Alhambra golf driving range and course are an excellent place to start learning how to golf…read more The range has a shot tracer that you can connect to your phone to track all of your shots. It can get quite busy during peak hours and especially in the summer. There is also an area to practice short pitch shots and a sand trap. A bucket of balls cost a bit more than the average range but the shot tracer is well worth it. The 18 hole course is a bit better than your typical muni course. Greens aren't in the best shape but they are decent for the cost of the round. There is also a proshop with all you need and more to play a round. I highly recommend Alhambra Golf course!

The driving range net near the first tee is clearly too short, and from what I experienced, this has apparently been an ongoing problem for years without meaningful changes being made. During my round I was almost hit by golf balls three separate times, including being struck by a range ball on the first tee. There were already dozens of balls scattered around the tee box, making it obvious this is not some rare or unexpected occurrence. A warning over the loudspeaker does not fix an unsafe setup when range balls are consistently clearing the netting. Beyond the safety concerns, the course conditions have gone downhill badly compared to when I played about a year ago. The greens were extremely rough and bumpy, putting felt more like putting on cement than on maintained greens. The layout also feels overly cramped and tightly packed, which only adds to the safety concerns throughout the course. To top it off, my golf cart died before I could even finish the round. Overall the experience felt poorly maintained, overcrowded, and unsafe, which is disappointing because the course used to be in much better shape.

My experience has been far better than that... more like taking 10-14 strokes off my score, after only 4 lessons. I "played golf" for decades but had never taken a lesson. I am 75-years-old. I was initially worried that the golf coach would want to correct 50+ things all at once. Larry Salmi, my coach, only focused on a couple of things things each lesson. Their technology for me is really fun and instructive. While I am still not a "par" golfer, I am, for the most part, keeping it on my fairway. A relief to others on the course, and far more fun for me. Before Golftec I think I had only had 1 par in my life. Now I am disappointed when I don't get at least one birdie and a few pars in a round!

If you are new to golf, please do yourself a favor and start your lesson with golf tec. My coach was Aaron and he was amazing, He used the golf tec to guide his teaching, but mostly he is a great coach bucause he can points out things about your golf swing behind the numbers. Don't do what I do (skip out lession in my early learning stage, and therefore have to spend the next 5 years UNlearning my swing which had become a habit). Thank you Aaron for being a great coach!

He took the time to walk me through the fundamentals step by step, and what really stood out to me was how he explained not just the how, but the why behind each movement. His ability to break down the physics of the swing in a clear, easy-to-understand way made a huge difference in how quickly I was able to grasp the basics. Beyond that, he's consistently positive and encouraging--especially when I get frustrated. He's quick to remind me to have fun and enjoy the process, which has helped me stay motivated. Every session is well-structured, and he always follows up with drills and a practice plan so I know exactly what to work on between lessons. Even outside of our sessions, he's responsive and generous with his time. I've texted him questions I forgot to ask during our lessons, and he always replies with helpful advice. If you're looking for an instructor who's not only knowledgeable but also genuinely invested in your progress, I can't recommend Nowndale enough.

I love the fact that the lessons are indoor and has cameras so that he can show me and I can see what I need to change and work on. AND there's free parking !! Something I was worried about with getting lessons was not getting my money's worth. Sometimes instructors can be very chatty and I don't feel like I'm getting an actual full hour's worth of a lesson. If that is something you're concerned about, please consider Nowndale! Every time I come in for a lesson, it is jam packed with information and practice time. He really focuses on the lesson and your improvement. I feel very comfortable asking him questions (even if they feel silly) and he'll kindly answer and help me understand. I really have nothing negative to say. I have had 5 lessons and each one has been a very positive experience. I still have a lot to learn, but I can definitely say I have improved a lot since starting lessons.

These are basic management responsibilities, not something customers should have to request. Last Saturday, the office confirmed that the next scheduled player was two hours after me, yet different players appeared at the 3rd, 12th, and 16th holes. The manager responded as though this was something people should not do but was not actually a problem. The repeated disruptions were unpleasant, and the manager's dismissive attitude made the experience even worse. I found the entire experience extremely frustrating and uncomfortable. Customers who reserve and pay have a right to a properly managed round without disruptions caused by poor course management. That is a basic expectation, not special treatment. A quiet course is no excuse to disregard operating procedures or leave customers to resolve playing-order problems themselves. Both the management practices and the response to customer concerns must improve.

This one-star review is not directed at Eaton Canyon as a golf course, restaurant, bar, or driving…read morerange. It is specifically about the young brunette woman with a terrible attitude who works at the front desk and consistently displays a rude and unprofessional attitude. I do not know her name, and this is not a personal attack--it is simply an honest account for anyone visiting Eaton Canyon. I'll bet just by my brief description, young brunette woman with a shitty attitude, the existing staff knows exactly who I'm talking about. My brother and I have spent thousands of dollars here this year alone. We come nearly every weekend, spend generously at the bar, and always follow the rules. We've never once tried to sneak food, drinks, or free rounds. This past weekend we prepaid for our morning tee time through Golf Now. At check-in, we also requested a replay round for the afternoon and a bucket of balls to warm up. The gentleman checking us in charged me, I tapped my phone to pay, and we went on our way. No issues. After finishing our morning round, we had lunch at the bar. When we returned for our afternoon round, while waiting at the 1st tee, the young woman at the clubhouse shouted from a distance, "The cart return is over there." My brother replied, "We're not returning the cart--we're about to play our round." She yelled back, "You didn't pay. You have to pay or leave now." I calmly walked over to her to sort things out, but she was immediately argumentative and confrontational. She raised her voice at my brother and refused to listen to me as I tried to explain. I told her respectfully that if there was a miscommunication and our replay round had not been paid, I had no problem paying again. The gentleman working alongside her handled the situation professionally. I showed him the charge on my phone, and he even called the staff member who checked us in earlier. During this process, the young brunette came back out and told us, "I'm done with you. You guys need to get out of here. Dead ass. You guys need to get out of here or I'll call the cops." She then grabbed the gentleman by the arm, pushed him inside the clubhouse, and slammed the door in our faces. To be clear, I never cursed or raised my voice. My brother and I were calm and sober. This was completely uncalled for. After this, we respectfully drove the golf cart to my car. Loaded our bags and then returned the cart to the designated area. I want to reiterate that this review is not aimed at anyone else at Eaton Canyon. Ruby, Jason, Theodora, and every other staff member we've met have always been 100% professional and welcoming. We get along with many regulars + members and have even been invited to join the club. Up until this incident, our experience with staff, crew, and fellow guests has always been excellent. That is why this situation is so disappointing. It is unusual and concerning that Eaton Canyon management would allow someone with such a consistently unprofessional attitude to represent the front desk. On the day in question, she was even dressed unprofessionally in a Cowboys jersey--not in Eaton Canyon attire. I encourage management to review the security footage, speak to the bar staff, and evaluate the reputation my brother and I have built at this course versus the behavior of this one employee. I can understand miscommunication and frustration, but no guest should ever be treated the way we were--with rudeness, shouting, and threats. Eaton Canyon is a wonderful course with a great staff, but this one individual damages the experience for loyal customers.
