Alhambra golf driving range and course are an excellent place to start learning how to golf. The range has a shot tracer that you can connect to your phone to track all of your shots. It can get quite busy during peak hours and especially in the summer. There is also an area to practice short pitch shots and a sand trap. A bucket of balls cost a bit more than the average range but the shot tracer is well worth it. The 18 hole course is a bit better than your typical muni course. Greens aren't in the best shape but they are decent for the cost of the round. There is also a proshop with all you need and more to play a round. I highly recommend Alhambra Golf course! read more

The biggest issue at Alhambra Golf Course is safety, and it honestly feels like management does not care to properly address it. The driving range net near the first tee is clearly too short, and from what I experienced, this has apparently been an ongoing problem for years without meaningful changes being made. During my round I was almost hit by golf balls three separate times, including being struck by a range ball on the first tee. There were already dozens of balls scattered around the tee box, making it obvious this is not some rare or unexpected occurrence. A warning over the loudspeaker does not fix an unsafe setup when range balls are consistently clearing the netting. Beyond the safety concerns, the course conditions have gone downhill badly compared to when I played about a year ago. The greens were extremely rough and bumpy, putting felt more like putting on cement than on maintained greens. The layout also feels overly cramped and tightly packed, which only adds to the safety concerns throughout the course. To top it off, my golf cart died before I could even finish the round. Overall the experience felt poorly maintained, overcrowded, and unsafe, which is disappointing because the course used to be in much better shape. read more

I'm not one to bash anyone with my reviews but I need to vent my frustrations. Whoever is running Alhambra Golf Course should be absolutely ashamed for letting the course deteriorate to this point. The greens are a shambles with bumps, dry/ sandy spots, and weeds growing throughout the putting surface. The rough is overgrown in certain areas, and a few bunkers are borderline unplayable. Please take some pride and at least try to put out a decent product. This is unacceptable!! DO BETTER!! read more

This review is based on the range. I enjoyed coming to this range because they have Toptracer technology for the middle and bottom bays. You can get fairly accurate statistics for each swing or if you want, you can play popular courses (for example: pebble beach & Torrey pines). My only criticism is that from the whole large bucket that I purchased, about 30% of the golf balls that I had are super worn out golf balls which wouldn't give me an accurate understanding of my golf shot (or I just stink). So much fun! Great time being able to enjoy the game of golf with friends and late into the night! The driving range at Alhambra Golf Course has three levels that accommodates many golfers at once. The two lower levels have the ability to play different games on monitors that track your shots. There is also a nice sized putting green, chipping/pitching, hole and sand trap behind the range to give you the ability to practice whatever weaknesses your game throws at you! So much fun golfing here! There's 3 levels for the driving range. Bottom floor has cushioned couches and needs reservations / need to purchase. You can utilize the middle and top floors for free. Middle floor has a screen where you can gamify the golfing. Top floor has a view and vibes. There's also a putting area with 10 holes and a slight slope behind the driving range. There's also a sand bunker area to practice as well. I haven't checked out the whole golf course yet. There's plenty of free parking, the lot is huge. read more

I've only been to the range here until recently, when I played on the actual course; the check-in process was smooth and there are bathrooms near the entrance. Parking can get full pretty quickly. Thankfully we opted for carts with our tee time, so we did not have to walk a bunch. Due to the rainy weather, we were told to drive on the cart path which we understood, but at some holes it was difficult to see a clear pathway. Our time at the golf course was fine until Hole 11, where a Guardian Community tent was set up... The dude that was there introduced himself and asked if we were interested in donating, in which we kindly declined. Bad idea. He then goes on and on, persistently asking us why and even called one of us so serious. I've never experienced someone being so pushy for donations. As someone who doesn't play golf regularly, I would honestly skip Hole 11 completely, just to avoid another rude interaction with someone from Guardian Community. The whole situation just left a sour taste in my mouth. Like seriously, you're going to call us names for kindly declining a donation. What happened to respecting our time and being professional, dude was talking while people are trying to putt. Hmmm... I did like the range for the TopTracer, but now I am reconsidering coming back. read more

The greens are in horrible condition as of 3 July 2026. Dead parts and bumpy with a lot of bare spots and even weeds growing out of them. There wasn't a single decent green. The roughs were also severely over grown and the tee boxes were also pretty bad. The fairways were okay the only kind of decent part and they weren't too great either. They really need to do something about fixing the greens there wasn't a single decent green. read more

This course reminded me a lot of Top golf since there is a screen & you can play games on there. This is outdoors & I was surprised at how clean the establishment was. I've only been to the driving range but I think its quite nice. The artificial grass is well maintained. Each stall has a chair and the middle level and bottom levels have screens to track your shots. Staff is nice too. Sometimes people smoke although it says no smoking. read more

So love the course at Alhambra/Almansor. They have really improved the driving range area....just a couple things... How about a light actually facing the practice area? How about a porta potty so user don't have to walk all the way to the Pro Shop area and leave clubs at driving range....this course makes a TON of money...cmon 1 or two potty John's. read more

Been here before for a Driver fitting at the driving range and it was a great experience, nice to meet the Srixon crew and get some new gear testing done. But today I played a nice round of golf with my two friends, great atmosphere and setting with well kept golf course. But... There was a bit of confusion with the starter calling the groups, not sure if it was really the starter or the players not understanding that being called up is like being staged in a car race. You're called up to get ready to tee off after the group in front of you tee off and clear the hole. We were a threesome and a single was supposed to join us, but when he heard his name called out he went with the group before us. Oh well. The group in front of turned out to be a group of 5 older players and they played slow, the group behind us was also a group of 5 and they were younger guys who were very impatient and started to soon behind us and were on our tail, we hadn't even tee'd off on our 2nd hole before they started yelling to hurry up. What they didn't take into consideration is that the group in front was playing very slow. The younger guys behind us got belligerent and started hitting balls at us before we could even finish our putts. Supposedly they had a course marshal RIDING with them (so he said) but he was clueless about the tee times and had no clip board or information about the groups. He kept telling us to hurry up but we were held back by the group in front of us. To say the least it put a damper on a few holes, we finally had the opportunity to talk to them (while waiting for the group in front of us to move on) and explain the situation, they had no idea that was the case. Young players need to be aware of their surroundings and not be clueless about the golf community they play in. They act privileged or just don't understand the protocol. I think they were embarrassed by their ignorant behavior because they disappeared before the 9th hole. Unfortunately that was not what we expected at this golf course and community, but there's young jerks with false bravado everywhere. I do look forward to playing here again and hopefully nothing like this happens again. read more

It's been a few weeks since my last review. I played a tournament at this course last week and I noticed an improvement. Greens were in better shape but still severely infected. I was optimistic because of the improvements. I played this course yesterday and my optimism turned to disappointment. The course took a few steps backwards. The fact that the course made improvements before last week's tournament only to see degradation a week after tells me that course management has the ability to make improvements, but for some reason is not committed to making sustained improvements that will stand the test of time. I know this course hosts a lot of junior competitions and I feel really bad for the kids who participate. I will keep posting updates, and in all fairness will report when the course takes a turn for the better. Until then, I'd recommend another course. Thanks! read more

Pretty decent driving range especially since they added the Top Tracer. It seems accurate enough and pretty close to my on course distances. Only issue is it gets SOOOO crowded and people take up the bays for a LONG time. More and more people use 1 lane with like 3-4 people like its Top Golf lol. Now I remember why I stopped going to this range. The course is always decent condition, but expensive for what it is. It's so short it's a step above an executive course. But being hilly and somewhat narrow make it harder. Main issue here are the greens. They have those weird weeds growing in them and the trees shed soooo many leaves. I play here once every few months during the week if friends want to play. Other than that it's not in the regular rotation. read more

The golf course is in terrible shape ! The whole course used to look a lot better a year ago but the new superintendent clearly doesn't know what he's doing. I ask around and it seems like he's barely at work. The cuts on the machines are also terrible I feel bad for some of the workers for the equipment they have to work with. 3 stars for the range. 1 star for the staff. Very convenient golf range with multiple levels. The mats were very old and worn out. Out of 100 balls I counted 4 that should just be thrown out in the trash for gashes. However, I did love the putting green. I usually go to Monterey Park which has a smaller green to practice on. I also had a really bad experience with an older asian gentleman who works there. He was picking up baskets and made some rude comments to me. Definitely not coming back here other than to use the practice green. I don't feel comfortable hitting golf balls if the staff is going to make rude comments to me. read more

Not even exaggerating but the greens here might be the worst i have ever played. I've been playing for 7 years and i'm a college golfer and have definitely played a lot of shit courses. But the greens, fairways and roughs here might have been the worst i have ever played. I'm not making this up, the fairways might be smoother than the greens. The greens are filled with broken patches, there are so many long pieces of grass growing out of the green, there are sand divot patches on the greens, making it impossible to putt or at least have a chance for par. Not only that, there is goose shit everywhere on the thin and high rough. No matter when i step, feels like a landmine. I was so excited to play the full 18 but left after 9. I've played here a numerous amount of times and i've always liked it, except for the goose shit that was everywhere. But i cannot believe that this course has turned into a shit hole. read more

The only downside I have for this place is that the balls are slightly more expensive compared to other driving ranges that I go to. It is about 18 dollars for 105 balls. This review is only for the driving range. I've never officially learned how to golf, but enjoy coming to the driving range to embarrass myself! It's been years since I last came to the Alhambra driving range and a lot has changed, they now have tablets to record the distance of the golf balls (unfortunately it was not available on the top floor) and they no longer offer any golf clubs for beginner players. I use to love coming to Alhambra because it was the only driving range around me that offered free clubs to borrow, but since covid it's been removed (sad... as I don't own any clubs). The range is decently managed, there's not much that catches my eye. They do have 3 floors of open area for people to practice. The service here is almost non-existent, I never really seen any workers besides the ball collector driver (This is probably just selective vision on my part). The pricing is decent... it cost $17 for the largest ball option which gives about 100 balls. My friend and I were able to play for roughly 30 minutes. Overall, a convenient spot to visit if you want to run a quick session. Nothing fancy or extraordinary that I can recall. Would come again on a weekday (it gets super busy) for some fun. read more

This def a beginners course that if you were like me and were just starting. It's a walkable course---- they only have bag carts so on a hot summer day you'll def sweat. What I love is that it's always available but it can get packed and people do golf behind you so you are kinda getting rushed. The range is pretty decent. With enough spots but could use an upgrade. The service is always good haven't had any experience where I can say it was terrible. There is nothing quite like chasing the sunset and playing 9 holes in the winter months at Alhambra Golf Course. They offer a super twilight tee time that is ten dollars a person to get about two hours of golf in if you choose to walk which is an amazing deal. A super walkable course as long as you dodge the geese poop strewn across multple fairways (their home their rules). The conditions of this course have always been solid for a muni and with Troon taking over the operations it has only gotten better. Super friendly and accomadating staff. The course is definitely on the shorter end of standard courses in the area but still fun where you can bring the driver out. As others said this is a traditonal "tale of two nines" course as the back 9 is much more hilly than the front. Overall, this is a super solid course that I enjoy playing. Also, they have a nice bunker, putting, and pitching practice area to go with their Trackman Driving Range which is super nice to have before a round. The perfect place to find, lose, tweak, find, and once again lose your golf swing and work on this fun yet maddening game we call golf. read more

My review is solely on the driving range itself. It's not too bad. They have the Top Tracer for free to track how you hit and the distance of your golf balls which is a nice touch. But I rarely come here now due to the fact that it can get so crowded especially at nighttime. It can be cumbersome when you have to wait for a range to open up or when you're playing and there's already someone waiting for you to use the range before you're even done. I don't want to feel rushed while I'm playing. I wish there's a way that they can control the crowd or maybe add more additional range so the waiting time isn't too long or you'll have someone waiting for you. Also at the very top of the driving range, there is no Top Tracer. The practice balls is pricier than usual. For $18, you only get 105 balls which is not a lot for that price. This range kinda reminds me of Top Golf except that you have to bring your own clubs. They do serve alcohol once in a while which isn't too bad. On the very bottom of the range, there are couches and table so you'll be able to bring your own food and drinks. I did see some people bring their own beer as well which I think the range allows as well. There is also a phone holder that's installed on each range BUT don't rely on those because plenty of times for my phone experience, they don't work properly. This is short and challenging course. The fairways are narrow, and big trees are waiting for you if you miss the fairway. The course is pretty well maintained as a public golf course with a lot of traffic. Putting green, chipping green, and driving range are available for practice. We did have to wait almost 30 minutes for stalls to open up but aside from the wait time everything else was pretty solid. Currently no clubs are loaned out and no chipping practice is allowed. The turf is undergoing maintenance. The driving range is older and needs some new paint. I have been going here for years, and it now changed to credit card only for golf balls. Also, the golf balls dispenser is called a "golf servant" which can be offensive. It is better to come early in the morning or else it gets too crowded. Golf lessons are reserved for the first floor. There is a big parking lot so this place is easy to access. read more
