Go to Dr Willey, or not; makes no difference to me. The following is just MY one star experience: I called the office to schedule an appointment for filler and was told a FaceTime consultation was necessary prior to receiving filler. I scheduled a FT appointment, as well as an appointment to receive my filler. No discussion of consultation fee. Minutes prior to my scheduled FaceTime appointment I received a call from the office stating they needed to collect a $150 consultation fee which would be used toward Dr. Willey's services. I am very familiar with consultation fees and cosmetic procedures, so this seemed reasonable, although a bit surprising considering it was a FaceTime call. At the conclusion of my ELEVEN MINUTE FaceTime call (a record of the call included because Dr Willey insists it was a longer conversation), I was informed by Dr Willey she wasn't comfortable injecting me with fillers (this is not my first filler experience) and suggested I see her plastic surgeon friend for another consultation. Since I was denied service and the fee could not be used, I assumed the eleven minute consultation fee would be refunded.... NOPE. I have paid consultation fees, after which I chose not to use the service of the plastic surgeon, that was MY choice and perfectly acceptable. Never have I been denied a service, then charged for it. Because I considered using Yelp to document my experience, I was accused of attempted EXTORTION by Dr Willey and her office manager. That was the final insult. I can afford to lose $150, but it's the feeling of being taken advantage of that leads me to write this post so potential clients can BE(A)WARE. read more

After acting as if I was a running back trying to get past her into the room with my husband "the rooms aren't big enough for you to come in" while holding her arm full out in a partial squat, she took a small scraping of the spot on my husband's right cheek. I had used her before and her treatment rooms are huge. She could tell she was not happy with her behavior. She told us the biopsy would come back and we would go from there. It came back no cancerous but she never followed up to tell us what to do to help it heal. It would never heal. We finally went in to our general practitioner who shave it off completely and sent it it. It came back as precancer. It appears they got it all but if it returns it will need to be treated with liquid nitrogen to keep it under control. Don't be fooled by the big fancy office - unless you are there for something cosmetic and foofy - this is not a doctor that will catch and care for cancer on your face. Also, when I was in there I asked her to stop sneaking up on me and tell me when she was going to touch or inject me. Her response was that she always prefers it the other way when she is the patient. Apparently the way she sees things is the only perspective that matters. Recently I had to have Mohs surgery and I must admit before the surgery my anxiety level was high. I spoke with a friend who recommended Dr Willey and I am so thankful she did. Dr Willey is perhaps one of the most caring and professional Dr's I have had the pleasure of meeting. From the moment she walked in to start the procedure, I knew I was in good hands. As it turned out I had to go thru 5 attempts to remove the Carcinoma. You could see it on her face how compassionate she was each time she had to reenter the room with the news. She is highly skilled and less than two months later I have a just a minimal scar that is healing each day! I cannot find the words to express my appreciation for Dr. Willey. I went to Dr. Willey for a a consultation for several more basal cell carcinomas that need mohs surgery. She immediately made me feel like she cared about me and had my best interests at heart. I just had my first mohs surgery with her and it went way better than I anticipated. The surgery was extremely quick and relatively painless. There was a very short time to wait while the tissue sample was being examined which is a huge positive with mohs surgery. She did an amazing job with the closure and the stitches were done beautifully. After the procedure, I received a phone call check on me. Dr. Andrea Willey did not & would not listen to me, the patient's caregiver, DPOA as I was beginning to explain best practices for her patient's pain management for being in a chair, 10 minutes or longer. I was told, by this doctor: "We are professionals here, I know what I am doing, trust me. We don't need that stuff. We are professionals." I had brought in her egg crate cushions, a small pillow for beneath her head/neck and a thin lap blanket, to either cover her if she gets chilly, or to roll up into a log & place it beneath her ankles so she has floating heels, while in the chair. After the doctor "got her settled, she's very comfy", she declared to me, tersely, "I don't know what your problem is. You don't look satisfied. It's too bad you feel that way...we ARE professionals!" Then, this doctor Andrea, turned half way around & went back to the room. All of this "discussion" took place in the office hallway or at the hall entrance, while I was sitting in the waiting room. I never was able to complete my information to her about the elevation of her lower legs & medically, why it is recommended for best practices of management of her swelling feet & ankles... never was even given a tour of the "chair"... which I feel would have been her best 1st response... to obtain caregiver cooperation by understanding her solution.... I have never been spoken to in all of my 38 + years as an RN, by anyone; much less by a doctor!!! She certainly made grossly mistaken assumptions about what my feelings were, by reading my blank face... I had quickly decided to not confront her, lest she was the type of person who might take her angry feelings out on this patient, my 94.5 year old mother, in for Basal Cell Carcinoma removal on her chin. I was & still am appalled! I have only been back home (1 hr drive, one way) and praying that she doesn't talk to others the way she "pounced" on me. 11/22/2021. The other (younger) staff , assistants, receptionists,, looked the other way, & chose to not make eye contact with me. I can only wonder at why she behaved that way; I feel sorry for her staff & not happy that the medical insurance has to pay, to cover the "recommended treatment", over radiation with her nasty tirade & not any communication skills demonstrated. I'm very disappointed with the scheduling staff at this office, I called to re-schedule my appointment and was given a date and time, the day before my first initial visit that I had canceled , I got a voicemail to verify my appointment so I called back to let them know I cancelled the appointment BUT was put on hold for 10 minutes so I hung up. Here it is the day of my appointment and I decided to call and make sure I was still on the books because I didn't get a call the day before, and I was told I wasn't on the schedule, they just show my canceled appointment from 4/17/19, I told the gentleman that when I canceled my appointment for 4/17/19 I rescheduled that same day, he stated he's sorry but doesn't see me on the schedule and he's booked today. read more

I found Dr. Andrea Willey's office/services on Yelp! whilst narrowing down my focus on a reputable place that would give me what I needed. I needed a mole removed on my nose, near my septum. Not only was she incredibly pleasant to meet and talk with during the meeting and appointment, but she is extremely skilled. If you want a cosmetic procedure done to remove something like a mole, I HIGHLY recommend her. Her prices are actually cheaper than some of the more popular places, AND because she specializes in cosmetic procedures, she's going to do a MUCH better job at giving you, the consumer, what you want (a nice blemish free skin area), than another office that has more interest in obtaining a "more than enough" skin sample to be sent to biopsy. TLDR; you won't be disappointed. Took 5 minutes, and everything worked out so nicely. Cost was around $300 and I find this to be a competitive deal for the technology and quality of service. read more

To date I've been to Dr. Willey's office (a Skin Cancer Surgeon) three times, and each time has been an easy and very rewarding experience in knowing I could not have received better care anywhere else (and I've seen/visited a few doctor's offices in my time). Until recently, I didn't know what a Mohs Surgeon was, or really what they did. I honestly just wanted to remove a few moles which, through life, have annoyed me, but all the doctors I've seen have said "Don't worry about them, they're harmless." How 'wrong' they all were. I would say the experience starts at the first contact with her staff. If it's an e-mail, or a phone call, you are treated as if you are their most important patient. To add to this, you're welcomed like family would be, as if they've known you forever. Everything her staff does puts you at ease for whatever you are being seen for. Though, know it is not just on entrance into the office and/or while you are there, they may contact you afterwards with the same gentle and kind manner which only solidifies your thought of you making the correct choice to use her office. Dr. Willey's staff is incredibly knowledgable, and each member makes her team a success. The office space she has created is designed with ease and style in mind, but in doing so displays the cleanliness you would expect from a professional organization of Dr. Willey's caliber. The entire office space is amazingly clean, neat, and organized! In meeting Dr. Willey you'll soon recognize and understand why she is highly regarded in her community and desired for her remarkable abilities by patients. Her focus and determination to make any procedure perfect is astounding. Dr. Willey settles only for her best performance of skills to be done for you. Seeing her work makes you realize the magnitude of experience in 'doing' her trade. Her movements are fluid to make each moment efficient (her efficiencies should not be misunderstood, Dr. Willey's work is of a quality well above what you had expected). During my initial visit she took interest in all the areas I pointed out, especially one particular mole. Well, the Pathology Report confirmed it, I had skin cancer. Wow, me! I thought of myself as a very healthy guy who has this amazing job, which is physically and mentally demanding, and is still in the climb to greatness. I was dumbstruck. Now, one thing which is probably slipping to the wayside these days is a doctor's "bedside manner". Dr. Willey 'will' take time to talk and listen to you. She will answer all your questions completely so you clearly understand. Dr. Willey is a wonderful person to talk to, with such a sweet and positive disposition, which is entwined with a determination for perfection in everything she does. I was away on travel, in Europe at the time, when the original Pathology Report came back and her office contacted me, then transferred me to her. This is where she broke the news ... and I remember her saying "don't lose any sleep on it". Well, I did the first few nights, not going to lie. During that conversation over the phone she didn't down play the situation, but gave me confidence that she'll battle this issue for me, with all she's got (and she did!). I made my way back to Dr. Willey's office to see her, and now I'm good! No fear or trepidation over what I 'had', and fully aware that what I did have, which numerous doctors missed, could have given me a very different future! I can't thank her and her staff enough. I am absolutely thrilled that I found Dr. Willey. She is a wonderful dermatologist. I had my "witchy" mole removed from my nose. She was very careful not to over-cut it and cause a crater. She also said if she didn't get it all that she would, at no-charge, take more of it off. At this point, I don't think it will be required. I also went in for a full body freckle/mole check. She cut off of a few skin tags. I am dazzled by the results. Her attention to detail is amazing. She also does some light plastics, botox, lip injections, etc. She has a great bedside manner and I couldn't be happier that she's in Sacramento. I have to start by saying that the office squeezed me in for a same day appointment despite how busy they are. I have yet to meet a Doctor in Placer County that makes this kind of accommodation. I tried to get an appointment with Sutter (not accepting patients at all) and Folsom dermatology, who couldn't see me for a month. That's the typical experience I've had with everything from PCP's to Pediatricians. Super frustrating. The fact that Dr. W's office got me in so fast due to my concern with my skin issue was wonderful. The office is beautiful and 100% clean. The assistants are kind, and incredibly professional as well. Dr. Willey is a complete angel. She's incredibly knowledgable & confident, she's also straightforward, detail oriented and very gentle. Dr. Willey has had good reviews in the past and has works with many actresses for their lip injections however I do not know anyone personally who had received services by Andrea, I got my lip injections at the end of September for my birthday for a photoshoot I had wanted to qualify for that require bigger lush lips. After receiving the services they were red and inflamed for a week and a half and as time went on I thought okay maybe if I wait a couple weeks they will raise because she had mentioned the more I drink water the more this would help in having bigger lips. If anything my lips had gotten smaller. (I am certain my top lip has gotten smaller after using their juvederm lip service) I am incredibly disappointed I was told I was going to see a small affect not a drastic change like I want but that they will be slightly bigger. After waiting a few weeks it had not grown even the slightest. I called to complain and they mentioned to wait a little longer and perhaps I didn't get a high enough dosage but as the surgeon you should know the recommended dosage for my lips. I called earlier today to get a complete refund this is ridiculous. She put me on hold and then told me I would be called back, I have yet to be called back on this matter. read more

This review is for acne only. I try not to write negative reviews and I waited a week to write this but I want to tell others of my personal experience/disappointment. I did not book this appointment my mother did for me. From what I read on other reviews she's good at doing moles but acne not so much. The night before my appointment I spent an hour filling out the online paperwork with all my medication history and so on. During my appointment Dr. Willey spent at least 15 minutes on her iPad trying to search for info about my birth control. She said that was important step in controlling my acne, seeing if my birth control was a good one or not. So 15 minutes or more in complete silence she could not tell me if it was good or not... she then tells me I have good skin and I tell her this is my skin on a very good day. I normally have acne on my face, neck, chest and back. I even offered to take my make up off so she could look at my skin since it is blotchy, huge pores and red normally. But she said I didn't need to. I thought that was weird because she should want to see my skin under the make up, I don't think she would have thought my skin was that nice. I then go on to tell her all the medication I have done for acne including doing accutane twice and I was very blunt on saying I was looking for another long term solution because the accutane only worked while I was on it and once I stopped my skin was awful again. She then tries to sell my on her face wash that she has but I wanted a more permanent solution. I currently do a wash twice a day and if I miss doing it once I break out. She then tells me that she doesn't do accutane but a friend of hers does and could help me with that..... after I already made it clear I wasn't wanting to do that for a third time.. it's like she wasn't listening at all. I was interested in lasers or something but all she could offer was accutane which I said I didn't want or her face wash that she sells... mhm just my personal experience. My rating would be higher because I think the work that was done appears to be good and they did follow up to tell me that all of the squamous cell area was removed, but the communication was lacking. If you're looking for warm & fuzzy I wouldn't characterize this office that way, but that isn't what's most important to me. What IS important is that the doctor and staff listen. I tried to explain my insurance policy to the doctor and she started talking over me and told me I needed to pay $450 or so after she went and looked at my plan. She basically charged me the whole bill for what the insurance company would allow as she is in their network. As of today she has been paid by both the insurance company and myself and now I'm waiting on a refund of $361.00. I could really use this money and would gladly go pick up a check from them if I could but so far it's been a little over a week since I spoke with Phi (I think that's how his name is spelled) and no refund. **UPDATE**after my review on Yelp I got a phone call from the doctor who offered to refund me the overpayment right away and I had a check the next day. Now that's good business practice so I will use this dermatologist again. Turns out it was miscommunication but it pays to know exactly what your insurance plan is these days and I'm glad I read mine thoroughly before December open enrollment. BTW, had excellent work done here. It might look horrible right after surgery but now you can't even tell. read more

They are all rip offs and will make any excuses not to let you use the points you payed money for. Also ask before and LOOK at the product they use before you let "DR. WILLEY" inject you with anything. I will make sure I will let everyone know who I come in contact with. All my friends family and so forth. When I try reasoning with her she blew up like a chicken in her fathers and said to just leave and we have no more business together. FYI I wouldn't NEVER EVER EVER EVER COME TO THIS PLACE AGAIN. ALSO DONT LET HER DO YOUR LIPS!!!!! She will say she know what she is doing but even after you show her what u want and TELL her, she still can't see or something. I can't imagine why she works that bad. She is only comfortable injecting your lips on the inside, NOT out so u can have a little plump volume to your lip. Also in the middle of doing my lips she has the nerve to tell me I'm married and I don't need to be doing this and also big lips like I want, don't look good. Who asks u if they look good??? I came at my cost to her to do them and not hear her opinion!!! Also after I SPECIFICALLY show her how I want the lips she tells me in the middle of the procedure that every lip is different and she can't shape them. Are h kidding me??? You couldn't tell me this before u said u can do them??? I have beautiful lips that have the heart shape and all I wanted was a little plumped up on top middle and bottom middle. No way! I came to see Dr. Willy on the recommendation of a dear friend, who had seen Dr. Whilley for MOHS surgeries on two separate occasions in the past. Back then, Dr. Willy was working in two busy group practices in Fairfield and Vallejo. We had learned that she was at the top of her field and dermatological surgery, so we we're happy to make the drive from San Francisco to see her. In the midst of seeing all of the patients we were struck at how caring, attentive, and thoughtful Dr. Willy was in treating and attending to my friend's situation. Now Dr. Willy has finally made the transition into private practice and she's done it with flair. She has taken the time and effort to create and outfit a practice aligned with her ideals and experience over the many years of her practice. As for my experience, my treatment with her was all that I expected and more. She corrected a few skin problems that clearly affected my appearance yet that my dermatologist in San Francisco had, to my dismay, had chosen to leave alone. She took her time and it would not be an overstatement to say that my experience was enjoyable. She has the highest degree of skill and professionalism and yet is so friendly and accessible to her patients. To top it off, since her clinic is brand-new, she's equipped herself with what she considers the best and most advanced equipment she can utilize to implement her treatments. I've learned that she's on several panels and consults with technologists on developing new modalities for treatment, and so when you come to see Dr. Willy you're really getting the best of what's available. Obviously if I could just find practitioners in the other specialty fields with this kind of high marks across the board, I'd be one happy guy. read more

I have seen a number of dermatologists and plastic surgeons throughout the years for both medical and cosmetic corrections, procedures and surgeries. I'm one of those patients who usually does a lot of research before making an appointment with a specialist. Dr. Willey was highly recommended by another doctor I thoroughly respect, so when I needed a MOH's surgery for a basil carcinoma, I decided to have Dr. Willey perform the surgery. I felt quite fortunate to find out this surgery just happens to be one of her specialties... though now that she has performed 3 surgeries on me, I realize that she is just an excellent dermatological surgeon no matter what kind of surgery or procedure is needed! I realize "amazing" is not a word commonly used to describe such medical procedures, but the whole surgery experience with Dr. Willey has been amazing! Pre-surgery examinations and preparations were extensive and thorough. The surgeries went exactly as she said they would, and post-surgery follow-ups have been exemplary. Dr. Willey and her friendly, knowledgeable staff (Ali and Mark) followed up with check-ins that were extremely helpful answering any questions and addressing any concerns no matter how trivial or small. I drive 2-1/2 hours from San Francisco for an appointment with Dr. Willey because she is absolutely the sweetest, smartest and talented doctor I have ever seen. Dr. Willey does have very impressive credentials, and is very competent in her work. I trust her opinions and recommendations on procedures. I urge all of you to read her positive reviews. I have been to several dermatologists in my life with pre-cancerous moles found and taken out. Andrea Willey, MD was in my network with my insurance so I got a referral from my PCP. I called and made an appointment and asked if they do a full body check with clothes off and was told yes. When I got there I was given a gown and told to leave my bra and panties on and I told the gal that some of my concerns were under my breasts. I took off my bra but left my panties on. When Dr. Willey came in I told her of my pre-cancerous mole taken off a few years ago on my right calf and she looked briefly and said she could see the scar. I also told her my concerns about my face and my father and sister had many pre and cancerous areas on their face. I also told her I would take the gown off so she could look at the moles around my breast and under them. She said no that she would look at them. She did the exam while I kept the gown on in under 3 minutes and I told her she did not see all she needed to see. She said she did. I asked her about a few spots on the left side of my face, which she did not really look at, and handed me a card for a person that tints windows and said I needed to get my driver side window tinted. She did not ask me if it was tinted but it is to the law of CA. I left feeling that I really did not have an exam at all as she did not look at my entire body and did not move my panties. What if I had a spot on my buttocks that I could not see? I will never go to her again and felt that I need to go to a dermatologist that will actually look at my entire body and talk to me instead of pushing a tinting person on me. I wonder what kind of a kick back she gets from the person doing the tinting or if she owns this company. How unprofessional of her! I told my PCP and he was shocked at what I told him. Now I have to wait until 2020 to see another dermatologist per my insurance. She has an upscale office and now I know why. She runs people through in a matter of minutes and bills the insurance for over $300. Do not go to her if you want a thorough exam! read more

Just had to have 2 biopsies performed by Dr. Willey and I give her an A+. One was in very delicate area on my face, and she handled it with expert care and technique. I have never had such little pain in a biopsy procedure before - and I have had several. Her bedside manner is superb, and I trust her medical skills without question. A year and a half ago, my Md as he was retiring, told me for my cosmetic needs , to see Andrea..So, I did just that. The office is immaculate, staff friendly & knowledgeable. Wait time, short, for those of you in a rush. other wise, nice ambience. My initial visit was to have some bumps , I thought were skin tags addressed. Had them removed, painlessly. 2nd visit was , for facial injections, to look my best for an up coming wedding.
