Stopped here on our way to Hebron Lights in Motion. Definitely more of a dive spot. There were people in the bar side but no one in the dining room on a Saturday night at 6ish. We ordered 3 small pizzas and 3 drinks - total was $51 before tip. Pizza was decent. Greek style I would say. Wouldn't go out of my way to go back but decent for a meal on the way to elsewhere. We had buffalo chicken (although we ordered bbq chicken - didn't have time to wait for the right one), broccoli/ricotta, and cheese for pizzas. We recently started going back there because they're near-by. The food had previously been inconsistent to say the least (over-cooked, under-cooked, sloppily thrown together), and usually just not very good tasting in general. A few weeks ago, we ordered grinders. They were actually good. This evening I chose to call to order 3 grinders because I didn't stop and pick up anything for dinner. Depending on who's working, you get asked in a different manner what you'd like to order. I started speaking and said "Two half meatball grinders, one with provolone, but no peppers" and was cut off by the little snot that answered the phone, saying "You don't tell me what you don't want, just what you DO want" - and when I say her tone was rude, I mean she was RUDE. She then said "So what is it that you DO want?" I told her since she was so rude I'll order elsewhere. And I served it back as rudely as she served it to me. Absolutely unacceptable when you work in customer service. The aggravation, poor treatment & customer service, and almost always crappy food - is 1,000% NOT WORTH GOING TO THIS PLACE. Seriously. Drive further. You'll appreciate having listened to this review. Stopped in on a Monday around 1:30, seeing as it was my first time I decided to try two different things. I ordered an 8 inch meatball and an 8" sausage grinder. Both grinders were toasted in the oven on delicious bread with cheese and sauce. I added peppers and onions to the sausage and I recommend you do the same. Both grinders were great but I give the win to the meatball. The meatballs were flavorful, tender , and sliced so they don't drop out of the bread. If you're craving a grinder, give this place a try. Quick pick up lunch to take to family. Had a Caesar Salad that should have stayed home. It was filled with white lettuce pretending to be green. Just a disappointment. Haha, quite possibly the worst pizza I've ever had. Its always!!! Undercooked... They say they offer delivery albeit every time I call the their delivery window is one hour out of the day and they only deliver one day a week or so... That or the driver "hasn't shown up yet" or probably just quit. Please don't charge me as much as you do for the cheese pizza you provide. This has to be our favorite pizza in this part of the state. The live music on the weekend always makes it a fun place to be. The staff is friendly and remembers your name and order. walk in and your favorite drink is on the counter a minute later. There used to be a time when most business were like this. Solid pizza. Not the best I've ever had, but pretty damn good. My favorite is the Athenian, with feta cheese, eggplant, garlic, spinach, and tomatoes. Sounds weird, but it's delicious. I've only been here for take out so can't comment on the table service. There's always been an employee at the register when I walk in, and I can pay and get out the door within minutes. I've gotten some appetizers that were hit or miss - decent wings and fried mozzarella; the garlic bread is a pass for me. I'm guessing that the 1-star reviews have some personal gripes with Andover Pizza (mentioning another customer by name...huh?), and are not actually offering a legit review given their zero Yelp friends and a similar number of reviews. We pass by Andover Pizza nearly every day, but had never eaten here. Yesterday, after a long day on the road, my wife and I decided to stop for a late lunch. First off, I was surprised by the decor...I'd always assumed it was a total dive take-out joint, given the run-down tiny strip mall location. While it certainly isn't fancy, it is spacious, pleasant, and clean, with cool old photos of historic Andover on the walls. There is a separate bar/dining are and pool table in the other room. Being nearly 3:00, it was also very quiet, so it's no real surprise that we were greeted immediately. Our hostess/server was a very pleasant young woman who appeared to be the only person working at that hour. I'd guess they have more servers at dinner time. She took our drink orders while we perused the extensive but typical pizza-joint menu. Several salads, lots of grinders, specialty and build-your-own pizzas, and a pretty decent selection of entrees and apps. This is when it got interesting...we weren't there for pizza. We just wanted a couple of sandwiches. I had a hankering for a chicken parm grinder. While the menu listed meatball parm, eggplant parm, and veal parm, it only listed a "chicken cutlet" grinder. I asked if I could have it as a chicken parm grinder and was told yes. The server then didn't seem to have a clue what actually came on the grinder. "Does it come with peppers and onions?" We can do that, sure, assured the server. "With marinara sauce?" Oh, she said, you want sauce on it, too? Huh? Of course! Then she asked if i'd like cheese on it. Wait, what? What kind of PARM sandwich doesn't have cheese? She seemed a bit confused, but dutifully wrote down the details and repeated them back to me a couple of times, just to be sure. My wife went through a similar ordeal placing her sandwich order. We added a side of fries (nothing is included with our sandwiches) and were asked if we wanted those as an app or with our meal. We said with the meal but they came out well before the sandwiches anyway. That said, they were pretty much perfect fries, hot and crispy, and plenty to share. I should mention that all the while several people came and went picking up take out orders, and our server was also steadily answering the phone taking more orders. It was obviously busier in the kitchen than the two or three tables occupied in the dining room. It took another five or ten minutes to get our grinders while we tried not to fill up on the fries. When the grinders arrived, they had obviously been left in the oven just a bit too long. While certainly not burnt, they were very well "toasted" along the top. The server knew this and didn't wait for us to say anything -- she immediately asked if they were too crispy and if we wanted them redone (no, they were okay). Extra points for being attentive. Besides the slight over-toasting, the sandwiches were actually quite good, and large for half subs. There were plenty of grilled onions and peppers, lots of meat, could have used a bit more sauce. The server happily gave us a bowl of extra marinara. Neither of us could finish more than half of our half. While our server was a bit scattered, she was also very pleasant and reasonably attentive considering she appeared to be running the entire front end herself. Assuming the other offerings on the menu were at least at tasty (but hopefully not over-toasted) I'd say Andover Pizza was pretty good, not great, but much better than expected given the some of the other reviews. They pack 'em in at night and they've been there awhile and have even expanded, so despite the 1-star naysayers, they must be doing something right. It's no gourmet italian joint, but I'd certainly return. read more

I used to think highly of Andover pizza/ bar but I don't anymore after what I have experienced recently. The waitresses and bar tenders are wonderful yet the owner seems to be a very rude person who doesn't treat his employees with respect. While I was in the bar, the man who seemed to be the owner was disrespecting and yelling at the bar tender and it appeared that he had went and took money from her tip jar and then made some sort of rude and upseting comment. How upsetting that must have been to the poor girl. I have only been to the bar a few times before and tonight was my last. I get delivery or order out from here regularly. It's the only local pizza place. Their pizza is solid, not great but good, salads are great and service is good.The only problem I have is the amount of time it takes them to deliver. Sometimes 1-2 hours. This place is absolutely horrible. The new staff is disrespectful and the pizza is literally the worst around. If it were not the only restaurant in town they would certainly not stay in business. Even though the food was far from great at least the old staff was friendly and helpful. I will drive 15 minutes to get pizza for my family now before I will return to Andover pizza under its current management and wait staff. It is really sad. They renovated and made it into this gigantic empty bar room. Typically, there are a couple locals at the bar and the rest of the place is desolate. There was enough roast beef, but it was in a couple balls and needed to be spread around, and they didn't bother toasting it either like my wife asked.... This is the second time we had ordered from them. They are the only delivery place near us and we will never use them again. The first time was pizza and it was Sub Par. This time it was calzones and I can honestly say they were the worst calzones we have every had. How you can make a calzone without flavor at all is beyond me. My husband ordered chicken tenders in his and received grilled chicken and I ordered pineapple and Ham. He at least received Sauce to dip his in and I did not have that luxury as they forgot to include it. After the first bite I opened mine to see what was going on. all the Ham was piled on one side, the pineapple in the middle and all of the cheese on the other side. After redistributing the ingredients I had to add, garlic salt, Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes for it to be palatable and open a can of marinara out of my pantry. I am very disappointed in my take out last night. I ordered a BLT and I have never been served something revolting. Unpleasenly surprised the bacon itself has a different taste, like smoked or some sort of usual flavor that we did not like. What is way worse is that I was given a heaping sandwich of thick cut bacon fat. It was near raw and biting into that made me nauseas immediately...I just called the owner to give him the feedback as perhaps it is his staffs fault and not his but he was not in. I will update when (or if) I have heard back. The girl who I left a message with did call me back offering a free sandwich after she told the cook, which I declined. I really think the owner should see this for himself as I took a picture...also the reason I give 2 stars instead of 1 is I like there ham grinders, French onion soup and salads. The pizza is gross about 50% of the time and like a previous person commented, the food is not consistant. I have gotten different flavors of bacon and totally different fries there. Some times I get bread with a salad, some times I do not...Too bad my phone won't let me attach the b.l.t. picture, it's quite gross. read more
