A Sure Thing? I think NOT. I Grew up in New Jersey and I know what a true diner is.. I sat down and some hobo bugged me for money for almost 5 minutes. I had to yell at him to get him to leave me alone. THEN the woman in charge said."why didn't you tell me?" I don't know, maybe it's YOUR JOB to get hobo's out of your establishment, not mine. Then I asked for a triple-decker turkey bacon sandwich, (super common in ANY diner menu,) There was no virtually Bacon, No Turkey, only some soggy lettuce and a mild trace of a tomato. I wouldn't eat that. I was going to complain to the owner but what did I see?? I saw the waitress pleading to the owner in advance, justifying herself. (Side note, I've worked in Manhattan for 15 years assisting customers, I would NEVER do that.) Instead of getting a proper dish My food was taken away, even after I pried my sandwich apart to show there was no turkey/meat in my sandwich. the woman in charge would rather listen to the waitress than LOOK at my dish. The gentleman who is usually in charge would NEVER let a dish like that slide. I used to come here to watch baseball games, to enjoy good food, Heck, I met Corey Booker here once. It truly is a shame to see the shambles this place has become. The owners have lost touch with their customers. it is a true shame. Don't even waste your time. Even on a good day, the food order is always wrong. I've been coming here for almost a decade... it's getting worse every year. Sorry to the two good waitresses who work there. I'm really sorry... If you want to get alcohol after-hours, then fine. Heck, they won't even I.D. you. I grew up in New Jersey, diners is what a NJ person does. Just spare yourself and DON'T GO HERE E.V.E.R. Don't get me wrong the food, it was above average 4/5 , the area was 3/5, the service was 2/5, but what got me to give this place a 1/5 was this guy who seemed to be a manager was ripping people off. I had just gotten out of a party and it was obvious that i had a little more to drink and he saw that, so when I went to pay with my card he was acting get sketchy and have me the receipt to sign and I noticed he had charged me 6$ dollars more, and when I noticed it he was like oh no it's 19.70$ and I got louder saying no it was 13.70$ where he pulled out the check and said "okay yes I give you 6$ out of cash register" (yes couldn't barely spoke English) where I responded "you give me my money first then I will sign" at this point he was getting angry with me as if I was trying to screw up his night. Then just as I was signing the bill and he was opening the cash register to give me my money, a kid maybe 16 years old runs in frantic yelling to call the cops be cause someone is getting jumped outside, rather than simply calling the cops, he decides to throw the kid out. I really hope this guy gets fired in the future, and if anyone who works there is reading this it was a short older male, no hair. read more

I lived in the Ironbound for years and always came here as a kid! I went back and seen that it's still owned by the same family which was a breathe of fresh air! Food was delicious as it always was ..but make sure you order to share because their portions are huge! I ordered the Penne Vodka with Chicken and they gave me garlic bread on the house (they made it on Portuguese roll for me because you can only get these rolls in the Ironbound!) You would never think a diner knows their Italian cooking but believe me, it deserves 5+ stars! Had the strawberry cheesecake for dessert which tasted as amazing as it looked! Again, a huge portion! I have been coming to this diner since I was a kid! The great food along with the staff is what I keep coming back for, the owner Jorge is a treat in itself and he can cook up a storm!! On most days during lunch he'll give u a taste of whatever he's cooking while you wait for your order off of their extensive menu! Some of my favorites are hands down the beef brisket with mash potatoes, tuna melts and the vodka penne with chicken which is to die for! Try one of their Greek dessert specialties to top off your meal and you too will be coming here for years to come! read more

This is my favorite place to eat! I admit, I am a usual and just recently they started DELIVERING! how amazing? a diner that delivers! This diner has been here for over 30 years and they are 24 hours! doesnt get better than that! They have also recently added pizza! The delivery and dine-in is amazing! the food is awesome. the service is great and I love that this is a family business so its always a warm welcoming feeling. Every single time I'm home be after deployments or just popping my head up in jersey I hit up Andros diner because of their food and family atmosphere there... The best part of the whole meal is when I eat their cheesecake after an amazing entrie, it's just yummy yummy in my tummy!!! haven't had as much of a warm welcoming in any diner as I had ad Andros. The service there had given us appropriate attention not to neglect our consistent requests. Coming from the hospitality industry myself I know how demanding it is especially in the back of the house. So I have to give it up to the cook who managed to keep my burger medium rare and the fries crispy after ordering more than a handful of items at our table. Andros diner is my favorite diner in the tri-state area! As a NJ native, I ate there all the time with my family & friends! The disco fries with my friends late night are out of this world! I moved to NYC 19 years ago & Andros is STILL my GO TO Restaurant!!!! Andros Diner in newark has the best food. the best people. the best staff and it feels like home. Delivery is the best thing they ever did!! Everytime I order, it's as delicious as perfect as eating it right after it's cooked! My favorite is the veggie lasagna when its on special, stuffed peppers, brisket on Tuesdays and their italian chicken panini! Great employees and staff but Andros serves very typical, average diner food. The only real negative thing about Andros Diner is their prices. The food is not expensive in the grand scheme of things, especially when compared to a nice restaurant, but it is quite overpriced when you consider the fact that it is just a diner that serves very average food. read more

Andros Diner is one of the best friendly fun energentic hang out spot.... Their food are very good, the waitress are very friendly, the manager is a fun guy....
