Dr Andreas Boker is hands down the BEST dermatologist ever. I'm actually blown away that I found him. He's brilliant, has such wonderful bed side manners, patient and makes sure all of my questions are always answered. He spends the time to make sure I understand everything he tells me and he's extremely nice. I came to him to clear my skin and not only did he do that for me, he exceeded all of my expectations. I struggle with breakouts still even though I'm an adult and Dr. Boker put me on the perfect treatment plan. He knew exactly what to do and for how long. I'm almost done with treatment and then I'll most likely be a forever patient. I'll be coming in for laser and other procedures. I cannot and I repeat CANNOT recommend this Doctor enough. I've been going to dermatologists my entire life, and Dr. Boker is the best one I've encountered so far. He is knowledgeable, never rushes me, allows me to ask any and every question I have, and is genuinely a very nice person. He and his medical assistant are also accessible via email, which is greatly appreciated. He and the staff consistently call to follow up, and they help with things that don't even have anything to do with them (like issues with the pharmacy or lab). Myrlande, Dr. Boker's medical assistant, has been nothing but helpful, especially with difficult issues that have given me anxiety! Icing on the cake is the very convenient location on 42nd St - just 3 blocks from my office. His staff is super friendly and easy to work with when making appointments. So believe all the 5 stars! I went to Dr. Boker on and off for about five years for several different typical dermontogy concerns. I started off liking him, even though he always seemed a bit arrogant, but he seems very checked out and his bedside manner had gotten worse throughout the years. He always seems a bit annoyed when you ask more than one question (maybe they are basic for him but not for patients). However, what has me giving him one star is when I was leaving after going to the bathroom after my appointment, I heard him in his office (with either a nurse or assistant) making fun of me and talking about how I'm annoying! He must have thought I had already left the office That is so inappropriate for a doctor to be this way. read more

First time I felt the need to write a review. The virtual appointment with Dr. Boker is ok but if you need to contact him you have to to call his nurse who is really rude and disorganized at her job. I don't mind if the staff is rude but good at their job but you can't be bad at your job and rude. The doctor is fine but if you prefer not to deal with rude nurses, would recommend a different office. read more

So I believe that a doctor's visit is not only about the doctor but also about the office. Doctor Boker himself was amazing. He answered all of my questions and mostly fixed my problems so I'd give him 4 stars for that. On the other hand, his billing department is terrible. I had recently moved to a new state so I requested my medical records a month and a half before my appointment date. Apparently they didn't mail them to me until 2 weeks after my request. 5 weeks later - I still haven't received them and a week ago, they refused to mail them with a tracking number or priority mail despite the fact that I requested it so long ago and have not gotten them. They refuse to email them to me, which I guess is due to safety, but if these records are clearly getting lost in the mail - that is not any different. I question whether they even sent it when they claim they did because I've never had mail take 3 weeks+ to arrive. read more

About three years back, I had deep cystic acne for the first time in my life. On top of that, the old pimples that had surfaced had left serious hyperpigmentation on my face. The old me was unrecognizable. Nothing OTC worked for me. Prior to seeing Dr. Boker, none of the two dermatologists I had gone to had found solutions that worked. I was recommended Dr. Boker by a friend. At that point, I was desperate and seriously self-conscious. Upon meeting Dr. Boker, he carefully listened to my concerns and took time to examine my skin. He put together a thorough treatment plan and also gave me some great skincare advice, too. I will never forget his warmth and diligence. Fast forward a month. My skin had completely cleared. By month two, my hyperpigmentation was fading away. By month three, my skin was completely clear (and has been looking great ever since). I recommend Dr. Boker to anyone with acne or any other skin condition. A visit to him is one of the most important investments you can make for your skin. read more

Dr. Boker is just awesome. He's so sweet. PLEASE DON'T EVER CHANGE! I called Laser and Mohs and asked to get an appt with him. I was seen two days after I called. I was in and out of his office within 45 minutes. They sent me paperwork prior to complete and I had to sign a couple of forms once I got there. Their office is superrrrr nice. I legit thought I was gonna be charged some sort of other fee for the visit because the office was so nice (I wasn't! I wasn't even told about buying anything from their office). There was tea and stuff outside by the door for you to have while you wait. The nurses were great, but he was definitely the cherry on top. He answered all of my questions...and asked if I had additional questions!! He prescribed the treatment and I just called my pharmacy and they already have it there (it was electronically sent and I had to keep up with the whole "we're super efficient" vibe - by the time I walked out of his office, they had already sent out my prescription). I also got an answer about something that I had on my lip for a few years now and won't go away. He offered to take care of it right then (from my understanding), but it required a needle, and I was like hell no. As long as it's not a disease, I'm good. I'm just glad I finally know what it is. So it sounds like this might have been a lengthy time spent with him - but it wasn't. However, I didn't feel rushed or annoyed or like he was impatient with me. He was willing to be there as long as I had questions it seemed. I spent about five or so minutes with him and got all of the answers I need and was out. I was asked to follow up with him in a couple months to make sure my skin is good again. Point blank: He's great and I will refer him to everyone I know. Go to him. read more

I went for an appt on a monday morning. The dr was nice BUT was yawning the whole time he was in the with me. (Very unprofessional) As if he had a rough weekend. Listen i get it, its monday morning you are tired and so am I but that doesn't help me !!! None of my questions were answered. I left more confused than whenI came in !!! read more

Hi, In the past, because of acne, I went to see Doctor Andreas Boker. He gave me Oracea, but after 3 days, my skin got red patches. Doctor Andreas Boker said he did not think the Oracea had caused the red patches. It sounded like he was too confident in what he gave me - the pills Oracea. So I lost trust. Anyway I stopped taking the Oracea and with better nutrition, I had less pimples. read more

Dr. Booker is amazing! After moving to NYC I developed Rosaeca and I've always had very dry skin but moving up north with all of the dry air and forced heat made my skin even worse. I did a lot of research on dermatologist in the city and Dr. Booker was the doc I felt, was the best fit for me. I based my decision on my insurance, location of the office, his educational background and positive patient feedback. Upon the first visit to his office I was very impressed. The office is beautiful, the staff very friendly. Patients are even offer you water or herbal tea upon coming in. It was very much a relaxing spa setting. I expected, given the posh ambiance of the office, this doc was going to try and sell me on a lot of expensive skin care products and procedures. I came there to willing to do or pay whatever it took to get my skin looking and feeling good well again. To my surprise Dr. Booker did exactly the opposite, he gave me a very basic skin care routine that was very inexpensive and mostly over the counter products with the exception of an antibiotic cream used to treat my face for the redness and inflammation caused by Rosacea. I must say this won me over. I came in wanting to do laser treatments and some other harsh aggressive creams I had read about but Dr. Booker looked out for my best interest and wellbeing. He was honest and told me my skin was too sensitive and not quite ready for treatment that aggressive but that we could revisit the idea of laser treatments after my skin was healthier and after the summer months. Changing my skincare routine to what Dr. Booker suggested did make my skin healthier. In the fall I went back for those laser treatments. He is a very compassionate Doctor that listens to your skin concerns and frustrations and then gives you realistic expectations and then a plan to get from point A to point B. I would recommended Dr. Booker to anyone! He is all around an exceptional dermatologist. I have decided to go back to Dr. Booker to get facial fillers soon. I'm so glad I have found a doc I can really trust for my skincare needs. read more

I have been to this office twice now and I see Dr. Boker. He is wonderful. the staff are also fantastic. I have never had to wait at all. My mother works for a great dermatologist in Long Island so I am extremely skeptical to go elsewhere, but this office is much more convenient. I think it's his office writing these reviews. He is just like any other doctor on Manhattan following the standard script: "oh you have acne, how about: 1)antibiotic 2) retinol - preferably the brand that I get reimbursed for and if that fails 3) accutane". Dr Boker did my Mohs surgery on my nose. He was so skilled that I chose to not have plastic surgery and took a chance to just let it heal on its own. I now have NO SCAR that is perceptible. His skill saved me an expensive and painful procedure, after having something removed that was the size of a pencil eraser in a very obvious place. He is a pleasant, caring and thoughtful doctor with a lot of skill. read more
