Although I have moved to Daytona Beach to attend Palmer College, I travel to Juno Beach at least once every quarter to have my hair cut, high-lighted, and styled by Jodie Wilkins. Jodie has been my stylist through long hair and, now, short hair and a various range of colors. I recently made the mistake of trying to find someone in my local Daytona Beach area and had to take an emergency trip to Jodie [three hours away!] to fix it! I will never make that mistake again. ;D I love how Jodie can cut my hair so that it looks great even when it grows out. I get compliments on my hair even weeks after my visit. She also did my sister's hair for her wedding and all of the bridesmaids, myself included. It was a beach wedding and the products Jodie used in our hair made our hair stay despite the windy beach. I saw all of the reviews on yelp and the before and after pics, on her website, so I booked a consultation with Veronica. She is highly educated and experienced and walked me through the processes my hair needed to get good color. She was thorough and gave me a time and cost quote as well. Super professional! Two weeks later I went back, and spent 5 hours there for corrective color. I think the results speak for themselves! I couldn't be happier, she is worth every penny. Highly recommend.

The experience was disappointing. The staff did not make the visit feel fun or welcoming for the children, which took away from what should have been a special experience. The "fairy hair" application itself was problematic. The girls complained that the application was painful. Only one wrap was used, and each strand appeared to be attached to very few hairs. By the next day, roughly half of the strands had fallen out. When we raised this concern, the staff member responded dismissively and blamed my niece rather than offering to fix or replace the fairy hair. Given our prior experience with fairy hair from other stylists, where it typically lasts well over a month, we were surprised and disappointed that this application did not last even a full day. At $5 per strand, we expected a more durable result and a more professional response to concerns. Based on this experience, we would not return.

I had a consultation and during that consultation I got a hand written estimate of the total price out the door being $1457.35 for everything done. I agreed and set up an appointment with Erika and gave them a $500.00 deposit. During the appointment my hair is already being colored and then they tell me "oops! It's actually gonna be a higher price than what was told to me during my consultation." That's wrong. They will tell you a price just to get you to sit in their chair, then once you are trapped there and already getting worked on then they bring the bad news. The news that they lied. I would have been more than happy to pay the higher price; had that been discussed during my consultation. It's not about the money, it's the principle. Once you tell someone a price and it is agreed upon, you need to honor that agreement. I hope this never happens to anyone else, please please two nine salon, get your estimates correct during consultations and makes sure your employees are trained on prices. After all that, they did refund me my $500.00 deposit and I did not have to pay for what they had started as far a coloring. & they lost a $2000.00+ sale/client.

I don't have extra money to spend on beautifying (or attempting to beautify, ha ha) myself. Two friends of mine kept complaining about the red (brassy) color in my hair, so I decided to have a pro deal with it. Salons are usually too expensive, and Madison is a good option to get something between an upscale private stylist and a box from CVS. It turned out I had to keep some red as blond won't cover my greys, but at least I know that now, and they do a better job using mixed colors. I blow dry my own hair there and they have brushes and sprays and styling creams. It's kind of fun! Oh -- one thing I don't like. They are pushy about trying to get you to do a membership. That's good for people who plan to go regularly, but I'm not one of those people. This recent time my hair color person signed me up for the membership without asking, so that I could get the special $30 off. At payment time I said no, I'll pay the $30. I don't want them withdrawing money every month -- and it's not a small sum! So just be careful to consider if it's worth it for you to join their program. I prefer not to.

Three months before my wedding day I asked her to please hire another artist since I had a large wedding party and didn't want to start so early in the morning. This situation dragged on until the week before my wedding since my texts would be ignored when I asked if she had found another artist. I finally told my wedding planner that I was frustrated trying to get everything finalized and that Katie wouldn't respond back to me, so my planner took matters into her own hands. Katie responded back to my planner in a day :( Then my planner asked her the week before the wedding for her hair/makeup timeline. Katie had the arrival time for her artists at 7:15am (she had told me with adding on the extra artist we could start at 8am) but her own arrival time of 10:15am. My planner spoke to her again and the schedule was adjusted to an 8am start time since my planner noted multiple errors in the schedule. When I interviewed katie she stated that she "never does more than one wedding in a day" which I thought was great and a reason I moved forward with her. She ended up arriving at our house 45 minutes late at 11am instead of 10:15am. She then started my makeup 15 minutes later after she set up. You can imagine the stress this caused me knowing that we had to leave soon to my venue. Apparently, she was late because she was doing another bride's makeup/hair that morning. This was unfair to me. We had a timeline to stick to and she really didn't seem to care. It was because of her that we ended up running an hour late which resulted in us not having enough time for some family photos that we had planned for. If you want your wedding day to run smoothly, I would recommend that you hire someone else.
