I chose a 90 minute massage which might sound excessive but I'm so glad I went with the 90 minute and not 30 or 60. Michelle did an amazing job on a full body massage, with extra attention to my aching back. She was very good about checking in with me to make sure that the pressure was ok. And she gave a fantastic food massage with peppermint lemon lotion too! They use coconut oil which is great for the skin. Brittany knew exactly what to do- she couldn't work directly on the area because of the pain, so she worked in many other areas around my body (arm, ankle, leg, back of neck, shoulder, tricep) that would affect the painful area. She also did gua sha on my tricep & shoulder area. She knew the blocked area was more than just the hand. I couldn't believe it. I left pain free! I originally went to see Marisa for extreme anxiety and ongoing sleep issues, after trying what felt like every modality out there: somatic exercises, journaling, therapy, BIT, meditation, breath-work...you name it. While many of those helped in their own ways, nothing truly moved the needle for me the way hypnoacupuncture with Marisa has. From my very first session, there was an obvious shift. Even the people around me noticed. After that first session, the tension in my shoulders decreased, and the only way I can describe it is that everything (physically & mentally) felt like it had been taken down a notch. Since working with her, my sleep has completely transformed. I went from having an extremely hard time falling asleep and waking up almost every hour, to now pretty much sleeping through the night. If I do wake up, I can fall back asleep easily, and I'm even dreaming a lot which I take as a sign I'm finally getting deep, restful sleep.
