To this day my wedding guests remember him. Not in a good way. He was so very, very rude to myself and my guests on my wedding day. He seemed to think that this was *his* day, on *his* schedule. During the group photo, he referred to my guests by such names as "fat man" and "leather jacket." I could not believe how disrespectful and arrogant he was. He got impatient when everybody didn't move exactly where he thought they should be. At one point I needed to talk to the caterer, and he was telling me to get off the phone. I got several photos where I was on the phone, confirming the food delivery. Sorry if it's not on your schedule! For the couples photos of my husband and I, he had us go down to the dirty bathroom on the beach. He insisted we take photos there, even though there was flies everywhere and they were making my husband uncomfortable. He only took 4 photos of my bouquet. The bouquet itself was beautiful, but the photos were all the same location and angle, and not a single one turned out right. As a result, I have no decent photos of my bridal bouquet. That makes me saddest of all. At the reception, he dragged me outside to take a bunch of "spontaneous" awkward photos with some of my husband's work friends, but he demanded they be taken at the exact moment my Grandfather was leaving, so I missed saying goodbye to him. The last straw was that he took almost no photos of the reception area, and no candid guests photos. I had asked him to take some before he began eating. As soon as he decided he was done, he ate, then left 3 hours early. Two months after this ordeal, I received a CD with the photos on it. There was not a single usable photo out of all of them. I spent 1/4 of the wedding budget on this guy, and have nothing to show for it. Wish I hadn't wasted my money. He didn't white balance a single thing, so the background is washed out & white, my makeup looks streaky and terrible, and the photos all just turned out really ugly. When I show his photos to other people, they are shocked at how bad they turned out. I also had 2 amateur photographers taking candid photos at the wedding. Erik was extremely rude to them, telling them to stop taking photos even after I told him I wanted them to take photos also. He was probably jealous/nervous. I'm so glad I had them there, because at least I have some decent photos of the wedding. My little sister took better photos, and she was a college student at the time! Be warned: DO NOT HIRE!!!!!

He went out of his way to find unique locations and backdrops for us to take our photos at and even helped us loosen up a bit with some pre-shoot libations! Gary's experience with Indian weddings was also extremely valuable for our mixed Indian-Western wedding. He was able to explain many circumstances that we could expect to help us plan accordingly. Some of the most memorable (yet critical) moments we had with Gary were outlining our minute-by-minute timeline - which he did so meticulously alongside our wedding planner. We also can't thank him enough for problem-solving when we needed it (i.e. if we forgot certain elements that needed to be in the photos/part of the look, he was on top of it directing helpers to do XYZ). We also noticed how by the actual wedding day, many of our guests knew Gary by name and were singing praises of the way he could keep order and help us very efficiently take so many photos. It can be tough with a 250 guest count AND a large Indian family :) To us, Gary felt like a friend. He knew when we were pushing our breaking point and needed a break, he knew how to make poses fun/relatable, and he sent us the sweetest letter once our photos were ready. And the photos turned out INCREDIBLE. So many beautiful moments captured that had us tearing up and such a wonderful photography style. I had no idea what I was missing out on until I came to her in-home studio for my LO's (at 6 days old) photos. It was incredible. I wish this dreamy, artistic newborn photography was around when my oldest was born! Holly and her partner Sue are just two of the kindest, gentlest women I've met. While they were working with my baby girl they just took their time, never even getting frustrated after she got yucky newborn poo all over them! They were so dang nice about it! They are both naturals and really have a gift for photography. They really take their time to get each position/setting just right and the outcome is amazing. I wanted to cry when I saw the pictures. My baby was red (yes red!) when she was born and Holly was able to make her look beautiful and angelic. Just a couple of things to know...One, be prepared to be giddy during the shoot. Seriously, it's so fun and an experience you'll never forget! Her studio is so cute and the amount of props she has and uses is awesome. It is completely stress free as Holly handles everything! You're honestly just there to feed the baby when needed. And two, dress lightly! The room needs to be warm so the baby is comfortable but that makes mamma hot! Holly and Sue are freaking rock stars for what they do! If you want okay photos find someone else. If you want amazing photos you'll die over, go to Holly. It will be worth every single darn penny.

Holly was extremely communicative and allows you to give her direction while still maintaining her signature style. I fell in love with all of her gorgeous sets, I had a hard time narrowing them down! She was very patient with my LO and only schedules 1 first birthday session a day. She will take as many or as little photos as your LO has energy for and works around your LO schedule. We spent almost 2.5 hours taking photos and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. Although she is not the cheapest, her stunning sets and attention to detail capture the most gorgeous photos! I highly recommend Holly Heine and will be using her for future photo sessions.

Rick and Kristina were very easy to work with and gave me great direction - this was especially helpful because I'm not a model and really needed to be told what to do and I'm not very comfortable in front of the camera. I would definitely recommend Studio NW to family and friends for studio photography - they have reasonable pricing and quality results.

Making the appointment was quickly handled over the phone and the studio had evening hours which accommodated my work schedule. The studio was convenient and easy to find and there was plenty of parking right in front. The studio was large and clean and I was greeted by the photographer Rick who was wonderful to work with. I am very particular about my own pictures and Rick took the extra time to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. I wanted my pictures on the same night and he allowed me to have every picture he took. The quality of the pictures was the best I've ever received and I've had pictures taken by quite a number of photographers in and around Portland. Rick does outstanding work and I highly recommend him to anyone. He is probably not the cheapest around but he is nowhere close to the most expensive either and I think the prices are very reasonable when you consider you receive all of the pictures and not just a couple.
