We managed to get lost on our way to the David Hayes Sculpture Fields and were getting hungry on Labor Day. I spotted this pizzeria, pulled a u-turn and walked in hoping pizza by the slice was available. I happily discovered that there were several varieties offered including one of my margarita, one of my favorites. The pizza is thin, New Haven style without the brick oven, but still better than most. I did encounter a communication problem in that the pizza was not reheated before being boxed, but it still was very good. Unfortunately we live on the other side of the Connecticut River and do not frequent this area often so it is unlikely we will be back any time soon.

Chicken and broccoli over pasta with black chars all over. Added olive oil at home to make more appetizing

I expected more from a place thats so pricey (compared to other pizza places). Ive ordered food from here multiple times. The grinders ive recieved had bread that was dry snd fried chicken nearly overcooked with an obvious taste of burntness. I have also ordered pizza here on sunday night and recieved the "last customer screw you" treatment, the pizzas crust was very hard and the cheese tasted burnt. Before i moved, i had a pizza place i really liked where dinner combos where $12. This time i decided to order one of their dinner combos, chicken and broccoli pasta. What i got was dry pasta and chicken with black chars from the grill all over, furthermore i expected broccoli florets but the product used was packaged frozen broccoli (I can tell because ive worked in kitchens for years). It doesn't seem to me the cooks really care about the food (or cook at all really). A pasta dinner priced at $15 should have been much better. The menu is pretty pretentious for a place that uses mostly frozen products, ive realized now after giving this place multiple chances that the food is just garbage, and im not ordering from here anymore.

BTW - Turns out it's super close to Exit 68 off Route 84. So it shouldn't have taken me this long. I'd call Camille's pizza Modern Wood-Fired Thin Crust. I ordered one with pepperoni, sausage and fresh peppers as opposed to roasted ones (which is an option) for pickup. The restaurant was nice. If you're a Prince (the musician, not the one stripped of his title -- too soon?) fan you may love the purple hues. The crust was good chewy. I loved the pepperoni. They cupped and crisped, but in a slightly different visual way than many cup and crisp pepperoni. Very cool. Tasted great too. The fresh peppers ended up being red rather than green. This is a personal preference, but I prefer green. I like the flavor of the green juice better on a pizza. I also think the green color pops better since the sauce and pepperoni are both red. I liked the pizza, but I didn't love it. I couldn't figure out why at first. I think the primary reason was the sausage. It wasn't bad. I just didn't connect with the flavor. And also I prefer larger pieces, than the smaller crumbles Camille's used. If I had this pizza without the sausage, I would have liked it better. I do have a favorable impression of Camille's though. I would definitely return. 4.25 Stars

Their specialty pizzas are great and even a plain cheese pizza is great. The burgers and wraps are good. Love the salads too, especially with the grilled chicken added. This is a very rural area and I would not have expected to find a restaurant along this stretch of road. The building is a square, non-descript, single story set away from the street with parking along two sides. A few picnic tables sit near the parking area on a grassy area. The inside is neat, updated, includes several booths exactly as you would expect in your neighborhood pizza place. Besides pizza, this shop offers sandwiches, lasagna, bottled or canned soft drinks, ice cream dessert items, cookies, and cake for example. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice. We grabbed our drinks from the cooler, paid and chose a booth. Some local art hangs on the wall, but it doesn't say if it's for sale or from a local club for example. Just 'Local Art.' Most of the booths were occupied when we arrived, and several phone orders were placed during our visit, so clearly this spot is popular. Some folks came in for a soda and slice of pie, others called in large orders. A blackboard wall lists available ice cream flavors and prices on cones, bowls, shakes, and more. Laminated menus are on the counter near the cash register and their web site. The website also offers an 'allergy' menu. The food didn't come flying out of the kitchen, but we didn't wait an unreasonable amount of time either. Some of the tables already seated when we arrived were also waiting for food and it looked like this was a two person operation. The food was brought to the table when ready (aka: they didn't call our name or a number) which I appreciate. Napkins, salt and pepper are on the table. Plastic utensils, red pepper flakes and other items you may need are on a table near the counter for you to grab if wanted. Everyone bussed their own table, so we followed suit. The sandwiches were well made, stuffed with lots of meat and plenty of add ins. Their 'build you own' grinder menu has a variety of meats, cheeses, and vegetables. The pizzas looked and smelled good. I wasn't in a pizza mood, but I wish I had bought a slice to try, although the sandwich was so big I barely finished it. No room for pizza. Also wish I'd bought a slice of that rainbow cake, but we were on the road without a cooler, so no cake for me. Sigh. This is a really nice little restaurant in the 'middle of nowhere.' It's clearly popular with locals and I understand why. Good service, good food, clean establishment. They do a fine job. A very nice local pizza place.

"I love the flower girl Oh, I don't know just why…read moreShe simply caught my eye I love the flower girl she seemed so sweet and kind. She crept into my mind." (The Cowsills) Visiting the Flour Girl Café and Bakery will put you squarely in the middle of a Flour Girl Village with four distinct components. Within the village is the Flour Girl Café at 16 Main, the Flour Girl Bakery at 14 Main, the Flour Girl Country Store at 12 Main, and the Door Yard in a rear courtyard for dining and hosting events between the bakery and country store. Today we had breakfast at the Café and followed it up with a visit to the bakery. A common thread at both stops was the wonderful personality and friendliness of the staff we interacted with. The counterperson at the Café could not have been nicer and her personality radiated throughout the room like a beam of sunshine. She welcomed every new customer as though they were long lost relatives, exchanged some pleasant small talk and then diligently repeated the orders before ringing them up. She was fantastic. The café keeps things humming all week long--open Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 4:00, Saturdays from 7:30 to 4:00, and Sundays from 7:30 to 3:00. Flour Girl Café covers you from breakfast through lunch. Mornings bring all the good stuff: coffees and lattes, smoothies, egg sandwiches, bagels, wraps, waffles, toasts--you get the idea. Swing by at lunchtime and you'll find sandwiches, paninis, salads, burgers and soups waiting for you. Oh, and as a bonus perk, the bread for sandwiches and burgers is made at the bakery next door, so freshness is something the Flour Girl takes seriously. For breakfast, we had a Bacon, Egg, Lettuce, Tomato, and Cheese Bagel ($7.99) and an Avocado Toast (2 pieces) with Feta and tomato ($9.99), Two 16-ounce drip coffees were $3.50 apiece. The portions were large, and my avocado toast on sourdough was fantastic. We sat in the first-floor dining room and took in the pretty interior design of pinks, pastels, and floral color theme. Now, on to the bakery! The Flour Girl Bakery may be best known for its sourdough breads, but the fun doesn't stop there. You'll also find muffins, cookies, scones, their award winning cinnamon rolls, and a rotating lineup of fresh baked breads. And those cinnamon rolls? They spark a full on weekend rush--people happily line up just to snag one before they disappear. We picked up a box of mixed goods, muffins, cake squares, and a big hunk of jalapeno cornbread that will go perfectly with a homemade batch of lentil chili sitting in my fridge. We saw an adorable feature at the bakery, where plastic eggs were hidden within the store for the kiddies to find and cash in for a cookie. It's the little customer service features we saw at the Flour Girl's Café, Bakery, and Country Store that made today's visit so pleasant.

I think there may be a small sign but i heard it several times during my visit - people asking for breakfast! Might be something to reconsider or place a visible sign underlining breakfast stops at 11:30 AM. Anyhow, pivoted to the lunch menu - pesto chicken sandwich was delicious. Did not love the pasta salad, wish there was the option for fry's. Really wanted the thanksgiving wrap but was out of stuck - next time hopefully! I will say - while there are many options for seating, especially with the new accommodation, it's tight. Chairs back into aisles and the table legs don't allow chairs to be pushed in that well. Entrance area can feel a bit overwhelming if it's busy. Staff super friendly and knowledgeable, will continue to come back.
