This place has been around for awhile and I have finally gotten around to giving it a review. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is a bit old, but I have a lot of fond memories of eating here with friends, family and relatives.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] From breakfast, lunch and dinner you will not be disappointed in the food choices and the quality of their food. The owners and staff are very polite and friendly. I always order silogs, adobo or the well known Filipino dishes - Mechado, Sinigang, Nilaga or dinuguan. All are great tasting with garlic fries rice or plain rice. Please give this place a chance!

Sweet and Sour Succulent Humba, Mouth-watering Pinoy-style Chicken Curry, Crispy Dilis, Crunchy Sisig, Dinuguan all smack! Highly recommend this hole in the wall in V-Town. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance felt like it was going to be good-and it was! Exceeded our expectations![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thank you. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I felt like I was teleported back to the P.I.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

3 Star Restaurant probably has some of the best, tastiest Chinese food in Vallejo. It also has…read moreFilipino dishes but we've focused on Chinese. It's a small, strip mall restaurant with plenty of parking. The decor is unique with the owner's love of Lego! Her creations are displayed everywhere in the restaurant. Every time we come in, tables are pretty full. They need more wait staff to handle the crowd. Peak weekend hours like Friday evenings are crazy busy for takeout. They are so popular sometimes their phone is turned off in order to handle the orders. So for takeout during those times, you have to go in person, wait in a long line the length of the restaurant to place an order, then find a seat or wait outside for up to an hour. Meanwhile the tables are full of customers dining. Why do people go through with this when you see other restaurants in the area empty at dinner hours? The food is good and worth the wait. We try to plan our eat-in dining at 3 Star outside of the crowded times, even coming from as far as Fairfield. Dad loves the Beef with Bitter Melon, his favorite dish that Mom used to cook. I don't think we've had a bad dish here, so order whatever you like. OK, the Tomato Beef Pan-fried Noodles is too tomato-saucy red and sugary sweet. My favorite is the Seafood Pan-fried Noodles. Their Chinese Mushrooms with Chinese Vegetables is also good, but they only have bok choy and Dad likes gai lan / Chinese broccoli. The Garlic Sauce Chicken Wings are spicy and really tasty. Next time we'll try their Garlic Chicken Wings since they look so good in photos. 3 Star's super nice owner is very sweet to 94-year old Dad, and treats him very special. Once she even gave us an extra order that a customer said was wrong because she was allergic to shrimp. She also gives us the deep fried Chinese sesame balls for dessert. Maybe everyone gets them?

We had a large group of 12 people so, we did call in for a reservation for 5pm, but they weren't busy on an early Friday evening, however they had a steady stream of take out orders. The wings are always a must get here. They offer combinations of Chinese and Filipino dishes. Their portion size of food is big for the price. We ordered 3 plates of their garlic sauce wings (12 per plate), 2 plates of shrimp fried rice, 1 plate of beef chow fun, 2 order of lumpia Shanghai (20 pieces each), 2 plates of sweet and sour pork, 1 plate of garlic string beans and 1 crispy pata. That was the perfect amount that fed the 12 of us, everyone had a full belly and none to take home. Food overall was not the best, really good. Service was much better today than the last time I went when they were super packed with extreme amounts of take out orders. Had a good dining experience at 3 Star today. Will definitely come back for dine in or take out in the future when I am in the area.

Hubby found this restaurant and so we drove to the place. First thing you'll notice once you enter the restaurant is the warm temp inside - no AC but they have electric fans going on. To the right is a long shelf with a variety grocery items while the table seating is laid out in the center. TV was tuned in to a channel playing a Filipino movie. This is a "turo-turo" style food ordering, meaning no table service instead you go to where the dishes are cooked in large portions (which is towards the back of the restaurant) and you choose which ones you want. We ordered: Pork Sinigang - a little too sour for me but this is a classic Filipino soup with pork ribs, vegetables, and tamarind broth. Bistek (beef steak) - thin slices of marinated beef before smothered in a deeply savory sauce and topped with golden-seared onions Pork Adobo - classic Filipino dish of pork simmered in vinegar, soy sauce, and garlic Kaldereta - goat meat stew I didn't try the kaldereta but all the other dishes were good and delicious. You will definitely feel the Filipino hospitality here. Street parking. Maraming salamat! Review #3929
