A friend had given me a selection of their chocolates and I was blown away by the chocolate covered orange peels. It's one of my favorites - but often can be fairly hard - these were soft and so good. All of their chocolates are made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, with no preservatives. The pastry chef is Sandy Tran who was the pastry chef from The French Laundry! Everything from the chocolates to the gift boxes are beautifully executed. I bought a 12 piece gift box ($49) which included 6 "Modern" bon bons (these are dome shaped and filled with unique flavors like passionfruit or yuzu) and 6 "Classic" bon bons (these are little chocolate squares). I am happy that the andSons cafe was open today. I started coming here a few months back and the service, drinks, and ambience were great. The guy at the register was always so friendly as well as the baristas and they were so quick. On Valentine's Day, there was all new staff and it was disappointing because the service was not what I was accustomed to as there was no great service; the barista near the window was rude and drinks were terrible and the cups were dirty. Today, I am happy to say that it was worth them closing and reopening because they hired a new barista, Josh, who is awesome. He has great energy, is quick, and provided great customer service. read more

At a recent Yelp Event I noticed the coffee bar at the far end of the store. Being a huge coffee connoisseur, I made a mental note to hit this place up the next time I was in Bev Hills. Today was the day! I met my good friend and fellow yelper, Nikki, and was not disappointed. I ordered the "Cubano," which had 4 espresso shots with brown raw sugar. I ordered mine breve (steamed half n half) and extra hot! Delicious!!!!! Smooth tasting with a touch of sweetness. I also ordered a slice of the banana bread with chocolate chips. It was good. Just a tad sweet for me. There was a steady flow of customers and I noticed several people parked in the forbidden "red zone" to get a cup of Joe at this trendy cafe. (Not sure I would risk a ticket here in Bev Hills. *Think it would be smarter to park at a meter or a nearby lot) Just sayin... There are only a few tables to sit at and a standing table near the order/pickup window. I really loved my coffee and will definitely be back! You need to stop by. Now, onto the chocolates: I adored the Hazelnut Gianduja-- this little treat tastes like a perfect bite of fancier Nutella. Another one that stood out to me was Passionfruit Caramel (this is their most famous bonbon), it's just so mouthwateringly good!!! I also adored the Sticky Toffee Pudding because it was a perfect balance of chewy and sweet. All their chocolates are handmade (!!!), beautiful to the eye, and have the most satisfying crunch which is indicative of quality. Do yourself a favour, and give them a visit! You will not regret! My favorites that I tried from the tasting were the Hazlenut Gianduja and the Speculoos Cookie, so I bought two of each. The 4 chocolates were under $10. As a Yelp Elite perk, I was also gifted 4 chocolates to take home, which was pretty generous. Grabbed an iced coffee ($5) at their to-go window just to give it a try. I would recommend this place to people visiting from out of town or as a good place to get some unique chocolates for a gift. They have chocolates in the display and it's cool that they have colorful filled pieces as well as a variety of white, milk, and dark chocolates. Each one is like its own piece of (delicious) art. The gianduja and the milk chocolate passion fruit (in a bright yellow shell) are my favorite ones. Parking is available at the 9510 Brighton garage with the first 2 hours free (street parking may be available too but it's by Rodeo, so it's crowded). Credit cards accepted. It's a multi-generational family business that opened in 1983 and is currently run by two brothers to be a mix of traditional and modern chocolate. They like to engage all the senses, starting with snapping the chocolate feve pieces in half. Pro tip, let the feve sit on your tong to allow it to melt. They change their menu seasonally, so there are regular reasons to return for new and exciting chocolates. My personal favorite from the December menu was the 64% Madagascar chocolate with tasting notes of red fruity & tangy. It melts in your mouth and is full of rich flavor, and it has a thin chocolate shell layer. I also enjoyed the tangy, much sweeter Passion Fruit Caramel.
