My wife and I did both our engagement shoot and our wedding photos with Andre. We loved both shoots! He was flexible with the location for our engagement shoot and drove all the way to Palm Dessert to get the backdrop we wanted. Andre is really easy to work with and definitely knows what he is doing. He is good at giving instructions on how to frame each photo and makes you feel comfortable and relaxed in the process of posing for each picture. Andre also has a great eye for setting up each shot too, almost like he is a magazine photographer who shoots weddings. He got our pictures to us in a timely manner after the wedding as well so we could relive the amazing day pretty quickly after we got back from our honeymoon. Oh and one really cool thing he did, during the cocktail hour between our ceremony and reception, he had already edited a handful of photos from the ceremony and had them on a slide show on a computer monitor for people to see. The quality of his pictures is amazing - for that I'm happy I used him. However, I also had issues with his personality. The goods: he captured the ceremony better than most photographers I've seen. He was barely noticeable during the ceremony. The ones of my husband and me are incredible, and I think he hit perfectly how beautiful and happy we felt that day. One thing I did like he remembers to give you a chance to relax your face. You know how after you smile too long for photos, they don't look real anymore? He would build mini-breaks and really helped us feel relaxed and natural for the posed part of the shoot. He did include bonuses, like during the reception, he actually set up a laptop with some of the ceremony shots uploaded already playing a slide show. People loved it! The frustrating: His attitude did bother me. I have a couple of guests who were there STILL joking about the "arrogant photographer" at my wedding (and it's been a couple of years). When I look at my photos now, I feel that there are too many posed portraits and not enough of the guests having fun at the wedding, even though I told him it was really important to me to capture people who came to celebrate with us. Also - this guy rarely answers emails! Even if you write to ask questions. Yes - I recommend him for the quality of his pictures, but only if you're willing to deal with attitude. If you want certain pictures, you need to be the sort to be able to tell him on the day of. I wasn't - I just went with the flow and let him dictate to me, and I wish I had clarified with him much more what I had wanted. read more

We don't have a picture in our home that isn't taken by Andre! From our engagement and wedding photos to family photos, to the birth of our two (soon to be three) children...Andre has been there to capture all of our special moments in life. His pictures are absolutely gorgeous and people are constantly asking who took our pictures when they see them on our wall! Engagement photos: I love that he is willing (and excited) to go where ever you think will be fun to take pictures. We live in Orange County but took our pictures on Melrose and in the gardens of the Getty Museum in LA. I am not the most photogenic person...but he made me look fantastic. He captures TRUE moments that you want to remember. He reminds you to relax (even buys you a drink if need be!) and have fun. Wedding photos: He was incredibly patient with me because I had given him a pretty lengthy list of the pictures I wanted to have...close to three pages. The day of, his assistant had it on hand and was checking them off as we took them. I had also given a list of pictures to my bridesmaids so they could help corral people...we had a ton of family and a huge wedding party and he captured it all! He got pictures of details that I truly appreciate. The flowers, programs, cake, our toasting flutes, etc...all those details that you slave over for months and months and then forget about even a year later. We had posed, we had candids, we had fun and creative shots too! My favorite part of working with him on the wedding day is that he captured the memories of the day without being a part of the moment. My biggest pet peeve at weddings is when you see the photographer capturing the ceremony and it becomes distracting to the ceremony. I think Andre is a photo ninja...because you never see him, but you see where he has been only after he was there through the pictures he captures. Birthing Photos: This was my husband's and Andre's idea to capture the birth of my first child. I have to say I was not initially very excited about a professional camera around for one of my most vulnerable moments. (Not even my mother was allowed in while I was giving birth) I AM SO GLAD HE WAS THERE TO CAPTURE THIS MOMENT!!! Again he was able to capture the moment without being a part of the moment at all. Like my wedding, I had input that he was happy to listen to. He not only had the pictures for us quickly from the birth, but he created a video that makes me cry every time I watch it. He got the moment when we first saw our daughter, the tears in my husbands eyes, the joy and excitement of my husband telling our parents that she had arrived. It felt like he thought of everything! Andre's sensitivity and thoughtfulness in this special moment made his presence peaceful and calming. Family Photos: We have had him come to our home to take pictures of our family and his eye to make simple areas look special is a gift! He is quick and effective which is a huge plus when dealing with babies and young children. We also had him come out for my mother-in-law's 60th birthday to get the extended family shots which turned out just beautiful and was a fun gift to give to her! I hired Andre for my wedding photos in Hawaii, and the entire process from beginning to end was fantastically seamless - he is not only the most artistic photographer I have ever worked with (and I am not only speaking from the point of view of a bride, I am also a wedding coordinator/planner in Hawaii), Andre also runs a very well managed business. You get what you pay for, and I recommend him fully to any and all friends/family/clients. For the individual below who commented on Andre's "attitude" - I highly disagree and must voice my opinion regarding your comments. I did not hire Andre to be a friend, confidante, nor a psychologist on my big day - I hired him to be my photographer (and actually had so much trust in his work I chose to not hire a videographer) to capture every moment as beautifully as possible and he delivered above and beyond any expectation I could have anticipated. I must also point out that if there were certain shots that you wanted specifically, you should always give a photographer a shot list of things to look out for. At our wedding, Andre made the photography portion of our post-ceremony shots effortless - I have been in several weddings and planned numerous events, and the photography portion is always the "issue" - it either takes too long, is too "acted out", etc. That was not the case with Andre. He may be direct with situating some of the photos - but BLESS HIS HEART... imagine trying to coordinate and move around up to 20 different people that are ready to get a celebration/reception started...!!! I had 8 bridesmaids, 8 groomsmen, 9 family members, etc... all being herded by one photographer - I was 100% supportive of him taking a stance and politely giving direction to the group. Andre is also very skilled at capturing every moment (even rode a trolley with our wedding party through Waikiki and later to a nightclub for our after-after-after party) and was there for literally every hysterical, random, out of nowhere event that took place... all caught on film for us to go back to and reminisce on for years to come. Andre is superb - he is practically invisible on your big day, yet you have photos from all angles... I remember thinking "where is our photographer" and when I got the photos somehow our ceremony had shots closeup, from a roof, from the right end and the left side.... that is a true phenomenal photographer (in my opinion). Not to mention that Andre somehow turned my husband and I into supermodels when we got our photos back!!!! I plan on hiring Andre for all of my important occasions... he did our engagement photos (which were stunning), our wedding photos (which made several magazines and newspapers locally here), and hopefully he will be doing our pregnancy shots and baby shots in the upcoming years! Andre is AMAZING. He is super talented, has great energy and an unbelievably eye for that which is stunning. His pictures speak for themselves. I was very disappointed with my experience with Andre. He takes great pictures for the most part, but his personality is frustrating to deal with. He is very uncommunicative, taking forever to response to simple emails even though he has an iPhone. This lack of communication even extends even to the week of the wedding, where you're not even sure what he is doing. He gives off this arrogant attitude, making you feel like you're never important enough to warrant his attention. He doesn't brief you in advance on what he will be doing; I feel like he needs a system in place for making sure the bride is on the same page. At points, it makes him very thoughtless. For example, never did he tell me that he would bring an assistant to help him on the wedding day. It is presumptuous to bring an extra person without telling the bride, especially when it means extra costs (luckily, we had space). In addition, this guy also makes verbal promises he can't keep. For example, he promised he would send us our wedding photos by a certain date, but he didn't keep his word. When we would ask where our photos were, he would say that he still hadn't sent them. I would understand if he had warned us in advance that he is falling behind schedule, but we would just sit there waiting and waiting unsure when we would ever receive them. He needs constant reminders to get stuff done. Many of his photos are beautiful, and I would give him five stars for that. But I feel like I have to point out some limitations with his photos. I have plenty of photos with the wedding party, but I have few pictures of my guests, especially relatives. He gets great photos of people dancing, but not everyone dances, especially old people. He will tell you to grab people you want to get photos of, but when you're the bride and groom, you don't have time for that. I wish he had just gone around and taken photos of people just relaxing and having a good time who weren't dancing. I completely lack photos of one side of my family. I loved all of my vendors at my wedding except for Andre. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't go with him again. Wedding planning is stressful, and this guy only adds to that. When you're paying a lot for a photographer, it isn't worth it. But if you're willing to put up with such frustrations for beautiful photos, then by all means go with him. My now husband and I hired Andre for our wedding and engagement shoot. From the beginning he was a true professional! He was energetic, efficient, inventive, and had an amazing eye for capturing the most amazing moments. Throughout the whole process he made us feel extremely comfortable which is priceless because weddings can be a bit stressful at times!!! I remember from our engagement shoot he had us pose in different ways, change our expressions you name it! And when we got our pictures back we could see why. He captured loveable moments, laughs, serious, and the traditional smiles all in seconds. It was remarkable to have so many different levels and layers of pictures!!! And because we had countless options it was hard to even choose a save the date card or which ones we wanted to frame!! And if that doesn't impress you then it gets even better on our wedding day. He was prompt as always, professional, quick and I swear everyone in the wedding fell in love with him because he was "amazing" as they all said. A few of my friends said they were obsessed and had to have them for their wedding! And they complemented us on choosing him, which we gladly took credit for! Lol. At the wedding he worked well with the bridal party and everyone he worked with was comfortable and happy. He got every picture we wanted and then some. He was quick and made sure not to block anyone's view at the ceremony or at the wedding. He helped with the wedding planner on the layout of the first dance cake etc. so the best picture possible could be captured. Andre also surprised us at dinner by setting up a screen at our sweetheart table from pictures from the day's events for us to watch at while we were having dinner. IT was truly amazing!!! He also brought up a screen on the dance floor where our guests later watched while dancing!!! It was such a classy touch, and just another thoughtful thing he did! We just got a delivery from him today! Hand delivered in a beautiful box nicely wrapped of our pictures, a book with 2 CD with our picture printed on them and two separately wrapped boxes of beautiful 4x6 pictures with black frames around them!!! It was so pretty I didn't even want to touch as first! The pictures were so fun to look through and I know we are going to have a tough time deciding which ones were our favorite as with Andre you get nothing but the best! As a bride, It is one thing to think you searched and searched and have the best photographer beforehand, but it is another when people gather around a laptop at your wedding and are oohing and aweing viewing a display of amazing photos captured just w/i the 2 hours before.. Perfectly captured emotion, real people in vibrant color and black and white (even the guys were into it).. Everyone was saying these were the best photos they had ever seen. It was nice to be laid back and trust based upon his prior work but he also was open to an on the spot recommendation for a shot location that turned into additional really great photos. I almost didn't even notice he was there except that he would check in periodically to ask if there was a capture you wanted and then advised the plan for the next hour or so. Andre did our engagement photos and he did our wedding photos. I was very unhappy with the photos from both. We continued to use him for the wedding because the downpayment was already paid and it was really close to our wedding date. I found Andre to be very arrogant and unkind. He kept telling me (the bride) not to smile for the photos. He has a very artistic style that is very different than what I was looking for; I should have paid attention to that. He also told me and my husband not to kiss for any of the photos, he did this for our engagement photos and our wedding photos. I did not want photos of us making out but a picture of a sweet kiss on your wedding day would be nice. After a few cocktails on my wedding day, I told Andre that I wanted him to take pictures of me with a smile on my face and a couple pictures of my husband and I sharing a kiss.(I have video footage of me telling him this) I wish I would have had the courage to speak up sooner. The photo of our first kiss is only from our collarbones up. You can see the sky in the majority of the picture. The pictures are very dark and blurry. He did not do anything that someone else with the same camera could not do. He is overpriced and I found him to be unfriendly. I got married over a year ago and I waited to post this until I was calm enough to not say anything I would regret. Andre was our wedding photographer and I would highly recommend him! He is beyond talented and extremely professional. He is very creative and will perfectly capture the special moments of your day; he even recommended locations for photos between the wedding ceremony and our reception. All of our pictures were fantastic!! He really knows how to work with people to get flattering angles and is a genius with lighting. During the reception, he also had an iPad displaying some of our photos taken throughout the day. It was such a special touch, a big hit with our guests, and nice to see a preview of our pictures!! I have received many compliments on our wedding photos and our gorgeous wedding album. The leather-bound wedding album he creates is unlike any I have seen. We had numerous photos from the wedding printed on canvas displayed in our home and I love coming home each day to see them.
