"Bad teeth run in our family" is something my my whole family can attest to. I've seen my fair share of dentists as I've moved around a lot in my adult life. I've never been excited for a dentist appointment. I'm not the least bit embarrassed by my smile, on the contrary, I'm pretty happy with it. But if I could skip ever sitting in those lounge chairs of terror again- I would. In a heartbeat. I broke a tooth. It's been a couple months now. I saw 2 other dentists, I wait MONTHS for both appointments: and I don't know about you, but when it comes to medical stuff- I trust my gut. I was NOT letting them touch me. Long story short, it turned into an emergency over the weekend. I was awake all night with a swollen face, what felt like a kitchen knife stabbed into my gums and no relief. At 8:01 I called Willow Run and told them I was dying (not in those words, but..) it went something like this: Lady (Jenn I think): Hi thank you for calling Willow Run Dental how can I help you? Me: hi, I have an emergency. I have a broken tooth. Jenn: Are you a patient of ours? Me: No, my dentist is in Florida. Jenn: ok, well we don't have any appointments with a doctor today, but we could get you into a hygienist chair.. *no, she's in pain!* (I think she was vouching for me to a coworker) ok, we can get you in at 9:20. If you could come early to fill out paperwork that'd be great. Me: already on the way there. So, I walk in- the door opens and the angel at the front, Debora, says in a sweet soothing voice: "hi there, you must be our new patient." (While doves flutter from her shoulders and stars twinkle in her eyes. I'm not kidding, she's pure sugar.) At this point I'm thinking "ok, Hannibal Lecter could be the dentist at this point and I'd come back just for Debora. The waiting area is small, but she sure does make it feel homey. The door pops open at 9:20, as promised, and JoJo the hygienist of the century waves me into her cubical and I'm immediately at ease. She reminds me of the cool mom everyone loves because she makes the best snacks and you can tell her all your problems and she doesn't judge you. She was so delicate and kind, and when your tooth is thumping and your mouth might explode- being delicate is a big deal. Also; she ASKED ME WHAT I WANTED-- nobody ever does that, they just tell you what your choices are and make you pick. Very important. Ok, so, I'm feeling pretty confident in my choice so far. And in walks Dr. Schneider. She has soft hands, but a very firm, confident handshake- but, best of all- she doesn't shake your hand and drop it. She holds it for a second. I'm a firm believer in reading someone by their handshake. I could tell she's confident and particular, but caring. She took a look at my mouth, reassured me that everything except my broken tooth looked good and then-- she ASKED ME WHAT I WANTED to have done, again I say-- nobody ever asks anymore! Dr Schneider and JoJo spent time going over my current issues, explaining what it meant for me, offered me immediate pain relief, and then let me decide the best course of action. I'm blown away. I cannot say enough how comforting and kind all of the ladies were that I had the pleasure of seeing today. 100/10 would recommend Willow Run Dental to anyone and everyone. Unless you're a jerk, then don't go there and ruin it for the nice people.

Explain the logic when they are scheduling people 3-6 months out, and require a 48-hour cancellation, but they only send a reminder inside 24 hours? When she called to ask why they fired an existing client, they wouldn't discuss it with her, like adults might. Instead they referenced a letter they sent via the US Postal Service that announced the official severing of our relationship. So, yeah...fun people who wear costumes. Great. But they treat their customers poorly at best.

Unfortunately this is bad enough but imo not the worst part and sorrowfully this review. I had xrays on oct. 5, 2022 and told the doctor. Dr seymour, that I had a sore tooth, not knowing it was my recent crown. I was told all looks good. Ok you are the doctor! two months later i go back with worse pain. It was then I was told there was decay in my recent crown (That was not removed when crowned) so free new crown, however in this case free extract! . X Rays did not see this during my check up when i also mentioned my pain in the tooth? I am so sorry to have to be so negative this time of year but i feel this is inexcusable and get this ... i had to ask for the crown refund! I might add Dr Catterton rude response has also prompted this review. You would think the "manager" would know enough sense not to further enrage an unhappy customer. I'm 51 years old and moved to Bath just over a year ago after vacationing here for twenty-five years. I haven't had a cavity since the 4th grade maybe because I get my teeth cleaned and brush. My daughter went to Dr. Cook and was happy so being due for a cleaning I scheduled an appointment. The office is just off Washington Street with lots of parking. The lobby is very nice and folks seem happy, professional and polite. Because I haven't had any dental issues as an adult I asked if we could skip the initial x-rays or if they could contact my previous dentist an obtain my digital records. To their credit they did contact my previous dentist and my x-rays were a few years old (even if you have perfect teeth you should get x-rays done at least every three years) so I begrudgingly agreed to redo them. The procedure took roughly 30 minutes, was uncomfortable and it seemed like every tooth was imaged individually. During my cleaning Dr. Cook popped in for a few minutes, said I didn't have any cavities, some old fillings would likely need work and I would need a two appointment cleaning and left. I asked the wonderful hygienist (she is also a private pilot and we connected over the common love of flying) if she would finished up assuming I wasn't coming back in a week. At the reception desk I made an appointment for the following year and said I wasn't coming back for the additional cleaning. A week later I got a form letter saying that "we were not a good match" and telling me to find another dentist. WTH? My hygienist was awesome and I had just spent $390 bucks to get an initial exam and cleaning but I wasn't welcome back? Having a form letter, seemingly ready to go and unleashed after meeting someone for three minutes didn't seem right. In my line of work I too have easy, difficult, profitable and non-profitable clients. I don't get to pick and choose "for whom I bake a cake for." My hope is Dr. Cook will read this and change her mind and see me again or at least tell me what I did wrong.
