    A go-to pizza takeout joint for the locals. The grinders are really good, always filled with meat. The pizza is better at Dimitri's in town but if you're not wanting to drive up to N Coventry this place will do! Calzones are good too.

    I asked what the dessert in the cooler was right by the door and was told it was Tres leches cake. After expressing my love for Tres leches, and being told by the staff that their Tres leches was amazing I decided to give it a go. At almost 6 dollars, it appears like a giant blob of whipped cream with strawberries. After walking out to my truck and realizing this and then walking back in to show it to the young man that packaged it for me, I was told "hey I'm sorry it's a little messy I know, but that it is what it is." Needless to say I walked out with whip cream and strawberries with a very small sliver of cake underneath it. Quite frankly, I will not be able to give a review based on taste because this blob found its way straight to the trash. I guess it is what it is, I'll never be back to Coventry Pizza Shop.

    We were traveling thru Connecticut and stop to eat pizza. We had the #14 Meat Lovers and it was great. We would eat there again.

    Great food and always consistent. Salads and pasta are great. Baklava is also a great dessert.

    Pretty dang good food got the for cheese pizza and I have to say despite new owners Coventry pizza is still a charm

Decided to make a lunch trek, and see if they were any good. Coming in, there's a single person manning the helm. We thumb through the menu then flag them down to order. We get a smattering of slices, the loaded fries and the steak and cheese egg rolls. We were not sure where the blackened pizza slice came from on the kitchen floor, but we ignored it and opted to eat to go. Food came out reasonably quick. Took our pics then swapped bites. The egg rolls were as described. Steak and cheese in a wonton fried. Very one note, crispy and greasy with only a weak cheese sauce flavor. Not bad, but basic. The fries were very much college dorm nachos style. They had a thin coat of cheese over matchstick fries with toppings that fell through to the bottom. The cheese solidified quickly which welded the fries together into a giant clump. Not great, but if it's late at night and you're drunk they do scratch that greasy horribleness itch one can get. The pizza had a good crust, but the sauce and cheese were lackluster. The dough was fresh and cooked through, but the sauce was weak and no tomato flavor and the cheese was non-existent. The toppings on the specialty pizza's were pretty good, they just had a horrible base to work off of. As one of the few options for pizza in that area, you would be remiss to find much better pizza around. It's not great, but it is functional.

LOL Tony's is a Greek Style, neighborhood pizza spot. I ordered a large red pizza with "Grinder Meatball", peppers and onions when I was about 15 minutes out. I arrived. I took some pics from the parking lot, and by the time I walked inside, they had just pulled my pizza out of the oven and boxed it. The transaction was easy since I had paid online. If you order this Grinder Meatball topping, which seems to be somewhat of a signature, DO NOT, freak out when you open the box and don't see meatballs. The onions and peppers are on top of the cheese. And they mix up the thin sliced meatballs with the sauce, and put them under the cheese. Given how they work the Grinder Meatball topping, my comments may not apply to all of Tony's Pizzas. First of all, I like this style of thin cut , almost wiry, white onion and green peppers. Good appearance. Good flavor. The crust was medium thick and pan-crisped. Fairly standard Greek Style crust. Also, I liked the cheese, but it could have been a bit more well done for my tastes. It was well melted. But there was minimal marbling on top, which I like. I liked the meatball topping and Tony's gave you a lot of meatball pieces. Here's the only thing I didn't love about this pizza. Because the meatball slices were mixed into the sauce and they were so generous with the meatballs, the flavor of the sauce got lost. I couldn't tell if the sauce was average, good or very good. It just wasn't noticeable in relation to the meatball flavor. I would recommend asking for a side of sauce and dip pizza into the sauce, or maybe add extra sauce to the pizza. I think the crust would hold up to that. This probably wouldn't be an issue if you got a cheese pizza or a pepperoni pizza. Tony's has a bunch of inside seating. I suspect families eat hear regularly. I was there early. So I'm not sure how busy it gets. If I lived in the area, I could see regularly ordering from Tony's. I bet they have good meatball grinders too. 4.25 Stars
