This woman is a miracle worker. I have dealt with my hair falling out and regrowing for the past 20 years. After wearing $3000 wigs to head scarfs I finally decided to take the plunge and consult with Nancy as my hair had FINALLY all grown back. Not only is she professional, but she's honest. When we consulted, Nancy told me that the minimally evasive micro technique/ i.e. sew in extensions would be best for me and that she would do everything in her power to make sure I was pleased with the results. Because I am caucasion with somewhat kinky hair that definitely has a mind of its own, I asked her thousands of questions- ranging from the difference between bonded extensions to weaves to wigs to sew in extensions to fillers. Together we decided based on my texture and condition that sew in's were the way to go. When I arrived at the salon the next day she had everything set up and boy does she work fast! I was visiting Boston in March 2014 from Nairobi, Kenya and found Nancy advertised on this platform. I called her and explained what I wanted. Even on her day off, Nancy was very receptive and was great to bounce ideas off of, she asked me to share photos of how my hair looked like and what I was thinking of doing and secured my appointment. She recommended the hair that I should go for but we used the hair I had at the time. She fixed a sewn in weave - 2 packs of 14 inch hair and left my hair open at the front. She then layered it and I looked AMAZING! She kept time on the day she fixed the extensions, was very friendly and customer centric. We hit it off, she explained everything she was doing at every stage and kept asking for what I liked regarding my hair as she fixed it. I came to find out that she'd visited South Africa recently and therefore had a lot more to talk about our different cultures. I truly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend her to anyone needing extensions fixed. On the day of my event, I realized that I hadn't secured an appointment with her and called her in panic. Luckily, she was able to squeeze me in between appointments and styled my hair. I got complimented all day long and enjoyed my day looking and feeling very pretty. I recently got my hair done this week, and I was aiming for a new yet soft hair style. I have had trouble finding the right hair stylist in Boston to nail the hairstyle look I want, and I tend to leave the hair salons in the past pissed, aggravated, and angry about the waste of time and excess amount of money I paid for the past hairstylists. However, I found NV HAIR on google and it was nearby (on Newbury Street) so I thought I'd give it a chance because the pictures online looked great. I booked an appointment with Nancy, and she helped me pick the right hair to use. When I showed up for my appointment, she was on time and the location was nice. It took her approximately 2 hours to do my hair and I left EXTREMELY happy about the net weave she did for me. She cut the hair nicely, and honestly, I have never had such a great experience at a hair salon for the almost 4 years I have been in school in Boston. Not only is she very friendly, nice, and personable, but she helped me buy answering my hair questions and providing me with hair advice to grow my broken hair in the front. I would definitely go back to her again. The only reason I state that this location is pricey is because I am a student so there is only so much I can allocate to get my hair done. I moved from California last year and was worried about finding a stylist. I have had many experiences with hairstylists, some of the "best in LA" and Nancy by surpasses all of them. She is very professional, her office location is quite appealing, her rates are more than fair and affordable, she is QUICK! (finished a take down, wash, and redo weave in less than 4 hours!!), and most importantly my hair looks fabulous and as good as it did when she first did it 3 months later! I have naturally long and thick hair and many people question why I wear a weave. I work and study and have very little time to do my hair. Nancy is so incredibly talented she can do whatever style you want. She is a genius for style and appropriate presentation for every individual. She is so friendly and down to earth and it is always a pleasure to know that my hair is in good hands. Nancy is the best! I've been probably been driving her crazzzy, changing the extensions that she first did in Jan. but she has been so understanding and does it all with a smile and wonderful personality! I'll call her and get an appointment within a week, sometimes couple of days. Her work is very good and the hair she has is really good quality. I got an an open top w/ edges out originally and then eventually added purple. The first took about 2 1/2 hours she's really fast but doesn't compromise the integrity of your real hair. We recently took out the extensions to wash my natural hair and because the awesome work she did the first time my hair real hair has grown 5 inches and feels much healthier. Her braids are done to last, but not to the point where your head is killing you. I travel into Boston from the north shore and she's a quick walk from the green line copley stop. For the skills I believe her pricing is very fair. The original open top was $250.00 and you can buy her hair and bring your own. Anyone looking for extensions needs to call her now! Nancy is honestly a hair magician. There has never been a time when she has done my hair and I have been disappointed. Anytime I go to her, she works wonders with my hair. I wouldn't go anywhere else on Newbury street and even in Boston for hair extension. The braids are never too tight but they last long and she always sews it in so well that it looks natural. People always compliment my hair when it's done by her. She is also good with time (she can work around your schedule when possible) and even braids and sews very quickly. I don't know why I keep forgetting this but you get what you pay for. If you want high quality extensions or weave done by a true professional, this is who you go to in the Boston area. She has done lots of celebrity hair in Boston and Atlanta so you are definitely in the best hands. She's been doing my weaves since I was in college and sometimes I get tempted to get the cheap weaves to save money but I always regret it and come back to her. She uses a special technique to protect your hair, edges and promote growth since she's looking at the bigger picture for you, unlike most hairdressers who will braid your hair too tightly and leave you with no edges in the long run. She also specializes in hair loss patients so she is very sensitive with your hair. The first time I went to her, I had a bald patch from bad hair practices and she provided a private appointment where I felt secure uncovering my hair. She's truly a hair doctor. I invest in good quality hair so it would be quite a waste to have it installed by someone unprofessional where the hairstyle won't last. I am so greatful that a friend told me about NV My Hair almost a year ago. I had always wanted to try extensions to enhance lenghth and fullness, but the process always scared me a bit. During my consultation, Nancy explained how her method is very safe for all hair types. I found her to be truly an expert on the subject and her portfolio is amazing. I decided to go for it and I've been wearing Nancy's extensions ever since. They look incredibly real and bled perfectly with my own hair - no one believes me when I tell them I'm wearing them. Nancy is AMAZING!!!! she is so talented and will transform you from every day to fabulous. I've spent years searching for a stylist in New England that can do celebrity type weaves and she is THE ONLY ONE!!! Nancy was really nice and she was quick (you know how weaves usually keep you @ the salon for half the day). I am biracial, my dad is black and mom is white, and with my mom raising me my whole life I never learned how to take care of my hair. It was always a pain in the you know what to deal with and i had to wear it up everyday because it was simply all i could do. NOT ANYMORE! Nancy did such a great job, it was my first time and I was nervous/scared/excited all at the same time. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed and I really respect her work ethic to do things right. Words cannot describe what a godsend Nancy has been for my hair!! I had never had a weave, but after significant damage and no idea where to begin to get my natural hair back to its healthy state, I googled hair restoration and found Nancy (and read her amazing resume). She got me in the next day!!! She encouraged me and said my hair just needed a break. She gave me recommendations for my hair and put in a protective weave. I've become a huge fan of Nv My Hair. Nancy is a lifesaver!! This past October, a fellow graduate student recomended this place during one of my brief trips to Boston. Not only was Nancy able to take me on last minute, but also able to do a great job with my hair in a short time frame. I was so impressed that I made my second visit again in December. What I loved most about Nancy is that she was able to educate me about caring for my weave & scalp. I have worn weaves/tracks on and off for the past four years and was shocked to learn that the technique my former stylist used was contributing to temple hair loss. I had sought advice from a dermatologist before and was using a foam to stimulate hair growth in that area in addition to taking breaks from weaves altogether. So far a little over 3 months with Nancy's technique (no longer using the foam or relaxing the affected region) , I have seen significant hair growth in addition to rocking a beautiful weave! I love,love,love my hair, thank you NANCY!...first off I appreciate that the whole process only took 2 hours..Nancy Brown was very personable and easy to talk to which is a plus in a stylist...i felt very relaxed and comfortable with her..I have always been kind of put off by weaves and extensions because they never seem to look right on people I know who get them..my one previous experience getting a full weave from another local salon I was not impressed as the weave was very very bulky up top and the weave was so tight that my head was pounding for 3 days and on the third day i had to remove it ton stop the pulling...i prefer Nancy's style of braiding to the round beehive type braiding that was used at the other salon...im very low maintenance when it comes to my hair and i just needed it tucked away for a while so it can have a break from all the heat from flat irons and blow dryers as my hair is not relaxed..im am very happy with my results..im definitely going back! read more

Today was my first time getting HAIR EXTENSIONS. I was a little nervous because I never had that in my hair before. My real hair is not long. The length of my hair without the extensions is up to my neck line. I happen to find NV Hair Salon on Google. I glanced through a couple of hair salon websites but for some reason I wanted to try NV Hair Salon. BEST CHOICE I MADE WITH NO REGRETS. When I first got there I was a little nervous. Nancy is very skilled, has a great personality and is genuinely nice. I love that she does your hair in a private setting which leaves you feeling like an exclusive celebrity client. She is naturally talented at doing hair, is patient and wont let you walk out until you feel perfect. She knows all the techniques of hair extensions and cutting but is always learning more and updating for her clients. Once she does your hair you wont want to use anyone else. She is a true professional. Ive been a client for years but lately her prices are too high. Its at least $180-$200 to get your weave done which is not pocket friendly for some of us. I absolutely love nvmyhair! Nancy always makes herself available within a week or two of calling her. She does great weaves, takeouts, wash, style and set, deep conditioning treatments. I've been going to her for my hair for more than one year now. Her salon on Newbury is very accessible. She's super nice to talk to, cordial, cares about the finished product and I would recommend her to anyone for weaves! I get sooo many compliments from the public on my hair everytime I walk out of her hair salon! She also sells really great human hair from a private vendor, that lasts a really long time and looks so natural! Nancy is fantastic!!! She is so quick and the hair looks amazing! This was the first time I had had a full net weave and I loved how I looked! Not only did my hair look amazing, but so did my eyebrows!! It took no more than a mere hour and a half for my whole head to be braided and the net and weave sewn on. It was so quick and so well done, I could barely believe it! I have never had anyone do my hair so well, that fast! And I have had to sit through quite a few painful hours of hair braiding in my time! Nancy is also very sweet and friendly and I would definitely recommend her to anyone!.
