because they were recommended by a friend and I didn't think they would have been recommended if their fees were so exorbitant. Owner hung up on me! I had an invoice to have my yard sprayed for ticks and mosquitoes. Invoice description stated 7 sprays, so I was a bit surprised to get another invoice for 3.
