I decided to try their food because I hear so many great things about them. The line always being long helps solidify that the food must be good. First of all, I NEVER seen a chicken finger this big, size of my hand. I'm going to be honest, I was skeptical but it had flavor throughout, seasoned well. The fries were perfect and in my opinion, the sauce can make or break a meal. The sauce just added to the great flavors. Now, if you have G. I problems, stay away. The sauce is good but is will create a small fire in the pit of your stomach. I will give them 8/10.

Stopped at Asad's FINALLY! One thing I can really rock with is that they have a screen with the current order number in the front of the store and on the side (so those of us who wait in the car can know if our food is up). The line was long but the wait wasn't too long. The real wait is for your food lol. The food. I wasn't blown away. The chicken sandwich didn't really have any flavor to it, even with the sauce on it. My tender (singular tender) was okay and large as all get out. The sauce was mayochup (mayo and ketchup) and I can't lie I'd rather some more pizazz for my chicken.

Finally made it to Asad's!!! I've had this spot bookmarked for a minute. Line wasn't long when we got there after shopping, but it got long quickly after. Menu is clear and my first try I we t mild lol. Easy order process and not long of a wait for the order which was nice. The fact is after eating it I'd wait however long. It lived up to the hype and I appreciate that!!! I got the #1 Slider with fries. Glad I got the one because this is really a chicken sandwich. I was expecting a slider size and Asad's said this IS slider size. A healthy chicken tender with pickles, cheese, Cole slaw and special sauce. The bread was nicely toasted and it all was perfect and the mild heat was enough for me. Nice kick, I may bold up next order. The fries were nice and crisp and tasted FRESH. That's important, 'cause most places forget the fries. Mango Lahsi was nice, can't wait to try the other juice bar options. Go and enjoy!

Asad's was a 10/10 experience as a whole! The line wasn't too long and it moved fairly quick. The cashier was nice. I will say bundle up just incase the line is long being that it is a food truck. I wasn't that hungry when I arrived so I got a single slider and mango lassi to try it. I was thinking their sliders were small because usually sliders are, but these are not! These are full chicken sandwiches. I wasn't mad at it. The sandwich had pickles, coleslaw and cheese. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was because it wasn't the best chicken I've ever had. My slider had 2 pieces of chicken and kept falling apart and it also needed a sauce. The Lassi was great!

Worth the hype. I went to Asad's Hot Chicken on a Sunday afternoon and waited 10 minutes to order. The line was 7 people in front of me and stayed around 5-10 people the whole time I was there. After ordering, the food took another half hour. They give you a ticket number and have a digital ticker on the building that shows the current order number. They brought out 2 or 3 orders at a time, about every 10 minutes or so. I ordered the #4 since I wanted to try both the slider and the chicken tender. There's 5 heat levels, ranging from no spice to reaper. I went for "hot" which is the level in the middle. It was a good level of spice, the kind that makes your nose water a little but doesn't overwhelm the food. The chicken itself was cooked perfectly: juicy and tender meat with a crispy breaded outside. It also came with a good amount of seasoned fries and their "secret sauce" (similar to spicy mayo). The #4 came with one tender, one slider, and fries for $11.99. It might not seem like a lot of food but the tender was huge and the slider was more like a burger size. If I hadn't been starving it would've been enough for 2 meals. There's no place to sit and eat since Asad's is located in the parking lot of a gas station, but that wasn't a problem since I drove and ate in my car.

JDub and I had been hearing about this fried chicken joint located at a gas station. We decided to try it. So on August 9, 2023, we decided to do just that. It was a little crowded when we arrived, but we were able to place our order in a reasonable amount of time. I chose Number 1 -- 1 Slider (with cheese, coleslaw, pickles) with Fries and Asad's sauce. I asked for NO S P I C E and the sandwich was still super spicy (to me). The chicken, however, was juicy and well seasoned. Same for the fries. JDub chose 2 Tenders with Fries -- Served with 2 slices of bread, pickles and Asad's sauce. JDub loved his meal and said we have to go back and try the rest of the menu.. We didn't get any drinks because the only choice appeared to be smoothies ?!? The wait time for our food wasn't too bad. Not much of an ambiance because it's quite literally at the gas station. Due to the area, it was as loud as could be expected. Would definitely return.

Asad's isn't a bad option if your in the mood to try another spicy chicken place. They advertise it as a Nashville hot chicken rather than the Cajun Style that's been popular in the area. The location is very small, I can't believe they fit around five to six people inside the building! The wait was about ten minutes for my food and there is no place to eat (sitting on a curb or inside your car are the fastest options). The good news is the parking lot next door is extremely large so there is plenty of room for you to park and eat in your car if you have to. The staff was friendly and quick, they have a digital sign with order numbers to inform you when your ready to pickup your food. I went simple and tried a hot tender plus a smoothie. On their heat scale you can go from no spice, to mild, then hot, extra hot and reaper. One tender was $4 and change and a smoothie was $8. They charge a convenience fee if you use a credit card. The hot tender was big. It came with a slice of soft bread and a dipping sauce. The sauce was similar to a zesty sriracha/ketchup mayo. The breading of the chicken wasn't holding too tight to the chicken, but it was crunchy and kicked up quite a bit. The chicken itself was fresh, juicy and a large portion. The flavors of the hot breading/chicken, dipping sauce and bread went well together. Best way I could describe the breading was that they may use a variant of Masala to get their flavor. The smoothie was a mango, pineapple combo that they call Sunshine. They only sell one size. Thankfully it wasn't overly sugary and the ice was crushed well. I saw some fresh fruit hanging around the cashier area so I assumed it's all made fresh and not from containers or mixes. Overall I thought the experience was good. The wait was pretty long, but for their operation I can understand why it happens. The line stayed pretty steady the entire time I was there. I'd repeat, but wouldn't go out of my way to seek them out again.

Really fantastic. That's the review. My order: #4, heat level "hot" Pros: casual, chicken was literally perfection. Juicy, Hot, crispy, definitely the perfect heat level (I chose the middle selection "hot". Cons: wait time was 35 mins after my order was placed, so keep that in mind for scheduling. The slider is the size of a normal chicken sandwich- think chick Fil a size.

I now get the hype. The chicken sandwich is top notch. Perfectly & fried seasoned, great level of spice (I went with hot, and it had just the right kick). Really juicy chicken, and their Asad's sauce is killer! Taste great on the sandwich, but is also a supreme dipping sauce for fries. We even tried their strawberry pudding, because...have you ever heard of strawberry budding? They also had banana, and low and behold, it was essentially that with strawberries. Still very good and a nice portion. If you are more sensitive to heat/spice, this is a great add-on to cool things down. You have to be careful with parking. It is a busy corner and in the mix with a gas station. If you can, I'd recommend parking in the joint mall parking lot and taking a short walk to the stand. Only issue with our first visit was how long it took to get the food. I expected this to be a pretty quick turnaround. There were only a couple people in front of us by the time we got in line. They were on order 45, we were order 50, and we had to wait in our car for 30 minutes to get it. Was it worth the wait for a first visit? Yeah I guess so, but unless that's fixed, I wouldn't travel all the way back to get it. Don't get me wrong, its up there when it comes to nashville hot fried chicken, but it's not in it's own stratosphere compared to Popeyes or Chick Fil A. I would however, consider ordering on grubhub or something and picking it up. I saw a lot of people doing that, but I am sure that is the cause for hold ups. Either way, it is a cool experience and I give them props for having such a desirable business in an unusual location. If you haven't been, I'd recommend the drive. If you are a local to that neighborhood, this is easily a meal every month.

First Time Here. I went around 7:30 PM on a Friday night. It wasn't that busy. Food: 4.5 Stars out of 5 Stars - I got the chicken slider and tender platter with fries - no cheese and coleslaw on my slider, and mild. The fries were crispy and delicious. The chicken sandwich was the right level of spiciness for me (I cannot handle too much spice), good sauce, delicious bun, and delectable chicken. The chicken tender (which I believe is the same chicken in the sauce) was still delicious by itself and it is a pretty big piece. Overall wonderful food. The cost of it would be on the slightly higher end but not too bad. Service 3 Stars out of 5 Stars. Service is average. The cashier was not friendly but was not rude. My order had 3 items and one item was missing a tender. Luckily I checked before I left. Hopefully this is not a common occurrence. The place has nice decor on the outside. it's great that they have a device that calls the order number that is ready to be picked up. An improvement would to have a separate window for pickup instead of the same window for ordering and pickup. I can only imagine how bad it gets when it gets busy. One last thing to note is that if you ask for things on the side, they charge you for it. I would come back again.

That Jawn hits! It's straight fire! No frills soup Nazi styler ordering at the counter. Same treatment as the most gruff cheesesteak worker, but regardless the food is lit. Hot chicken is few and far between in the city and this place hits the nail on the head.

Asad's is pretty good, but for my money, Dave's Hot Chicken is better and that's where you will find me when a crave spicy chicken.

My sister and husband liked their classic chicken sandwich but both agree that it needs to come with some kind of spread like mayo or maybe a house sauce to kick the roll up a notch. I also had an empanada on my ride home as a treat and boy was it - hot, crispy, and flavorful. I also like that the prices are kept down some by making a drink optional especially with the prices of soft drinks in Philly. The gentleman who took my order was very nice, patient, and helpful. The atmosphere is like a traditional fast food vibe. In the area? Check Them Out! I look forward to a return trip for their fried chicken, their unique sides, and their chicken bowl :0)

I found out that Pollo Campero recently opened and wanted to check it out. After doing a search on…read morethe chain, they advertise that they were among the top ten fast food chicken restaurants in the nation. The chicken I tried was decent, but not necessarily a big favorite of mine. Located in a former KFC which was closed for years and a Boston Market that never came to fruition, when I drove by a little before 2pm it was like a major event with traffic blocking Frankford Avenue, and a long line out the door. I decided anyway that if people like this place that much, I should wait it out. I parked my car (DO NOT PARK AT 7/11 or AutoZone - you'll get towed) and got in line. By the time I got to the entrance door, the line had grown even larger and snaked around the restaurant. Once inside, it was a mini amusement park ride with another line before getting to the cashier. Total time in line for me was about 75 minutes. If I took a shot with the drive through, it may have been a bit shorter, but I wanted to check out the inside of the place. Pollo Campero must be huge with the Hispanic population. I think I was the only non-Spanish speaker. The long line was well behaved and thankfully the weather was quite good with a full breeze. The restaurant had multiple staff in safety vests to direct traffic and one was at the door making sure that nothing got out of hand by restricting people entering the place. The clean place was packed with families, and the buzz was palpable. The two cashiers were asking people lots of questions and the young and friendly cashier I had was very soft spoken which required me to ask her to repeat a lot of the questions. I ended up getting a bunch of different things just to try and get a flavor of many different foods. I got a 4-piece mixed grilled and fried chicken, a chicken sandwich, and a 3-piece empanadas. Sides with everything I chose the rice, beans, coleslaw, and plantains. Overall, I liked all the food (I didn't eat all of it, just tried) and will have some for later meals. The fried chicken was crispy and I liked the grilled chicken more. Loved the plantains. The coleslaw was mayo based and had a kick to it. The chicken sandwich was dry and needed sauce on the average roll. I liked the empanadas but my wife was not impressed. They were full of chicken and they had a mustard like sauce inside which I enjoyed. The rice was bland, and beans were flavorful. It was about $36 total for everything. They have Pepsi products here (thumbs down) and also a machine with a trio of other choices (see my picture)! Pollo Campero is not my newest most favorite fried chicken place. But the food was good, and they have a loyalty program if you get their app. They also do catering. When i did a search, they appeared to be all over the Trenton, NJ area so I don't know if this is their first Philadelphia location. Anyway, I wish them much luck in the business. I'm sure the Popeyes across the street was jealous with Pollo Campero's huge outpouring of customers!
