Arroyo Seco is a great course to work on your game. The starters and groundskeepers are always courteous and friendly. The driving range, putting greens, and mini golf are nice, too. The golf course is nestled in a quiet neighborhood. The fairways and greens are in good condition and are well-maintained. Irrigation is good,too. We played during a rain shower and I played so well. No flooding. The undulating greens are super challenging for having short holes. The longest hole would have to be the 15th. The pond is on the right and the trail is above on your left, too. Sometimes I think someone is angry when they're selecting where to place the pins, especially on the third. Who hurt you? LOL Today, it was the third, fifth and the fourteenth. The greens definitely have a lot of character. The fairways are kept, too. The little creeks between the holes are awesome, and the pond between the fourteenth and fifteenth holes always have beautiful swans and ducks in or around them. If you're looking to squeeze in a game so you can relax and have some quiet time, Arroyo Seco is the course where you'll want to be. read more

I played the full 18 here with a couple of buddies from work and wasn't sure what to expect as it was my first time playing here. I was treated to an amazing little 18 hole course that really really challenges your short game. I will advise some caution however since tea boxes in fairways and greens are all in close quarters make sure your head is on a swivel or it might end up on a stretcher. This place is a hidden gem! First time was on a Sunday morning and it wasn't crowded. I figure everyone was watching football. It's very picturesque, with a nice water way and a tiny pond you normally see ducks in. I wasn't sure what to expect but to my delight it was great! I think the fairways and greens were fine and well maintained, especially for a public course. Kudos to the maintenance team. The greens were smooth and well kept. They weren't easy! It is a little on the narrow side, but since they are shorter holes and a lot of tree coverage I wasn't worried. The tree coverage is key here. The whole park area has so many things to offer. I've never seen a place like this in the LA area. From what I saw, it has a dog park, awesome walking trails, horse trails, pickleball courts, miniature golf and batting cages from what I saw, so fun for the whole family! Arroyo Seco is without a doubt one of my very favorite courses to play in the area. Yes, it's a par 3, but I can guarantee it's in better shape, and more fun to play, than probably any other par 3 you've seen. The tee boxes are all mats, but that's ok. The fairways are well kept, the greens are immaculate and challenging (more on that later), there are plenty of mature trees around the course for generous amounts of shade, while still allowing plenty of room for good golf shots. There's a tiny little creek and a very small pond on the course, but I wouldn't even call them hazards. The course has zero bunkers. Couple of tips based on having played here at least 15 or 20 times so far. First, bring some of the re-usable golf matt flat tees. You can buy them at the pro shop or online for not much. Second, although it is a par 3, there's a 145-yard hole on the back 9, and a few in the 125-135 yard range, so manage your club selection accordingly. If you want to bring your full bag, they have push carts available for minimal rental fee. Lastly, as mentioned before, the greens themselves are UNUSUALLY challenging. They have a lot of terrain, and the pin placement is typically on the cruel side. If there's a major roll-off point on the green, you can count on the pin being right there at the edge. So study the topography well before you take your shot for the green. Lastly, there's a wonderful putting green, an excellent full-sized driving range that has lighting in the evening hours, and a pro shop that sells a reasonable assortment of balls, gloves, tees, green repair tools, and drinks. Great little par-3 course that's perfect for sharpening your short game. Every hole is a par 3, so don't come expecting to use your driver--but if you're looking to work on short irons, wedges, and putting this place delivers. Highlight of the round? I witnessed my wife drain a hole-in-one--so yeah, this course now has a permanent spot in our memories. The greens are just okay--not the best but more than playable. The course layout loops back on itself in a few places, so keep your eyes open and maybe wear a helmet... err, I mean, just be aware of flying golf balls. The golf course is amazing, they do have a area where you can buy drinks and snacks (it's at the same place where you buy a code to get golf balls). The person was very welcoming and friendly despite there being no nearby food place it was still amazing. Altadena and other places have a restaurant but that didn't stop me from having fun with my friend. This golf course was very inspiring and while it was warm outside it made me feel very healthy and important. I look forward to visiting again. read more

I had 3 reservations today that were back to back and we all got to the course on time. First reservation was for 3 people and the next reservation was for 2. One of the workers who was this short skinny jerk of a guy with curly long-ish hair and glasses decided that he was going to split our first group of 3. There was a group ahead of us who came late so he wanted 2 of us go with another late group at our original time. Then he wanted the odd man out to play by themselves. So he wanted us to play 2-1-2 which didn't make sense especially if that's not how I reserved it. We played our game together but took it upon himself to stop our game on the first hole and held us up for 5 mins just to explain why we need to split up our group of 3. Then this employee of the month candidate ran onto the fifth hole with a golf club in his hand, to "protect" himself from us. He proceeds to try to explain his flawed reasoning again, and then eventually copped out and runs back to his little office when he realized after I told him AGAIN I have the 3 reservations back to back and the group he wanted us to join did not want to have random people join their group. I have three people in my group that were excited to golf for the first time and they really wanted to come to this course, but this guy basically completely ruined it for them. This guy needs some serious help or at least switch to decaf. Should have asked for a refund since he ruined our game. Mind you he was telling us to skip multiple holes like buddy I paid to play all 18 holes, I already had to skip 3 holes because of his mess up. Never coming again. Workers don't know proper etiquette and clearly instead of accommodating the reservations they try to force people to join other groups so they can squeeze more people out on the course. read more

Short Review: Conveniently-located 18- hole 3-par golf course with an accompanying driving range and 9-hole miniature golf course. Long Review: This course has a special place in my heart. I grew up playing miniature golf here as a little kid, then took my first "big girl" lessons when I was 8 years old. I came here with a friend recently to warm up on the driving range ahead of a golf tournament we were playing in. A bucket of balls is reasonably priced and there's plenty of space to hit away. The executive course is beautiful but not challenging. If you're looking to just catch up with friends, then I'd recommend it. And of course, the miniature golf is a fun celebration for a kids party, or adults acting like kids. read more

My daughter and I had a fantastic fun time playing miniature golf here. The guy in the check out booth was awesome, even wished my daughter a happy birthday, super nice. Don't know the guy's name in the check out booth, but again big thank you! The course is small, but fun, well kept up, clean, and has some challenging holes. The other kids playing there were having a blast and were very nice, offer us to play through. I think this will be our annual stop for our daughter's birthday for years to come! 9 hole mini golf was fun for kids but course is not well maintained. There are rips near the holes where the balls are supposed to roll into so there's more unpredictability and gardener was spraying everything down before we played, causing a large puddle in a part of the course. Our golf balls kept falling into the brown puddle and then we had to use our hands to pick up the golf balls after hitting them in the hole. Yuck. Bring disposable gloves... Ant Hill is crazy difficult and it's only the 3rd hole lol Adult and child admission rate is the same. Parking lot available. read more

Pros: Very few people when we played. The course is extremely clean. The holes are somewhat difficult which added to the fun. Cons: while clean, the holes and the castles, windmills, etc., are somewhat dated and worn but still fun. It was pretty expensive for a dated and very short course. Would I go again? I came to Arroyo Seco for the golf, but stayed for the comedy. Gerardo is a legend. He even made me, a die-hard mini-golf enthusiast, consider picking up a real club. It's a great golf course but the people who work there are terrible. I called and scheduled a tee time and they asked me want i wanted to play front or back 9, I didn't want to play the full 18. So I said the back 9, then when I got there they charged me the full 18 and when I confronted fronted them they said I called for the full 18. But that wasn't true but they did reimburse me for that, but when I went to the back 9 to start my round they told me I couldn't play that, then I responded with the man who took my payment said I could and they asked me on the phone. Then they got really rude and aggressive, which completely ruined the round. Especially when they try to intimidate you and kinda push you to leave. So have fun playing and try avoiding the people working there. read more

It's fun little par 3 course hidden in South Pasadena. I took my son there to practice for a tournament and I got to work on my short game. Greens are full of moon shot holes but what par 3 course isn't? This is a great pace to play with your youngsters who want to learn the game. We had one stray drive land next to us, but that is to be expected as you're playing a small course and hence there are lots of amateurs. Just keep your head on a swivel and stay aware of the other golfers while you're out there and you'll be fine. read more

I show up today at 5pm to just get a little round in to show a friend some swing tips on the course, and they're charging $30!!!!! for a 5pm tee time, and the sun is already setting!!! on golf now website the tee time is going for $19. this is just insane to me, that the course was charging that amount at that time. smh read more

This review is just for the mini-golf. It was 9 holes and wasn't too crowded on a Sunday afternoon so we didn't have to wait too long between each hole. Pros: $7 per person ($4 for a second round) and plenty of parking. Cons: The course is messily built and old. My ball bounced back out of the hole at almost every hole and don't let me get started on the 3rd hole... It was super frustrating! It's not a difficult hole but it is built badly. It's slanted so you basically end up taking shots from the same spot whenever you miss. All the other holes took me ~3 shots but this one took me 25 LOL I haven't tried any other mini golf courses in LA but I have in other cities and those have been way better. This is probably better for kids. read more

I've been in South pasadena all my life, this place has always been a little rough but now it's not even looked after. Ripped greens, Debris all over the greens, some of the holes done work so they have rocks over them. It be worth it for $5 but $11 is a joke. I hope they can give this place some TLC. read more

This golf course used to be a welcoming and fun place. In the 30 years I've been coming to this golf course, as long as you had your own putter and ball, you could play the mini golf course for free. Mind you I was planning on purchasing a bucket of balls and potentially nine hole rounds for me and my 13 yr old daughter who I was introducing the game of golf too by starting with a few mini golf holes Low and behold someone comes out and tells us to check in first as if we're teeing off on the greens. Half of the mini golf course holes are falling apart and it's not like my greens fees are going into the mini course anyway. I was noticeably annoyed but since my daughter wanted to play I went up to the window to pay the measly $11 per person. Some "professional" looking man under a hoody stated I didn't have to be there if I didn't want to be. He was rude and obviously hated his life and instead of choosing to be kind and defuse an upset customer, kicked me and my 13 yr old daughter out of there. I guess if I was a grown man working behind a cage at a golf course, I'd be an A-hole too. Way to go! We'll never go back. read more

Its a shame this course does not support the future of golf, our kids. Its a par 3 and mini golf set up, why not? My daughters now 12, we live near this course but never plays it. Its been a couple years, probably since the last time I wrote a review for this course. She was 10 back then , and the staff there wanted her to go out and play by herself since that was their policy. I ended up paying like $30 to walk with her. I tried to tell them I dont play golf, I dont even own clubs. I took my daughter there recently to hit some overpriced YOC balls (other courses its $2 for a medium bucket) and asked if their policy was the same? its still the same! They dont have any restrictions of letting a 9 or 10 year old go by themselves but would charge their mom or dad the full price to supervise. Why not a separate spectator fee? like $10-$15. Ive seen other full size course do that. Overpriced and not kid friendly. Go to Arcadia Par 3, theyre a better deal and lit at night as well! read more

As I was driving down Monterey Rd, my car was struck by an errant golf ball from the driving range. The netting they have is clearly not working. It only dented my hood but was close to coming through windshield or drivers side window. Fix your netting! read more
