UPDATE: I did hear back from the salon, two days before my wedding. I appreciate that they did get…read morein touch but it was a very mixed message (kind of apologetic, but also a bit accusatory; offering to bring me back in to make it right, but 48 hours before my wedding). I do want to note that I sound pretty angry in my review, and my language isn't the nicest. I thought about editing it but ultimately, this was an honest reflection of my experience. I'm letting it stand, keeping in mind that two stars on Yelp is, as they note, "Meh. I've experienced better"--not "aaah the world is ending." (I did take out one line that was a little unnecessary at the end!) ----------------- Perhaps you should just go here for other services Yelpers recommend, but I tried going--based on the glowing reviews here--for a bridal hair and makeup trial and could not have been more disappointed. Neither the stylist (Trish) nor the makeup artist (Preeti) paid any attention whatsoever to what I asked for, and both were very resistant to make any changes and just told me they could do things differently on my wedding day. Um. Not the point of a trial. Maybe it was late in the day and they wanted to go home, or had bad days, whatever, but it sucked. Plus I went with two friends and they were made to feel about as uncomfortable as guests could possibly feel--in a basically empty salon. I left feeling absolutely terrible about myself, with an updo that frizzed out within two hours, and makeup I washed off when I got home it made me so unhappy. (Also: when a makeup artist stabs you in the eye, it happens; but they should probably say a quick "sorry" rather than point out how now they're going to have to redo your bottom lid liner.) I left a voicemail at the salon saying I was unhappy with services and canceling my bridal appointment. They did not call back. Two weeks before my wedding and $125 invested, I have to find somewhere else to go. Two stars because the salon uses high quality makeup, and people were generally friendly.

UPDATE 4-26-2026: ~ AVOID ~ Do not roll the dice on this…read moreshop, or you will be sorry. I should have read the earlier review by S.O. who had had the same experience as me. The photo speaks for itself. Do not be fooled by the planted 5-star reviews of this business from single-review, fake accounts. The moment I entered their store and saw the run-down state of it, I should have turned around and left. She doesn't like my review that exposes the disaster that she created, so she calls it fraudulent. Do I need to show my ID and the card that I paid the bill with? I even gave her $10 tip for the nightmare that she created. She never asked me a single question to find out what I liked and didn't. She just took out her clipper machine and rummaged through my hair with a vengeance. She was in a rush to get me out of the door, so she could get to her old customer, whom she had double booked in my slot. It's not your decision what hair length I should have. Where I had asked to keep a 2.5" length, she kept only 0.5" and cut an extra 2". Where I had asked her to keep 2", she kept 0.5" and cut an extra 1.5", where I asked her to keep 1.5", she kept 0.5" and cut an extra 1". And instead of apologizing for the absolute disaster that she created, she is lecturing me! ______________________________________ UPDATE, April 25: I woke up this morning to an absolute disaster, 24 hours after my haircut, by far the worst cut I have had in years. Lowering from 2 stars to 1. I was supposed to have a passport photo taken in the next couple of days for an upcoming overseas trip. The photo will remain in the passport book for 10 years!! I could not have been more specific about what I wanted. I had drawn on paper the style that I wanted and had written in numbers the length of hair that I wanted to keep on different parts of my head. This was not a case of verbal miscommunication; it was the case of a hairstylist gone rogue, who decided on her own what cut she wanted to do, without asking me one question. _________________________________________ ORIGINAL REVIEW, April 24 - First time there and quite disappointed. Maro cut my hair in a rushed manner and paid no attention to what I had asked for. A few minutes after I sat in the chair, another guy walked in who apparently had a booking with her for the same time slot as me. She had double booked the slot and was rushing to get to the next person. When I entered their store and saw the run-down state of it, I should have turned around and left. When I go to a new hairdresser for the first time, I take with me a sketch drawn on paper that shows the cut I want and specifies in inches, written in numbers on the sketch, the length that I like to keep in different sections of my head. I do that, in order to avoid verbal miscommunication. I showed it to her, she took a two-second look and seemed dismissive. She ended up cutting an extra 1" to 1-1/2" more than I wanted. I have to wear a baseball cap 24/7 for the next 6 weeks to hide this disaster.

Everyone who knows me knows that Michelle is my hair stylist because every time she freshens up my…read morecolor and/or cut, I get a million inquiries on who made my hair look so fabulous!!! So no surprise that Michelle is an absolute sorceress of all things hair color and maintenance. Today, though, I experienced her new service for a scalp facial. Let me tell ya, this was one of the most relaxing and sensational couple of hours of my life! Plus, my scalp is feeling healthier than ever and my hair reflects the health with an extra shine and softness. So, what was so great about this scalp facial? This one starts with a nice brush of the roots, where Michelle spent lots of time really loosening things up. Then she mixed a special scalp mask that was perfect for the things I wanted to target with my scalp (like some extra moisture and removal of product buildup). That sat for a while doing it's thing and then over to the sink I went. At the sink Michelle offered me a (disposable) eye mask, which I accepted. Definitely take the eye mask!!! While I lay comfortably in the relaxing darkness, Michelle worked in additional products to my roots, each one smelling more delicious than the next, and I entered into a complete in-body sensory experience. She brought in tuning forks to use at various points explaining what they helped with: grounding, circulation, calming. I felt my body fade into a complete space of calm. Rounding out the facial was a great hair wash (who doesn't look having their hair washed?!) inclusive of a scalp massage. When I opened my eyes and took off the eye mask I felt like a new person. I was talking calmer, moving more gently, just overall operating on a different vibration. Michelle finished off the service with a blowout. My hair has never smelled so incredible!!! I typically treat myself to a spa facial for my skin ~ 4x a year. Now that I've had a scalp facial, it's going to be on a similar rotation!! One of the best services I've ever received and left me feeling like I just bought myself the absolute best self-care around. Thank you Michelle for helping me end my week and start my weekend in a calm space. *Bonus* if you're a music lover, Michelle's playlist is always fire and matches whatever mood we're playing with. Today's mix was the perfect soundtrack for the restorative, gentle service I was receiving.
