Be aware that the full story and explanation of Oregon laws willl not be told to you, primarily because some of the staff talking with you don't know or understand the laws. If you are a guardian and conservator for someone, the guardianship ends with their death. However, you are still responsible to file a financial report as the conservator. This funeral home told us we would have to defer the "disposition of remains" to the person's estranged daughter. We were never told that the death certificates we paid for with the deceased person's money, would go to this daughter, while we need them to file court reports. At several points in our process, lack of knowledge was apparent, so be careful. They will not support you or own the lack of clarification. read more

Andreason's staff did a very good job with my brothers recent passing. They set up their room so we could have a pleasant celebration of life. They also gave us another area to have refreshments for all those who attended. The print cards of my brothers obit , bible verses, and celebration was done very well. We went through several iterations and changes before completed. They were very courteous and kind from the day of his passing through the cremation rites and celebration of life. We were quite a ways away from where my brother lived, but they helped us through all of the steps needed to make this a true celebration for family and friends. I had a wonderful experience working with Andreason's for helping me put plans in place for my mom and for taking care of her when she passed. My mom was in a care facility here in Eugene, Oregon and her final wishes were to be buried with my dad in California. Two years before her passing - I put plans in place to make things easier for when her time came. I am so glad I did. I called different mortuaries in the area and Areason's was by the far the kindest and easiest to work with. They worked with me and partnered with a mortuary in California to get everything set up. My mom passed two years later and the morning of her passing - I called Andreason's in tears. They were so kind and reassuring. Working with them to get the final plans in place - they did everything to carry through mom's and my wishes. When our father passed, we called Andreason's because we had received very good and reasonable services years before with our uncle. It started off good with timely pickup of our father and assurances that we could make arrangements within 2 days as it was a holiday weekend, to view him, make payment, and that they could have him cremated by week's end from 2 gentlemen attendants. They told us that we would be called Tuesday morning. That Tuesday morning came and went without a call. so I called them and was told that we could not come in that day, the soonest they could get us in was Thursday afternoon and his body could not be cremated for 7 to 15 business days! I made the appointment with some protest that it wasn't what we were told, to which the young woman replied in a very nonchalant voice, "sorry, is there anything else?" Then when we arrived on that Thursday, we saw Jeff the funeral director, who became very defensive when we asked to view the body saying that could not happen until the following week and that it would be $133 to view him. My family and I told him that was not acceptable, we were told differently and he responded in a short manner that we could do a "identification viewing" for $93 but he would have to pull one of his employees off from an embalming! Things calmed down from there, arrangements and payments were made. We still did not know when he would be cremated, and Ted informed us he was leaving for vacation the next week, but his staff could answer any questions. Well when inquiries about certain things we had arranged were asked of phone staff the next week, they said only Ted could answer those questions. When we asked over two weeks after his passing when his remains could be picked up, the staff told me that they didn't know. Again saying that was unacceptable, and could they find out, they said they would leave a message for Ted to call me. After 24 of waiting for the call, I emailed Ted and asked another question, and informed him that the ashes were given to the wrong person later on the previous day after I had called!!! His email response was, "Thank you for your patience. It's been a busy few days in our office." Then later, I discovered that the ashes had not been split up as arranged, instead they were put into one narrow opening urn in a plastic bag making it difficult to split the remains, but also the lid had been cross-threaded on it so tight, that is was nearly impossible to get off! This is the kind of business that is supposed to make their customers at ease during a difficult time in their life. Andreason's did not do that. Every person in my family felt they dropped the ball on every occasion and dealing with them. They initially set up our expectations high, and they deliver very low. We of course, will not be using their services again. read more

We were treated with utmost respect in ALL regards. We found Buell/Andreason's to be the most competitive price for all services. At the gravesite they provided a canopy for protection on a wet day. They explained what would be done prior to burial and followed through exactly as planned. We were extremely impressed with the care they took to meet the wishes of the family. read more

I had Andreason's do their basic cremation sevices for a friend's body. Every step was done well, with good communication. We spread the ashes, and did not require an urn. They packaged the ashes well for airline transport. I have no complaints at all, and they were always professional. My 92 year old mother was disrespected by and reasons funeral home. First of all, I her daughter Patricia gehrig was the executor of her will. I was humiliated by jp, when he told me the casket I picked out for my mom wasn't still going to stop the critters and water from getting into it. I was all by myself, and horrified that he would even say such a thin like that to me. When we got out to the grave site, they put her over a hole that was dug across the cemetary from where my mom was supposed to be. When I said something to them about it, they said we will have the services here, and take care of it. Then they put her in that hole anyway, as the casket was tipping on the way down, and then lifted her, the casket, and the tomb to the top, of the ground, then put the top of the tomb on and wheeled her over to the other side of the cemetary with a tractor, until the right hole was dug. There was my mom's head stone already there, and flags there to show where to dig the hole. As far as I'm concerned my mom was disrespected beyond belief, you would of thought they would have at least enough respect to haul her over to the other side with the Hurst, even if they had to bring it back. There were no other funerals held that day, so it wasn't like they just got mixed up, we were out there until 7:00 pm trying to get my mother played peacefully to rest. For the family members that stuck around was a nightmare! I honestly would not recommend them to anyone, and if you do, be aware! read more
