Great late night place located in the Ironbound section of newark. Their fried food is always made to perfection. Their paninis and burgers are pretty good. I was a big fan of their Cuban panini! Terrible food for delivery! A bunch of coworkers and I ordered lunch from here for the first time today, and several of us actually threw away some of our food, it was just so bad. The fries were soggy, the "boneless chicken wings" were just soggy, breaded chicken scraps, and the "buffalo sauce" on them was horrible. One person ordered a chocolate cheesecake and they got chocolate cake instead. And this may be nitpicking, but any Italian will agree with me on this one: their soup section has a menu item called "Pasta Fagul". We all decided we'll never order from here again. read more

I'm local and rarely go here. In fact, I'll only go for a basic breakfast or late night sandwich or burger only if I have to. I don't recommend ordering anything obscure other than the basic stuff. Their food is sub par, the service is TERRIBLE, servers just don't care. I'm a generous tipper but this place only gets the bare minimum out of me. The only thing they got going on is 24 hour service, unless it's 3am I recommend going elsewhere for food, specially with so many fantastic restaurants nearby. While the food is good, something happened that I can not let go. I was charged twice the marked price for something. I would normally think, okay, maybe it was an older menu, but I got the price from their slice.com listing AND my copy of the menu. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!! My husband and I had got one of those restaurant.com gift certificates for here and when we got there I let the girl know we would be using it. She said she would just check something with the manager. The manager said no they don't accept them anymore. So she explains that they canceled these certificates ages ago with the company and if I call them they should get refunded the money. My Turkey dinner arrived out with items missing as it was listed on the menu, the vegetables had obviously been reheated several times in the microwave oven because they had that reheated taste. The Turkey was slices from a cold cuts counter and the mash was that cheap add the water mix! The stuffing, was well I am not sure what the heck it was but it wasn't stuffing, there was big chunks of something in it and it was not bread, it was hard and lumpy! NOT NICE at all!! My husband said the wrap was OK! He said there was way too much sauce in it, so he actually poured half the sauce out of it....yes I did say poured! There was that much sauce in it that when he moved it sideways the sauce just slid on out! I thought the manager would have at least offered to give us a discount for the mistake with the gift certificate. However, she was just rude and did not care! To add to the low level of service, customer care and food....the TV they had on for customers was playing the Disney Channel. Of all channels to have on in a place where ADULTS are eating?!?!!? Came here late night with some friends and LOVED my disco fries! The taste was so good

We went here on a whim before heading to the airport for a flight. There is street parking out front which is free on Sundays so we lucked up and parked right outside. It was a "seat yourself" situation which I love personally. We ordered from the breakfast menu which was extensive but nothing compared to the lunch menu which had so many choices. I had the French toast bacon and eggs and everything was cooked to perfection. We ordered cheesecake to go and I haven't tasted it yet but it looks amazing. Our waitress was amazing The only reason that I didn't give a 5 star rating is because they seemed short staffed for sure. From what I saw there were only 3 waitresses in the entire place, which had a steady flow of customers coming in. If they had just a few more employees on staff at the time, the wait time to order and receive our food would've been shorter. Food is nothing special and kinda overpriced and the place serves as a watering hole for the local hobos late at night (the diner serves alcohol well after the bars have closed). Been coming to this place for a few months now on my walk home and I've got to say... they got the best milkshake at 3 in the morning. My BF and I went here on Valentine's Day for brunch. We found this place after discovering the wait at Tops was 50 minutes. Andros had no wait and cute, cozy seating. Andros has THE BEST french toast we have ever eaten. It was perfect in every way. We also ordered an omelette, coffee, delicious hot chocolate, and muffin. Everything came out quickly, staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the prices can't be beat. The waitress was really nice! They carry most diner classics, and I love both their breakfast and lunch specials. The lunch specials menu changes daily, and it comes with a cup of their delicious soups. Apart from their varied list of daily specials, my favorite meal is the Ironbound burger, named after our neighborhood. Although it might not be a very good reason to go there, Andro's appears briefly, along with other buildings of the five corners, in the Spielberg's movie 'War of the Worlds'. Typical New Jersey diner. This place has your standard diner menu and is open 24/7 but they are def unique because they serve alcohol until 3am. People actually leave bars at 2 and continue to drink here until 3. Another unique feature is downstairs is a pizzeria. You can only get pizza delivered in Ironbound or eat it in andros or get take out from andros. I haven't had the pizza yet but it seems very popular in Ironbound. The inside of the diner is cute and cozy and has that diner look and feel to it. I stopped in for lunch with a co-worker and I hadn't been there in a very long time. I had the broccoli-cheddar omelette and my co-worker and the Andros omelette. It took a long time to receive our lunch orders even though the place was almost empty. Omelettes shouldn't take that long but it seemed like 20-25 minutes. The omelettes were fine. My co-worker thought her omelette was a bit on the cool side and not hot enough. Coffee was ok. The service was acceptable and friendly even though the waitress didn't give us any jam with the toast and we had to ask twice for water. The place was clean and warm especially since outside was brutally cold with snow everywhere. Prices were very good compared to another diner in the area that charges outlandish money.
