See's Candies is a classic brand. They've been around for over 100 years! They were founded in Los Angeles by Charles and Mary See. Mary See, Charles's mom, is the iconic face on the See's candy box. The original candies were her recipes. There is something magical, nostalgic, and comforting about stepping into this black and white candy store. You really can't go wrong with whatever you choose. They give free samples. A box of See's always makes a great gift. Their themed holiday boxes and candies are super cute. See's does offer kosher candies. To know if a candy box is kosher check for a label that says "KSA" on the back of the box. All candies are gluten free, according to the website. I'm not sure if they carry any vegan options. It would be nice if they did have clearly labeled vegan options to keep up with the times. I was told by the candy concierge that they have a rewards program. It runs from June to October 2023. You have to buy $30 worth of chocolates EACH month in store for 3 months and then you get a $20 reward. I didn't see this promotion listed in store and I cannot find it posted anywhere online so, if you are interested in the promotion, please check with the store. I like that See's started a rewards program. I do feel that this reward program is complicated. I would love if they had a rewards app where you got a reward after spending a certain amount. I would also love if they gave birthday rewards. See's Candies is located in Westfield Century City Mall. It is behind Coffee Bean and next to the down escalators that lead to Gelson's.

Every-time I step into See's they always greet me and everyone with such warmth. The first thing they asked was if I'd like a sample! Well of course I do! So sweet of you to ask lol! I ended up buying this delicious smelling candle for my 90 year old client who's birthday is this weekend! Happy Easter and Passover everyone!

Who doesn't love See's Candy? Like everyone else I grew up on their lollypops and assorted chocolates. My favorite are the toffee-ettes and the milk/dark chocolate almond clusters. They always offer samples and have a consistent quality of product. This location is no different. The people behind the counter were super nice (even to people that just came in for free samples and didn't buy anything). They are located at a beautiful mall, right next to a convenient parking structure. All that said, this review is meant to be more of a simple life hack than anything else... the next time you're going to the AMC theaters (which are amazing) upstairs, why not swing by Sees first. The snacks are already expensive at the theater, so why not grab some high quality chocolates for your movie going experience. I know you're probably not supposed to bring food in, but a little snack in a pocket or purse couldn't hurt. Also, try not to bring anything crunchy in to be courteous to you movie goin neighbors.

Watching basketball at the gym and watching the Lakers play again? I can't help but think about the GOAT # 24/Kobe Bryant(hardest work ethic of all ballers)as this very simple place was one of his favorite places for sweets. And you know what? It's the simplicity of the caramel intermixed with the rest of the nougat and the nuts which make this simple sweet a classic. Just give me simplicity in a zen-fashion and I am content and my soul feels utterly at peace. Tranquil. Yes, that's what I feel whenever I see a See's Candies. Chill....To the next episode.

One of each please, thank you...ha!!

How can anyone not like See's Candies?? Well, this place is very EVIL because you can ask for whatever flavor of samples that you like to try. It is just so hard not to walk into this store since it is right off of the escalator when you come up from Gelsons!! Then again, you can eat some chocolate then walk next door and sign up with Equinox...haha. My latest love is the Awesome Peanut Brittle Chocolate bars....Oh my oh my, it is so so good. If you haven't tried it, do yourselves a favor, BUY a box of 8 and try not to finish all 8 pieces at once!!! You will see what I mean. See's candies is such a cash cow for Warren Buffet. Though we see it as a chocolate shop, Warren sees (pun intended...haha) or hears it as "Cha Ching, cha ching" right into his bank accounts!! I am upping the ante to 5 stars for this See's location and the great services that they've provided me. I love See's!!

During the holiday season, that kind of just passed, I could not escape IG reels that romanticized…read morethe power of hot chocolate. Apparently, it can be so rich and thick (European Style) that it is part healing warmth and the other part just wildly delicious. So I decided to go ahead and find a cup of thick, and rich cocoa to hit me with holiday splendor, the kind that can re-assemble Frosty after his final melt. My friend Conrad and I were the duo who ventured to ChocoVivo to try chocolate, on chocolate, on chocolate, with some water on the side. ChocoVivo is in Culver City. The place itself is on Washington Blvd amidst some bars, and eateries. This place lends itself to be a dessert spot, an experience for chocolate lovers and those who are not, and anyone who just wants to experience the taste of chocolate in-depth and in odd luxury. As soon, as I entered, I made a beeline for the counter. I was overwhelmed with all the chocolatey choices: pastries, drinks, squares, with the list continuing exhaustively, it even included a chocolate skull that might serve better as decoration than a treat. I excused myself and went to use the restroom, I dared not ask questions to understand my options, when my bladder was full. I might make rash decisions, due to my inability to focus. And with so many options in front of me, I wanted to sample what was right and balanced for me. I wanted to sample chocolate, I just did not just want to taste chocolate. My trip to the facilities was a small adventure in itself. I passed a room with a man working on his laptop. But the room, seemed to be, like a Sultan's rest-room. It had pillows, hanging lamps, and a cream like colored that reminded me of sun-kissed sand. I clipped the room. There is a Minion (from Illumination fame) chilling in one of the couches. Another picture shows, a fishing net (maybe) with make-shift clouds pouring out of it, also leafs and butterflies. It seemed to be the remains of a shipwreck but it also held decorations that could have made the space more beautiful. I believe, and I could be wrong, of course, that this room used to be functional. A place to lounge, and see beauty, while enjoying chocolate. Now it was a forgotten room, whose purpose never fulfilled, and thus had stuff scattered around. I am sure, everyone can relate to that feeling, of getting stuff for an imagined room that never quite materializes and thus the room becomes storage, more than anything. Kondo deliver us! After, I came to the cashier, I ordered a hot chocolate. Conrad made a point, that the hot chocolate I ordered was not the European sipping hot chocolate that I had talked about on our car ride there. He then. made a point, that I should read a menu and then ask questions. I ask questions, as I read the menu. I eventually, ordered two hot chocolates, (one for him and one for me) and then we sampled 12 chocolate squares--- a sampler. The total was close to 60.00 dollars so this is an experience that is not going to the local mart and buying a Hershey's bar. The 12 chocolate samples were just great and enough, there were bigger samples, which I considered buying, but the price deterred me. The one that I got was super appropriate for both of us, by the end I was enjoying slightly by force, I mustered the strength to finish the half marathon. The full marathon would have tapped me out. The samples came with a card. Conrad was the one who was consulting the card, so we could not what chocolate we ate. It was truly fun, to be with someone who read of the information of the card, and then we tried to identify the taste as the card described. I wish I would have taken a picture of the card, but honestly, I am more of a determine by taste taster than a person who wants to be informed of what he is tasting, to know what he is tasting. I do remember the worst tasting chocolate we tasted--- it had black tea infused into it, I do not remember its cacao percentage, each chocolate had a cacao percentage. The hire the percentage, the sweeter the chocolate. The black tea had this earthy and tea taste that was profound. I guess imagine tasting. a black tea without sugar that is kind of the taste I struggled with. I am glad I tasted this chocolate, however, because it was part of the whole experience. I did not drive to the beach and endure a pothole, I drove to the beach and was both intrigued and jolted by the bounce that the pothole produced. Some chocolates I really enjoyed, the hot chocolate was goodness in a cup. The chocolate sampler also came with an espresso that was split into two cups. I was provided a knife to cut each chocolate. I put the knife in the center with one arm, and use the other hand to pierce the chocolate. My halfs were not perfect. Sometimes Conrad got the bigger half square, sometimes I did. I annotate all this so one knows that when you visit ChocoVivo you will need to work, if you want to split those chocolates, but the work was part of the fun!

What I've tried: -Plain croissant: Some of the best lamination I've ever seen. Large and ultra flakey. Great even 2 days after purchase. Buttery deliciousness. -Pain Au Chocolat: Done very well. Still very flakey and chocalate-y. Melts beautifully when toasted. -Kouign-Amann: Great execution. Crispy but not soggy or too tough from the sugar brulee exterior. Nice hit of finishing salt. Interior was still plush. Delicious. -Almond Croissant: Good but not as stellar as the other pastries. I did enjoy the crunch of the almond slivers and appreciated that the toppings didn't weigh down the pastry dough itself. -Chocolate Chip Cookie: Very good brown butter notes but I wouldn't mind the cookie to be a teeeny bit thicker. -Ricotta Pesto: Delicious. Pesto was pronounced and filling was creamy. Heated up very well and pastry dough maintained all the flakey layers despite the filling in the center. The shop and parking: Parking immediately outside of the shop is paid meter. Free parking is available if you walk about a block or two down behind the shop along the apartment units. It's a short 2-5 minute walk so I'd highly recommend doing that if you can. Just make note of the no parking signs in case there is street sweeping or any restrictions but I've done this several times now with no issues. The shop is relatively small but has a good amount of seating with maybe two tables outside. I've been at different times and only once has there been a line that has gone out the door. Still, it was a short wait (about 12-15 mins). The shop also sells merch like t-shirts and adorable mini tote bags. They also have unique chocolates from different countries of origin for sale. Prices of pastries are on the higher end but they are very high quality given the sourced ingredients and 3 day process. You can actually see them folding and extruding the croissant dough behind the glass if you come at the right time! They have seasonal offerings and an option to pre-order online as well. Overall: Amazing quality. Everything you would want and expect from laminated pastries. Will continue coming back!

TAWDI appeared highly rated, but it was also basically the only choice. Walking in to Mickey Mouse greeting you, it's a very homely, organized, and oddly empty shop with some Middle Eastern influence. They are big on marketing for their Dubai chocolate offerings, which I did try. The lady who helped was very kind, offering us each a sample by the chocolate type we liked. As she explained how they make chocolate in the back daily, I had to inquire about popular selections and what some flavors were. Basically, they seem to focus on Dubai chocolates and have some imported goods from Lebanon. While I trust that they make chocolates daily, I have to question how much, what flavors, and what is being turned over, because the sample I ate and the chocolates I opened up later certainly had obvious chocolate bloom, and yes they were stored at an appropriate temperature and eaten on the same day. At the price these pieces were, they certainly shouldn't have chocolate bloom nor taste like old chocolate. The filling of their Dubai bar was nice, crunchy, and moist, but the exterior chocolate shell didn't really have a taste. I am fine with paying a premium for premium-tasting chocolate and often do it, but I would have preferred eating grocery store chocolate, honestly. I'm not sure what others are tasting or whether people reviewing TAWDI are actually into chocolate, but I was disappointed when I didn't enjoy these.

Love Artelice! Have been eating pastries from this place for years and it's always high quality and…read moreyum. Usually a line but staff is speedy. Highly recommend the mango cruffin~ Note: not a lot of seating inside or outside and since they're a popular spot they run out of cold brew pretty quickly. Spot is really good for bringing as gifts/food to events and treats holds well throughout the week :)

There was already a line to get in at this time. They were fully stocked on their croissants and I was bummed to see that they only had two savory options: Greek Princess ($5.50) and Ham & Cheese ($6). The Burbank location has at least four savory options to choose from. Still, their croissants are so good - huge and perfectly flaky. When it comes to desserts, I always get a Napoleon ($9) since it's my favorite and they make it well. I tried the Tropical Mango ($11) and Framboiselle ($9.50) for the first time and they were really good! They have both become a new favorite of mine and I will order them again! Service was great as well. I just wish that they would carry more savory croissants at this location.

This review is long overdue, especially considering I have been having Teuscher chocolates for over…read more10 years and have followed them across the street from the original location, to the new owners. Let's begin with the most important thing you must know - Teusher chocolates is the absolute James Bond of all chocolates. They are smooth, sophisticated and always ready to impress. A bold statement, but I stand by it. I have grabbed these for anniversary gifts, mother's day gifts, bday gifts and they never dissapoint. The shop itself is an absolute fairy and flowery wonderland of delights and imagination. The detail to their truffle boxes and assortments are incredible. I highly recommend their champagne truffles, however, in all fairness, any chocolate you get is a win for your taste buds. Their mocha hot drink is also rich and decadent in flavor, do not miss out on their beverages. Mr. & Mrs. Truffle and the staff are also just so kind and inviting. They are knowledgeable and patient, and helpful with recommendations. The shop along with the staff is just a warm place. It is not just a treat, it's a staple in the city. Their chocolate definately shows the experience that has been perfected for almost a century in Switzerland and has been serving the city for over 40 years. That says a lot! Do yourself a favor and visit this cute little chocolate heaven.

They have some really interesting flavors including lavender, butterscotch, champagne, apricot, vodka etc. They also have chocolates in fun shapes like airplanes or dogs. It's a family run business and the owners are there which I love. They also have adorable little characters that make cute gifts. They are pricey but definitely worth the splurge. They currently have really nice assortments for Chankukah and Christmas if you want something ready made. They also had some beautiful cards to include. Lastly, they also sell coffee drinks.
