The appointment began in a small office, where I was asked what "bothered me today"? rather than being examined in a dental chair. I was only moved to the chair after I asked for a clinical evaluation. Dr. Cabanillas briefly reviewed the X-rays I brought and immediately recommended removing most of my teeth and placing full-arch prosthetics for a flat $100,000. No clinical examination, functional assessment, occlusal evaluation, or diagnostic work-up was performed before presenting this plan. When I asked for a diagnostic model to be made, something that is typically a part of prosthodontic planning, I was told, "I don't do models. You need to find another provider.?" I left with no detailed evaluation, no individualized treatment plan, and no explanation of alternative options. This was not the prosthodontic consultation I expected.

My dental hygienist, Michelle, is super awesome. She tells you how it is, but in a friendly way, not a scolding way. She tells you what you need to work on to improve your gum health and she is very knowledgeable. I plan on keeping this office as my dentist. I went to the dentist on 01/06/2026 only to have a small piece of resin that had fallen off glued back on. For that service alone, I was charged $52. Dentist Lea Chernoff said that gluing it back was not the best option and that it would be better to redo the entire tooth. I told her that before anything else, I wanted to know the price of doing the full tooth. She said "okay," but then picked up a tool and started removing the remaining resin from my tooth before telling me the price. I immediately stopped her and said again: before you remove anything, I want to know the cost, because if it was too expensive, I would choose to just glue the fallen piece back--even if it wasn't her recommended option. She then left the room. When she removed the resin, I clearly saw the piece fly off. Knowing it had fallen on the floor, I looked for it and found it. The receptionist then came back with the price: $1,500. I said that was extremely high and pointed out that now gluing the piece back would no longer be possible because the dentist had removed the remaining resin. They insisted she had not removed anything. I told them I saw it with my own eyes. I even opened a photo of my tooth from before on my phone and placed the piece I found on the floor over the photo--it fit perfectly. Only then did they say they would apply resin for free to the part she removed and glue back the piece I originally brought. As expected, because the piece was small, the result was terrible: the resin was thicker than the rest of the tooth and a completely different color. So much for a recommendation of a place that is "honest and doesn't try to take your money." When I confronted dentist Lea Chernoff, she simply said it was the best she could do and walked back to her office. She took no responsibility for the damage she caused. I do not recommend this dentist. Besides trying to deny that she removed part of my tooth (which she did), the quality of the work was poor and unprofessional.

Dr. Kusnick and his staff are absolutely PHENOMENAL…read more I had a hard time finding a dentist to take care of a large cavity and chip in one of my front teeth. I went to Dr. Kusnick after my in-laws and recommended him. It was super easy to arrange an appointment. His office manager, Alyssa, was able to explain what the new patient appointment would consist of and what my Insurance would and would not cover. I went in on a Tuesday to get a general exam and xrays done. Dr. Kusnick told me he could fix my front tooth easily. During the first appointment, he left the room while one of his associates did my xrays. When those were done, I went to go pay Alyssa and schedule my next appointment. Dr. Kusnick came and met me at the desk to tell me that they could fix my awful cavity filled chipped tooth THE NEXT DAY! I was able to come back as soon as they opened the next morning to get the tooth fixed. I was absolutely floored, and definitely cried. I went back to the next day for my filling and a cleaning. Neither took very long, nor were either of these procedures painful. I've attached a before and after to share is incredible restoration work. I have braces in my future after more fillings. I'm forever thankful to Dr. Kusnick and his staff for their help and honest desire to make my smile better. If you need a dentist in or near Sunrise, I cannot recommend them enough.

I have used the same dentist in NYC for approximately 25 years and the thought of going to someone else terrified me. However, as it turned out it was an extremely positive experience and I could not be happier with Dr. Schwartz and his entire staff. I must emphasize here that as someone with a Masters of Public Administration with a concentration in Management, I am rarely impressed with doctor's office staff, but I have nothing but kind words for everyone here, and it just keeps on getting better. Before I get started on the nitty gritty details, I want to stress that I research any doctor BEFORE I even step foot in their office. And since I was so absolutely NOT thrilled with the prospect of needing to go to a dentist in a state where I did not know any, I did even more research than usual to find Dr. Schwartz. I can tell you that hands down no one in a very large radius even came close to being as highly regarded by his patients than Dr. Schwartz, and with my experience with him under my belt, I know why. He is simply exceptional! Like many others during COVID, I neglected keeping up with my dental care. Hind sight is 20/20 and I do understand that was a major mistake. In my defense, I had severe immunity issues due to 32 years of illnesses and was understandably concerned for my safety. Unfortunately, my neglect of my teeth did not end with avoiding the dentist because of COVID. Chronic illnesses do not tend to improve your life and it certainly did not help improve my once fastidious grooming routines. Dr. Schwartz's reaction to seeing my mouth was to describe it as a 5 alarm fire. I deserved it! It is now almost 2 months since I first saw him. After my first appointment, which was an incredibly thorough evaluation, I returned home and told my Mom to make an appointment to come see him ASAP. I want to point out that my Mom had the exact same reaction to both his office staff and him as I did. They are both keepers. We actually tried to reschedule our return trip to NYC in order to complete some of my dental work with Dr. Schwartz. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, it simply was not possible. However, despite that fact, I was able to complete the vast majority of work that needed to be done in my mouth. In fact, I was there today, and will be back in two days time, just so Dr. Schwartz can complete as much as possible before I leave Florida. I have very few rules that I live by (okay, I am stretching the true here a bit) but one of the rules I most believe in, is in not going to a dentist twice in one week. No offense meant here by my comment. It simply isn't my favorite thing to do! Despite that rule, the reality of the situation is that I am both lucky and privileged to see Dr. Schwartz twice in one week! Keep smiling!
