I went in for my first time with a slight idea of what I wanted, but with no set plan but a basic concept. I have been dying my hair for years and find many places in NYC and CT at best to be "Satisfying." Thankfully, I met Ty. This was my best single process, with high and low lights that came out naturally and better than I had even imagined. I had Ty as my stylist. He is a CAN NOT MISS stylist. After showing him a picture and telling him what I wanted, what I never wanted to happen and giving a bit of input. Tyrone came back to me and looked over my ever lasting Grey hairs (at the age of 24), my past build up from coloring and immediately went to work. My hair came out perfectly colored with the most natural looking high lights and low lights I have ever seen. Two parts that I never even would have considered. It was the perfect experience. A beautiful and relaxing atmosphere, unbelievably peaceful, and the stylists and staff at Andrew Stefanou are pleasant and respect. In total making my perfect Saturday. I've had multiple wonderful experiences at this salon/spa. Dee does my lashes. I've had some allergy issues but she's patiently worked with me, relashing as needed and even ordering special glue for my eyes. Paula has cut my hair twice now with excellent results both times. I have very dense, thick, short hair and often can't even find someone who wants to cut it, but she attacked it with gusto! She has a terrific eye and will style and shape your hair to maximize your features. Let her do what she wants...you won't regret it! I took my mother there for a haircut by Paula and she loves it. This is the first haircut she's liked outside her regular guy in NYC in years. She gave my mom's hair a stylish chin bob with great swing. To top it off, Sylvana then gave my mom a medicinal pedicure, treating the nail fungus that has prevented my mother from getting pedicures for years. Sylvana was sweet and gentle with my mom and made her feel really good despite her not so great looking feet. Really appreciated her care and compassion. Overall, this is an excellent salon. The people are lovely and very capable, and the atmosphere is relaxing. They have a wide range of clients, from toddlers for first haircut to long-standing men and women loyal for years. I don't typically write any reviews, but I definitely had to take the time out of my hectic day to write this one. After going to this supposed "high end" salon; they left my hair super brittle from the dye of the highlights- not even drugstore chemicals have made my hair feel like this in the past when I've done it myself. I decided to treat myself however, and this has made me highly skeptical of either the quality of their hair suppliers- or the lack of hair dye training the stylists have. Looking back- instead of paying $300+ I rather of just paid $60 and did it myself. On top of it all, when time came for the actual hair styling part, someone, I think it may have been the owner or something who was eavesdropping on my appointment and put his two cents in out of the blue with his bright idea of using the hair thinning shears for " layered look" and the end result was just nothing as I had hoped for. I had the pleasure of working with Jasellynne Morrow and instantly knew that I would want to come back. After years of getting low-budget hair cuts and color I was treated to Andrew Stefanou Salon & Spa. I had a wonderful experience getting my hair cut and colored by Jasellynne and when the color didn't come out exactly as I wanted she was more than accommodating. I was able to come back for touch-ups with no extra cost. The only downside is that my budget doesn't allow for me to always get such a fantastic hair experience. Craig is the best! People often ask me who does my cut and highlights and the reason is Craig. Craig has done my hair for 9 years. He is a great listener and asks questions to make sure he understands what I want. He also makes suggestions and explains why he wants to make any changes. I trust him completely. Three years ago, Craig convinced me to switch from foil highlights to Balayage. I was hesitant at first. Balayage refers to the process of sweeping color onto hair using a paddle versus using foils. Balayage gives the colorist more freedom to place color where he/she chooses, unlike foils which can be much more precise. It's great for highlights and for coloring my grays because Craig can cover the gray strands rather than having to color the entire head. The result is natural looking highlights and depth of color. I am thrilled with the results. read more

The only advantage to a pedicure at Stefanie's is the private room. The pedicure lasts an hour as promised. The cost was not as promised- $65 instead of $55 quoted on the phone. The desk attendant said my pedicurist was senior, but the service was mediocre at best. The ladies at the desk are not service oriented at all. I will not go back. read more

I came to this spa a few months ago for a facial with Zeenat Sheikh, I had such a great experience. She carries herself so elegantly and with such grace, and applies that same nature to her clients as well. I really could not have asked for a better person to handle my skin. I definitely recommend Zeenat and will ask for her specifically when I come back. The salon is clean, a comfortable temperature and the air smells great. I had a relaxing facial where I could have been left to take a nap if I did not to leave my appointment! Although this salon is a little on the expensive side the quality of work and environment makes it worth every penny. I have my wedding next month and if time permits, I would love to get another facial treatment :) read more

I was referred to this shop but haven't heard much about it previously. I decided to make an appointment and give it a go since I grew my hair out for a year and cut it in Philadelphia in February, so I didn't have a local barber and I wasn't sure how I felt about getting it cut locally. Upon entering I enjoyed how nice the place was and was talked to quick. I had an appointment for Vlas and arrived a little early. I had another appointment ahead of me but Vlas cut him so quick I hardly had to wait. The best part was that he gave me an amazing cut and it came out perfectly. I asked for "the uptown cut, with the downtown fade" and Vlas knew exactly what I was talking about. Great experience all around. read more

I had such a positive experience this afternoon with Silvana. I had a waxing service, a manicure, and a pedicure and couldn't be more pleased. Silvana was kind and created a comforting, safe, and nonjudgmental atmosphere. This was my first experience with this particular waxing service and I hadn't received a pedicure in several months! I felt pampered throughout and left feeling truly rejuvenated. Another kind woman brought me a cup of coffee during my services too. Everyone was so kind. I've been coming to this salon for a handful of years now and had my hair highlighted recently and was super happy with this as well. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who did my hair so I could give her a special shout out too. Bottom line, I've never been disappointed and now I'm excited to try even more of their salon services. The salon is clean and their customer service is top notch. First time here & happy with our experience minus one issue. Booked a facial for my mom & massage for myself, went in mid-afternoon and was greeted right away. The salon side seems to be much busier than the spa side but none the less we were checked in & shown the lounge room as well as the changing area. Decor & cleanliness were noticed and carried throughout the spa. I was taken first for my massage by Deidre while my mom waited in the lounge room for her esthetician. Deidre was thorough in asking pre-massage questions, paid attention to detail & gave a phenomenal massage! Highly recommend her! As I exited I noticed the my mom still wasn't done with her facial. After waiting almost 40 minutes after my appointment finished & multiple trips to the front desk asking her status she finally emerges. She was taken 35 minutes late because the previous client showed up late. My mom did mention that I was waiting and asked that I be notified that they were running behind. No one mentioned this to me. All in all, a gentlemen (who I believe was the owner) was very receptive to the issue and tried to accommodate us the best he could by giving us a discount off her services. The woman behind the desk was less pleasant. While we will return again as services were great, we hope to have better turn around times & communication. read more

This was an absolute nightmare! Do not use Kristina (Tina). She is a horrible hair colorist. I spent almost 2 years growing my hair out to have a nice natural looking balayage/ombre color done. I showed her many pictures of what I wanted. It seemed that she was confident and knew what to do. I trusted her! I ended up with the worst botched hair I have ever seen! After my hair was dried she took me back to fix it but that didn't work. I ended up leaving thinking its just me, ill give it a day. Well, it didn't take long before I had people asking me what the hell happened to my hair! The next day I went back in and asked to have it fixed by someone else. While I was having it fixed, the owner came up to me and said he felt so bad and was hoping I would return after he saw me walk out looking like that. But he didn't want to insult me, just in case that is what I asked for. So the other girl did her best and put a glaze over my entire head of hair to tone down and blend everything. It worked but was not great. She assured me with one more visit I would get the desired look so I scheduled one more appointment with her. Well, to make a long story short, I ended up blonde root to tip!. I was so mad! but what could I do! I walked out and will NEVER return again! I spent months growing my hair out and ended up going to another salon to have my hair color corrected back to my natural hair color. My hair is damaged, fried, not the color I want, short because I ended up chopping off as much as I could! And the most irritating thing about it all, is when Tina was confronted about it she said that is what I wanted! I would like to find her and bleach that crap out of her hair and then chop it all off! These are suppose to be professionals! Tina does not have any skills! I recently went to Andrew Stefanou for a single process color, cut and blow out. I'm new to CT from NYC, so I'm used to having a lot of options for great salons at reasonable prices - which are not as abundant in CT as in NYC. I was VERY pleased with the service, the staff, and the approach to my hair care. My colorist was awesome - suggested a different approach to my color which was smart and thoughtful and in the long run, much better for my hair! I will definitely going back. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is that it was a little bit expensive, but not outrageous at all for the quality of care. Highly recommend. read more

Great salon in every way! I followed my hair stylist Jasellynne from NYC to this salon (yes, she's that good.) and have not been disappointed. All of the staff are professional and welcoming and the space is beautiful and comfortable.I've had two different people shampoo my hair and both had a great touch and were thorough and skilled. The shampoo chairs are more comfortable than any I've sat on because they don't force your neck back into that horrible, broken bend. The owner and staff are all nice and everyone appears to get along--no underlying tension or nonsense. I'd definitely recommend this place and especially Jasellynne. She's very talented, professional, listens and understands what you're saying, knows the trends, is great at styling and color and does a fantastic job. I don't know if this is really "Good for Kids" but I did see a precocious 6 year old girl very patiently having her hair done. read more

I had not heard anything about this salon I wish I could give a ZERO star but when you first walk in it looks so fancy with waterfall decor and chic looking. Well that is the only thing that was good about this place. I got ripped off was overcharged and am very upset. They are aware of my issues with the horrible job that was done but Andrew doesn't seem to care. All he wants is to grab all the money from unsuspecting clients. Tell them he will fix it and never does. Meanwhile he's driving his fancy sports cars and us ladies are walking in giving this place our hard earned money hoping to be better looking when you leave. I have had major skin problems like acne scarring and dark pigmentation i have been trying to get rid of for many years. I have been to several different dermatologist's and also had many laser treatmeants for my dark spots,but they keep coming back. I used many skin care lines but nothing had helped. However, ever since i had my first facial with Zeenat and started using their medical skin care line, i have seen a huge improvement in my skin.
