He is very detailed about understanding the basic and theories of swing so my swing can be repeatable. It is like breaking down the "physics" of golf by bits and having you to understand why each bit is important for a good swing. A little note form my lesson today: Gear 1: body Gear 2: arms Gear 3: hand and clubs - They should be lock, unlock, lock OR unlock, lock, unlock. NO 2 connecting locks or unlocks. Stage 1: gear 2 movement, gear 1 and 3 lock. Make sure the swing up is above the plane (or above "water level") then swing down plane. Armpit is connected to the body and not loose, loose of arm and body will cause gear to loosen up. Stage 2: arm swing with hip movement finish; or 3 quarter swing. Starts with stage 1, finish with hip rotation forward, left hip on top of ankle (weight forward). And slight head tilt.

As I continued with him, each lesson got more layered and confusing. I felt I was learning a tour level swing and it shouldn't be this complicated. At the end of the lessons, there was never any game plan. Just a "keep working on it", which didn't feel sincere, and he moved onto the next student. All the teachers there are in the $120-$150 range so it's not cheap. Spend your money wisely, and don't go for lessons every week. It also takes time and reps to get what you learned. I feel that was part of the problem, and was not stopped.

It can get quite busy during peak hours and especially in the summer. There is also an area to practice short pitch shots and a sand trap. A bucket of balls cost a bit more than the average range but the shot tracer is well worth it. The 18 hole course is a bit better than your typical muni course. Greens aren't in the best shape but they are decent for the cost of the round. There is also a proshop with all you need and more to play a round. I highly recommend Alhambra Golf course!

The one thing I noticed with Brian is that he's looking to work with you rather than having a single way of teaching things. We quickly determined I was more of a 'feel vs real' player rather than a technical player so he stopped showing my videos of down the line with hand positions and worked on what I should be feeling to get the proper ball flight. He's attentive, responsive, friendly and professional and most importantly, is invested in you getting better as a player. Less than a year later, I just shot a PR of 77! Sometimes I think someone is angry when they're selecting where to place the pins, especially on the third. Who hurt you? LOL Today, it was the third, fifth and the fourteenth. The greens definitely have a lot of character. The fairways are kept, too. The little creeks between the holes are awesome, and the pond between the fourteenth and fifteenth holes always have beautiful swans and ducks in or around them. If you're looking to squeeze in a game so you can relax and have some quiet time, Arroyo Seco is the course where you'll want to be.

He said they were the Ferrari of club fitters. "Master Fitter" had me hit my 7 iron and then had me hit different 6 irons. He ran the numbers on the "optimizer" and said I could only get 10 yards more from my 7 iron and that the club was doing its job. Stopped the iron fitting there and went to driver. Today, Jeff had me warm up, casually asking about my game, usual ball flight etc. He explained to me the potential causes of my misses. One of the reasons being, the club was too light. He gave me a lot of really priceless swing tips. We worked on with different shafts and heads... he explained the process and connected it to my swing. He put stickers on the face to show where I was hitting the ball. He always reviewed distance trends and took in to account the flight of my misses. Thankfully I was able to execute his tips and the average carry of my 7 iron was amazing. On course, my TOTAL distance would be 120. After Jeff's club and swing magic, my CARRY was 130. Total sometimes 140-150. So excited to get my new set of irons. My only regret is I didn't come here first. I'll be coming back here for woods and have him check with driver I got from. Club champion. I really wish I went here first. Iron fitting was $150 but the swing tips alone I feel was so much more. Will be telling everyone to come here. Andrew is a very patient & wonderful instructor. I have never played golf in my life but my friend wanted to learn so I decided to join her. I called Andrew to set an appointment & even on the phone he was helpful. He was very patient with me (I sure had a lot of questions) and explaining the prices and his package deals. My friend & I decided to do one lesson first to see his teaching style. After the first lesson we decided to do his six lesson package. So far we've had four lessons with him & I have learned so much. I can definitely hit the ball 90% of the time compared to when I couldn't even hit it at all :) Random tips/facts: - if you don't have any clubs to start off with, Andrew can provide you with some for the day - you should buy your own balls from the driving range - Andrew uses his iPad to help you with your swing - I believe you can go out to the course with him if you want help with your game I would definitely recommend him to my friends. I didn't enjoy the coaching style, because it felt it like it wasn't catered to my body type specifically. It was a system that they used to coach everyone. I enjoyed Stephen's lesson a lot more because it felt more catered to my body's natural movement. He did however made some recommendations to my swing path and give me a bunch of drills to work on, but it didn't feel too awkward when compared to my lesson elsewhere. I'm still somewhat shopping around to experience different styles of coaching, but I definitely do recommend Stephen and would go back to him for additional lessons.

Keith teaches up at Scholl Canyon in Glendale and is usually there 5 days a week, sometimes even more when needed. I was originally referred to Coach Keith after my son stopped taking lessons with another golf coach. Coach Keith was referred to me as being a wonderful and patient Junior Golf Coach. Patient and awesome are two words I can describe Keith in short. He also teaches a lot of adults too. Coach K has been such a great golf coach that my family considers him as a good friend now. Business is business but the friendship between my son and I and Keith has grown into a personal one. He's been great and I've seen my son excel in golf so quickly with his wood, iron, short game and putting game. Keith also talks to the kids about their mental game too which is beneficial for junior golfers. In addition to on-range instruction, Coach Keith also does on-course lessons, group outings, summer combines, and other junior and adult activities. If you want to be great at golf, I suggest any new golfer (or seasoned golfer) take golf lessons. I also recommend Coach Keith Morgan for lessons!

They all seemed to be teaching their swing. For me, I wanted a coach that showed me what my faults were and how to fix those. Keith does that. To me, he is the best version of a modern golf teacher. (If you listen to the podcasts Chasing Scratch or the Sweet Spot, you'll know what I'm talking about) Listen, golf is still hard. And Keith can only instruct you, you'll still need to put in the work. But just anecdotal evidence of how much you should trust him: I was shooting in the mid 90s. And after maybe 5 or 6 lessons. I shot a 78. So yeah... Keith is your guy. Just trust me on this.
