Obviously Aetna sucks, but I never should have been told it would be a total of $60 for my visit. I should have been told it was a $60 upfront fee, but there may be a further payment required. I called and was told I should have read the entire, long contract I was handed when I arrived for my visit. It said that I was responsible for any additional costs after my insurance provider processed the bill. I *had* read that, and *had* asked the question of "how much will I actually have to pay, worst case scenario" specifically because I had read that and was worried. I was assured $60 would be all I owe. So I signed it. Probably a moment of weakness on my part, shame on me for trusting this practice. I'm now legally on the hook for $330 for a session that only led to "you need an endoscopy", when I was assured by an employee of Digestive Health Associates that I would only owe my deductible of $60. On paper DHA can claim no misleading practices (unless I had thought to record my conversation with the receptionist). So can Aetna. But no party in this supposed "healthcare" industry cared at all about me, and for that, I recommend looking elsewhere for a more ethical & caring practice.

When I went there, she always saw me right away, compared to other doctors offices where you're waiting in the exam room for a while until your doctor actually comes in. She also seemed nice and always took the time to answer any questions I had. But one thing that bothered me a lot was how they would reschedule me for almost every appointment I made, because she was also a midwife. Being a midwife, being rescheduled is reasonable; things come up and she's suddenly needed. But when they would reschedule me, it wouldn't be for another month or so. When they had to reschedule me, I don't know why they couldn't try to reschedule me closer to my original appointment, or maybe offer to put me with another doctor for the next appointment if she was too busy. After doing that for a few years, I decided to no longer be a patient because of how often I got rescheduled. Once they even called to cancel my appointment when I was only a few minutes away. It was worse for me because I didn't live around the area, so it was also a significant commute. I specifically saw this doctor because I liked her and the staff when I used to live around the area. But I decided the hassle wasn't worth it. If you don't mind getting rescheduled, or if you live around the area, it might not be as bad if your appointment gets canceled. I don't know the other doctors there, but having a different doctor might also give you a better experience.

She does all the adjustments I ask for every time I go in (from my jaw to my toes) and always leaves me feeling better. She understands that I have a limited number of appointments allowed by my insurance, and doesn't push me to come more often than I can afford. She's kind, personable, and interested in my overall well-being. She's also a nutritionist, and is open to any and all of my questions! She makes suggestions of things I can try to help heal my other ailments. She offers high-quality supplements at reasonable prices. One time, I took a supplement and had a weird reaction to it. Dr. Sullivan asked me to bring the bottle back in so she could take them herself and see if it happened to her, too. She not only gave me a full refund, but was willing to risk having the same reaction herself to make sure it was just a fluke and not something wrong with the supplements. Take my word for it...she really cares. (Turns out it was me...not the supplements. Go figure.) Her office is always offering freebies, including raffles and free chair massages! They participate in fundraising events for cancer research and donate to local charities. The other chiropractors that work with Dr. Sullivan are exceptional, as well! Her office staff is friendly and knowledgeable. No matter who I talk to in that office, I know I'm going to be taken care of. Everyone at Main Street Chiropractic truly cares about their patients.
