He is very detailed about understanding the basic and theories of swing so my swing can be repeatable. It is like breaking down the "physics" of golf by bits and having you to understand why each bit is important for a good swing. A little note form my lesson today: Gear 1: body Gear 2: arms Gear 3: hand and clubs - They should be lock, unlock, lock OR unlock, lock, unlock. NO 2 connecting locks or unlocks. Stage 1: gear 2 movement, gear 1 and 3 lock. Make sure the swing up is above the plane (or above "water level") then swing down plane. Armpit is connected to the body and not loose, loose of arm and body will cause gear to loosen up. Stage 2: arm swing with hip movement finish; or 3 quarter swing. Starts with stage 1, finish with hip rotation forward, left hip on top of ankle (weight forward). And slight head tilt.

It can get quite busy during peak hours and especially in the summer. There is also an area to practice short pitch shots and a sand trap. A bucket of balls cost a bit more than the average range but the shot tracer is well worth it. The 18 hole course is a bit better than your typical muni course. Greens aren't in the best shape but they are decent for the cost of the round. There is also a proshop with all you need and more to play a round. I highly recommend Alhambra Golf course!

The driving range net near the first tee is clearly too short, and from what I experienced, this has apparently been an ongoing problem for years without meaningful changes being made. During my round I was almost hit by golf balls three separate times, including being struck by a range ball on the first tee. There were already dozens of balls scattered around the tee box, making it obvious this is not some rare or unexpected occurrence. A warning over the loudspeaker does not fix an unsafe setup when range balls are consistently clearing the netting. Beyond the safety concerns, the course conditions have gone downhill badly compared to when I played about a year ago. The greens were extremely rough and bumpy, putting felt more like putting on cement than on maintained greens. The layout also feels overly cramped and tightly packed, which only adds to the safety concerns throughout the course. To top it off, my golf cart died before I could even finish the round. Overall the experience felt poorly maintained, overcrowded, and unsafe, which is disappointing because the course used to be in much better shape.

My friend and I each got a bucket for $16 and the balls get sent straight to your assigned, automatic bay so no more lugging around buckets and bending over to tee up. The range is clean, well-lit, well-kept, with seating for each bay. Mats are also in decent condition. Unfortunately, we weren't told of a 1-hour time limit when we paid so my friend and I each lost ~25 balls when we were cut off. Perhaps they made announcements about this via the loudspeaker but it all just sounded muffled and I could barely hear. Only found out about the limit when the balls stopped appearing and I questioned staff. Besides that, I had a great experience and will be back with the time limit in mind.

On the first day we met, I told him my goal was to break 80 and wasn't looking for a complete overhaul of my swing. The one thing I noticed with Brian is that he's looking to work with you rather than having a single way of teaching things. We quickly determined I was more of a 'feel vs real' player rather than a technical player so he stopped showing my videos of down the line with hand positions and worked on what I should be feeling to get the proper ball flight. He's attentive, responsive, friendly and professional and most importantly, is invested in you getting better as a player. Less than a year later, I just shot a PR of 77! If you're looking for lessons, I can't recommend Brian enough.

As mentioned above, I've been playing golf since my mid 20's. I'm self taught, learning from watching the golf channel, reading magazines and through youtube. At my best I was shooting 93-97 and was constantly frustrated with my game. My best scores were 83 and 85 when I was hitting the range on a more consistent basis. After I found Keith, he'd take the time to help me with my swing after he was done with my daughter's lesson. After working with Keith and really breaking down my swing, working on my bad habits (of which I have plenty) I started to piece it back together again. Sometimes I think someone is angry when they're selecting where to place the pins, especially on the third. Who hurt you? LOL Today, it was the third, fifth and the fourteenth. The greens definitely have a lot of character. The fairways are kept, too. The little creeks between the holes are awesome, and the pond between the fourteenth and fifteenth holes always have beautiful swans and ducks in or around them. If you're looking to squeeze in a game so you can relax and have some quiet time, Arroyo Seco is the course where you'll want to be.

On a hot summer day, the shaded area was perfect! The playground is also kid-friendly, ages 4-9 I think. It was a bit challenging for my 3 year old, but he managed. The park also has a dedicated skating area and basketball court, which I appreciated. Only downside is that there were some groups BLASTING non-family friendly music out of their boom box. It was VERY loud and disruptive. We left the park early because of it.

The staff says what you want to hear, but again and again no change is made. Disappointing from an owner that is a former educator so she is well aware of the screen time limits and recommendations for elementary aged children. I have noticed that some sites are being run much better than others, so be aware to actually check on what your child is doing each day there after homework is done. Don't rely on the staff, but check internet usage and ask your child. Maybe your school site program differs.

Andrew is a very patient & wonderful instructor. I have never played golf in my life but my friend wanted to learn so I decided to join her. I called Andrew to set an appointment & even on the phone he was helpful. He was very patient with me (I sure had a lot of questions) and explaining the prices and his package deals. My friend & I decided to do one lesson first to see his teaching style. After the first lesson we decided to do his six lesson package. So far we've had four lessons with him & I have learned so much. I can definitely hit the ball 90% of the time compared to when I couldn't even hit it at all :) Random tips/facts: - if you don't have any clubs to start off with, Andrew can provide you with some for the day - you should buy your own balls from the driving range - Andrew uses his iPad to help you with your swing - I believe you can go out to the course with him if you want help with your game I would definitely recommend him to my friends. Then after losing like seven balls at Canyon crest and shooting in the upper 90s again, I finally humbled myself and realized I might need a coach In my business life- coaching had paid for itself many times over and I finally widened up and thought "why not golf too" Maybe you relate, I'd been trying to bake a cake with a million different recipes on YouTube and I knew that if I was humble enough to go and copy someone else's playbook from top to bottom just maybe I might stand a chance When I met Jay, I could tell right away, this guy knows his stuff and he spoke my language, "biomechanical efficiency", "anatomical limits", "isometric tension", and on and on You see I'm a skeptic and I'm pretty critical by nature and I challenge everything, but anything I threw at Jay he had a response for, and not only that he was able to redirect me and tell me where I'm not even asking the right questions I must admit I'm a difficult person to work with. I'm an eight on the Enneagram (a challenger), and not only is Jay gifted in his golf system, but also in his soft skills, such as being able to handle challenging people. He knew when to step on the gas and push me and he knew when I just needed a nice cold Gatorade cause I was about to explode Today I finally broke 80. He told me I would within 6 months of his coaching... and we made it Cheers Jay, to a true coach. Someone who answered my late evening and weekend texts, kept me on the tracks, kept it simple when i needed simple, and we had a few laughs along the way.
